He gave her a lick not a kiss, a kiss is where your give a smooch on the lips not licked on the face, also Red only did the dance to encourage Fang to at least eat the berries that make you drunk, DRUNKBERRIES!
I noticed that they only get “drunk” when they started eating the rotting fruits on the ground. Which would make sense because fermented fruits are used to make alcoholic beverages like wine. Red is eating the ones on the tree and sees Fang eating the ones on the ground and is like “Huh, never tried that before” and they both get drunk. 😆
There's a bird called a cedar waxwing that's notorious for getting drunk off fermented berries. I worked at a nature preserve and helped with injured wildlife, and we'd get calls for waxwings flying into houses and trees or dropping out of the sky mid-flight because they were so drunk. Don't drink and fly, kids!
@@torvovenator should look up 'drunk squirrel' cuz there is a vid where a squirrel ate a fermented crab apple and couldn't figure out to climb up a tree for couple minutes
This happens to birds all the time in northern climates just after fruits and berries defrost. The only issue I had was that the rexes didn’t have the ability to chew by rotating their jaws like us mammals do, but I’ll let it go. A lot of folks don’t understand that carnivorous animals will sometimes eat high-energy plants like fruit for added energy and fiber when provided the opportunity. It may be a small part of their diet, but it is there. Nature isn’t as picky as we like to believe.
The little things in each episode really stand out at times. That's part of the beauty in this show. No goofy sound effects or annoying voices, just taking in the natural splendor.
“What a beautiful love story. I’m very glad they lived happily ever after.” “But that’s not what happen-“ *”I’M VERY GLAD THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!”*
Red was definitely a subspecies of what Fang is and his species is possibly on the verge of extinction. It seems dinosaurs in this land are much more rare than they were in Spear and Fang’s homeland. People have dominated this part of the world so dinosaurs were likely hunted to extinction as we saw in cave paintings in the episode after this, plus the changing climate likely didn’t help either. When he met Fang he was probably so friendly with her because he saw this as his one and only chance to actually breed with another theropod and has likely never seen another dinosaur in many years and was probably very lonely. He also likely resented humans because they possibly killed his parents and or his siblings and also actively hunted him and made his life hard. That’s probably why he hated the Celtic village and Spear so much. I think over time tho he would’ve grown to have liked Spear. I’m still very sad about what happened to him.
i mean tbf, all the other groups of ppl seem to have existed BEFORe the industrial revolution, so climate change most likely wasnt what killed most of the dinos here off
@@agorman1341 Yeah, subspecies means basically the same as 'race' to humans. I personally believe that Fang and Red are the same kind, but even if they weren't, it wouldn't be different from if a black person and a white person made a baby together.
@@thefatman8119 ?? You think cave paintings just dissapear? His kid will obviously understand the entire story of the 2 seasons, and know Spear died protecting everybody
I’ve never watched this show but know all the hype and spoilers unfortunately, but every single scene has fantastic animation. Seriously, it’s eye candy.
if you actually watch it @Axon you will see from show to show, and season to season - it is an excellent display of story telling and .. i for one, found it captivating and oddly relevant. Less dialog: more viewer thought
You got to see a lot in this scene. This really was "Red inviting Fang to get drunk with him." These were *fermented* fruits, which was why these obligate carnivores were eating them. They also were depicted like modern birds of prey, which is to say, the females were dominant. Red took the lead only because he knew about the effects and she didn't; the dance was a clear invitation to Fang, but she had to choose to go along with it. However, she was pretty curious and the courting dance just sealed the deal. Once she started getting tipsy, she was sold. And he knew it. Series did a fantastic job of showing that these gigantic predators had feelings, too. They were not just mindless killing machines. They really cared for one another in the brief time they had together.
