Nice post my friend! If I get a DD I will do this for sure.. Of course, your RIG absolutely ROCKS.. I cant imagine what that's like but I got my motion sim pretty dialed in right now for the 'older cars' .. Pretty soon I will start racing the paddle shift cars.. DMAX

No DONK, as great as it is, the flushing of the toilet is just the start... So assuming that MR-VR Closet has any sort of engineering or handyman skills, you know EXACTLY what he must do. And that is to buy a "second" Fanatec Static Shifter --- then proceed to saw it in half --- and connect the left (or the right depending on the door opening) and attach it as a NEW * IMPROVED CLOSET DOOR HANDLE, to simply open & close his closet in full Sim-Racing Style hahahaha (great idea? - your welcome, MR Closet ; )))

Hello. Would you happen to know whether these static shifters are essentially the same as the Fanatec magnetic shifters? Im referring to the bases that shifter arms are mounted too. Im curious if they have the same mounting holes to be able to mount them to a podium hub not the DD1's front mounting holes. Also, do you think the shifters are reachable if the rim attached to a podium hub is a shallow dish wheel. Hope this makes sense to ya. Thanks for the great videos, it really contributes to this hobby

Thank you so much mate! Those ones are like the old Fanatec shifters, not magnetic. Fanatec do sell magnetic shifters you can mount on a podium hub though, for the same price as well.

@@RVRCloset yeah I found some for 40 so I was hoping the mounting holes were located in the correct spot to mount them to podium hub. Without the red mounting plate.

Can you share exactly what kind of lock nut and screw you got? Anything to make it easier to track down at your local hardware store.

It's the standard Fanatec holes in the front, I think M4. But will check when I get home.

The nuts should fit a 10mm socket wrench.

Was going to buy some expensive stick sequential shifters for rally, but I think I will do this and extend them out with longer bolts and nuts. Realistic and more economical. What size bolts would I need?

If I don't remember wrong it is the same size as the mounting bolts, M6 I think. But I'm not 100% sure.

Can you mount the shifters backwards or turn them. Just would like to push rather than pull them. I want to use one on the wheel to pull and pedal on base to push. Just be nice to know before i buy help would be much appreciated thanks 😊.

If you have them spaced out from the base and make a custom mount for the paddles it might work. But stock I think the paddles will be angled too far against the base flipped.

Not sure if we use the same name for the bolts, but they should fit a 10mm socket wrench.

Hi, I'm contacting to know if you can help me on this shifter. I've just bought a second hand static shifter, but connecting it to the base, I realize that the right paddle (shift up) is doing "shift down" and the left one is for shifting up. It seems the connector is inverted. Did you have the same problem?. Mayby I've bought a defective product. Thanks

Hi! Hm, Have you connected it in the right slot on the base? Not sure if it would work at all if it got connected to the sq shifter slot though. Could be that the one that sold it have made repairs to it, and got the cables backwards? But as long as both work, you should be able to map them the right way in game?

@@RVRCloset I connected to the right base port. I know that I can change the maps in the game, but for those that can be mapped as secondary buttos, then it gets crazy. Right now I have it installed upsidedown. I will try to create a new cable, with the pins 5-6 crossed. Thanks a lot for the quick help
