At 37:55... "I got to give it up to Rayray.. He's looking really William Wallace right now on his death bed.. screaming "east coast"..." I was laughing so hard, I think everyone in the house heard me.. LOL. XD
I fucking love the chemistry between Mike Ross and Yipes in this video. Seriously though, I started feeling Bad for Ray Ray in this. Even back then he didn't play like this.
Yipes' commentary is so colorful that Capcom immortalized him by referencing one of his comments and put it in MVC 3. Pretty sure that makes him one of the best.
@@modest1989 I know its a year old but in case someone else wants to know: "I just beat Mag-freakin'-neto! Where yo curly mustache at?!" is a line Deadpool says that references a Yipes MvC2 commentary line "Oh he so Pringles. Where yo curleh mustache at?" Yipes is referencing the curly mustache on the Pringles can and "pringles" is old FGC slang for being easily broken and/or mixed up. As Deadpool knows references outside of the media he's in, he implies the player is "pringles" by asking where's their curly mustache and only when beating Magneto as he was the #1 ranked character in MvC2 tier-wise.
41:23 you can hear Yipes' voice cracking, he was really behind this match. Just goes to show, to some players it really is more than a game. I respect it.
@@in_vas_por8810 Absolutely and I believe that Ray Ray took the L and became a better player afterwards. Fanatic won with humility too probably giving Ray Ray a few words of encouragement at the end.
It's funny how many people were actually playing Ryu even in 2011/2012. Hes just a bad character in every sense of the word and it seems far fetched people didn't see it back then. Hes easily bottom 5 if not bottom 2. Can't convert off almost all throws, bad solo damage, weird supers, basically zero mixup especially solo, mediocre mobility, bad projectiles, etc. I would call him a strictly worse Akuma in marvel 3. Rayray switching out Ryu for Doom and switching Magneto to point was the best decision he could have made.
Was having the hardest time ever trying to remember which Rayray match that had this moment 18:45 and I’m so glad I found it and it *still* cracks me up 🤣🤣
I miss this game so much. Way better than casual fighter 5. At least marvel was FUN and no one got salty enough to let it get to them. Mad hype commentary by Yipes always too. Miss that
But then you have to imagine Fanatiq still practicing and improving, which means RayRay would still lose... Fanatiq was was way ahead of Ray skill wise. Of course a man from the future would beat a man of the past... lol
Between this and CEO2012 we need a deep dive into the history of Mike Ross and Yipes. It seems like Mike is the one guy who neutralizes Yipes personality and they are one of the best parts of the east coast/west coast rivalry.
oh my god the new wave of Ray Ray dickriders found this old ass video and want to talk about it with no context of what was going on back when this happened. Please, just follow the current Ray Ray and forget you saw this since chances are you dont know who Mike Ross or Fanatiq is and probably dont know who Yipes is either.
Damn, what was going on with Ray Ray? I've never seen him play like this. Good stuff from Fanatiq though, he was definitely playing his match ups well.
***** Plus there's 5k on the line here, of your own money. Not only that, but he has a whole room full of guys from the east coast who were counting (and probably betting on him as well) on him to beat Fanatiq. Fanatiq's face was just expressionless calm, he's basically the mvc3 god of high stakes money matches and is able to win because he can keep calm and focus+recover; even when he starts going under for a few games and there's a few grand out of his own pocket on the line.
1. It goes back to the days before good fast internet and when East and West would meet up it would really be a true test to see which coast was training harder. 2. It makes for some good hype.
gotta love the 18:10 part, ray ray's sentinel try to flies away and escape fanatiq's storm , thenn storm go after him 'there's no escape!!' haha just perfect
Kinda lame how CC puts these videos up for sale but they gotta make that money. I appreciate that you uploaded it though. I was able to get a free copy of CC's version but it's all good.
Yipes 4:30 - "You eat that humble pie, save me some for later" Mike "Alright, alright, alright" Yipes 18:28 - "Mike Ross gave me his dish and now i'm eating it" Yipes 39:16 "Ama ama ama stay over hear , eat this humble pie..." Mike "Okay okay thats no problem." Gotta love Yipes. xD
04:27 Mike: I got nothing to say Yipes: You eat that humble pie, save me some for later 39:15 Yipes: Imma,Imma,Imma stay over here and eat this humble pie. Fanatiq made RayRay salty but Mike Ross made Yipes Sour!
Yeah it's footage like this, the Daigo Parry video, the Evo2k7 J.Wong video and others that captivate people and really get people into the game. I've been fighting for a long time to make the game 3 out of 5 match standard for tournaments so you get more time to use your team and fight your opponent's team. People like to call the game random but it's more so about building a team that controls chaos and adapting to a lot of shit very quickly.
I didn't watch the whole thing but why did yipes seem kinda salty at the end and in some parts? Does that have to do with anything about what your talking about?
real talk good shit from fanatiq.and ray ray too man,i know the pressure mustve just hit him real hard and that can happen.and fanatiq has been through this many many times.gotta give fanatiq credit for being a gentleman about it.even though they werent frustrated with each other most ppl wouldve popped off and started boasting and bragging but he showed alot of sportsmanship.