To be fair, there is evidence of herbivores eating meat and carnivores eating plants when desperate for a specific nutrient, so seeing it portrayed here is realistic
... This is one thing I always wondered. Instead of a horrific but well told killing-human-frenzy... What if Red was actually friends with the villagers? Imagine if he started chasing kids, only to pretend to be bested by them and play with them, confusing yet relieving Fang? Then when Vikings attacked that village, Red lost his life in battle protecting Fang, Spear and the villagers? Don't get me wrong, I get the whole thing... But ponder that what if and tell me it wouldn't have been beautifully tragic.
Saw a moose once in my parents backyard, so drunk it was wobbly on its feet as the day he was born. Reason? Eaten half rottet apples on the ground that has fermented by the bucket loads. It also stumbled and just stayed there for couple of hours until the buzz whent off and he was off to woods again.
@Carolyn S I was inside when I saw this Moose drunk as a skunk. But at that time I seriously doubt he would be in any shape to do anything. He was struggling to stand still let alone walk as he tripped immediately after he tried to step a few feet. Funny as hell though.
I would call the Red Dino “Rooster” b/c they are theropods and they are more related to birds like chickens. Also Red color scheme is related to most common designs in roosters which is the male chicken
I think he just means Reptile. Incase not, Kai Theropods are reptiles and Lizards are reptiles. same tree, different branches. Reptile beeing the tree.
For those who don't know, rotting fruit ferments. It basically becomes like booze and when they ate the rotten ones, they where getting hammered/drunk. Fun Fact: That's why wasps become more aggressive near the end of summer, they get drunk off the rotting fruit.
I Like the Fact that there is Sexual Dimorphism in this with red being Shorter in the Length but Bulkier Whilst Fang being Longer and taller at the hipps, also the fact Red is more brighter in the collor scheme perhaps for Actraction, idk, i just find this extremely intresting
So cute her little stare when he took the first bite like ''So? You're about to die or is it safe to eat?'' and then he does the little dance like ''Nope, see? I'm alive and kicking'' 😂
They went from being sweethearts to slaughtering everyone in the village till Fang discovered that Spear was in that village. So Fang had no other choice but to kill her lover at the end. Talk about a tragic love story here.
Red was truly an amazing character. He had such a personality and you could tell why Fang liked him. I’m still sad about what happened and I think over time he would’ve grown to like Spear.
Fang: why are you following you know I can hear you Red: it’s because you gave me that meat Fang: ok you can follow me red Red: she is kinda cute to be honest
Their love was so sweet to watch I'm still sad that fang accidentally killed him in an effort to stop red and spear from fighting (two of her most important beings in her life)
It may seem bizarre to a see T. rex, which is renowned for being an apex predator, eat fruit but this is likely based on how crocodilians (modern relatives of dinosaurs) have been observed eating fruit as a nutritional supplement.
the crazy life of FANG THE DINOSAUR 1. Lose her first offspring 2 lose the dinosaur she love! 3. got new offspring from red 4 lost one of the egg 5 almost lost the other twos 6. getting a lot of arrows on her body! 7. losing a lot of blood against the vikings! 8, almost die from a mutant gorilla etc...................................
I've heard that Moose and Elephants enjoy getting drunk from eating over-ripened fruit, so I guess it stands to reason that dinosaurs could very much have been the same...or should I call them Wine-o-saurs in that instance? heh heh!
There are very few true 100% carnivores in the world. Many take the opportunity to eat fruit and vegetables when they want, which is rare but not unheard-of.
@@oddball0399 Eh, more like obligate carnivores have plant material as accounting for 2% of their diet at most in very rare instances. Otherwise, it's all meat, all the time.
@@liopleurodonthedinoman3637 most of not all carnivores are capable of consuming plant matter and there's many instances of lions, crocodiles and other typically carnivorous animals eating plants, some of which are known in popular culture (Just think about catnip). Of course this happens very occasionally, but it's more common than you May think
Yes the borders of herbivory and carnivory are actual a spectrum. Same goes as well in reverse. Cows for instance a known to nomb on chicks when getting the chance.
If i had a nickel everytime i saw an animated dinosaur getting drunk on fermented fruits, i'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot but it's weird it happened twice
