I'm not exactly a Fanatiq fan--and I'm actually pretty new to the scene--but I agree that he deserves more respect than he's getting from some players. If I were to guess why he doesn't GET that respect--and keep in mind I know next to nothing about the guy outside of the less than 10 matches I've seen him play--it'd be that he plays pad, not stick. There isn't anything wrong with that, but it DOES allow players to set up things (like one-button dashing) that other players think are cheap.
I actually liked the commentary. I kind of got a "so bad it's good" vibe from it. It felt like casual friends betting on who they liked more. Nothing wrong with that!
Neo's commentary was good/funny. The only reason it became mostly trash talk is because his commentary was reflective of RDK's. If RDK had been a more competent commentator, we would have had actual thorough break-downs of the match, instead of trash talk city. He did the best he could given the circumstances. Respect.
I stand by my opinion and respect yours. I dont believe that 1 best to 15 proves anything, all 3 players will have many many opportunities to play each other over the years, after that those many years I may have to adjust my stance, but for now I stand by it
It's the fact that he uses an underrated character that makes him so popular. He makes Iron Man look viable. I don't think he's the best, but he usually puts up a good fight against top players.
Fanatiq's Mags outclassed Joker's leaps and bounds. Joker's mixups seemed much stronger, but wasn't finishing his combos. Joker messed around too much round 3 and it seemed to kill an early momentum/hype he might have had. Beauty cross-under rd 15. Fanatiq showed class by not just chipping out for the Game Point, and there was a point-- in round 11 or so--where Fanatiq (imo) easily could've finished his combo to put out the match. Very classy on the mic Neo. Hype match and hope to see more Joker
