What are your thoughts?
@trevor8307

It’s possible. I remember in 98 when they pitched batting practice to McGwire in September (he didn’t even need the help). Sometimes a player’s accomplishments are so hyped that everyone wants to be involved, good or “bad”. Same thing with Pujols two years ago. With the best of the best, sometimes even opposing teams understand that the good of the game is more important than their own stats or ERA. It’s as though the league feels that the elite have earned their place and why not “let” it happen. I don’t think it takes anything away from their accomplishments; if the league thinks they deserve it, I can respect that. This being said, #52 from last night was one of the highest pitches I’ve ever seen go for a HR. Ohtani is not human.

If you know the manufacturering process then you know they aren't meddling with the balls. There is no magic dust they can put on it. The dead balls and juiced balls were due to inconsistency in this like the thickness of the seams. MLB was getting the balls. Then after complaints they had the manufacturer create new balls that didn't do whatever was the issue previous... then people complain it wasn't the same ball as last year... you know the balls they complained weren't like the balls the previous year.

I’m sure they knew about steroids also. They want records to be broken bc they want ratings. Like you said they juiced the balls for three years str8. I’d love to see it tested.
@trevor8307
@trevor8307 7 дней назад
I don’t involve myself in the juiced ball conspiracies. I don’t have knowledge of the process of producing and delivering baseballs, so it would be unfair for me to comment. I can comment on pitches. Now, the uneducated will talk about Ohtani’s third HR from the other night. They’ll say it was rigged. They don’t realize that in blowouts it’s pretty typical to see a position player throwing batting practice late in the game. This wasn’t necessarily “meant” for Ohtani, it just worked out that way. People will see what they want to see…confirmation bias (especially with casual fans or blinded haters).

I don’t believe MLB was messing with Ohtani’s 50th ball so that he could hit homerun easier, if that’s what conspiracy theorists mean. It was just a matter of time for Ohtani to hit 50th homerun anyway after he hit 49th. There’s no reason to set it up for the 50th like that. Rather, MLB authenticated 50th ball so that there’s no bogus claim of the ball by potential catchers. This practice has been common since McGwire chased his homerun record through Judge when he hit 62nd in 2022. As far as Ohtani’s comment on “he wanted to get it done as expeditiously as possible”, an interpreter did not do a good job to convey nuance of what Ohtani meant. It’s Japanese culture behind Japanese language in which we Japanese put ourselves in other people shoes when we are the center of the action. In this case Ohtani felt bad that people had to do the extra work of changing the ball every time he gets in the batter’s box only because he is chasing the record. That’s why he felt that he wanted to get it over with ASAP given consideration to people around him. Get it ?

Why didn't the MLB or these conspiracy theorists come forward before the records were broken? Basically, these are nobodies who hide behind their computers and have no lives other than trying to ruin things for everyone else. Their existence has no purpose. Honestly, sports figures have their talents, their egos and their gifts/hard work. that's it. So, their being better than so many others is bound to rile lesser talented individuals. I just don't see any baseball players allowing anyone to gain off their own legacies. No player would go out of their way to become an Al Downing (Hank Aaron's 715th HR ball). There's no way any of them wants to be remembered for such accomplishments! I put my faith in the talents...not the lunatics! p.s. Sept 19th proved the writers of "the Natural" to actually be right about the role of announcers/commentators/writers in sports. The way the calls were made had me in tears-even on replays. Excitement may even be greater than an actual accomplishment?

Serious question if the balls are pre authenticated who is to say that somebody sells one of the balls that was authenticated that they caught as a foul ball and claimed it was the home run ball how would it be known it wasn't? If they're all authenticated

So I'm the only one that remembers at the beginning of the year, against the Padres, there was a thing where special balls were being used for Othanis at bats, and a couple players brought it up? It's not far fetched to think MLB would favor their golden goose, to keep the cash flowing in, from Japanese fans...

Unless, you want to remove ALL the HR stats that was hit of a Position player throughout seasons 😂that includes Judge too. (Could be that he didn’t break the Maris record then?) or even the stadium size..etc. In 500-600 at bats in a season, you do have position players. So if you strike out, can we change it to a hit instead because you’re suppose to hit of them, right?

If the balls hit are juiced, that's on MLB and MLB alone. Anytime a player is close to something special they do this. Ohtani has broken many records this season, both dodger records and MLB records. So it's obvious they're going to switch the balls out.

Judge hits 62 homers? It's because the balls weren't the correct ones. Acuna goes 40/70? It's because the bases are bigger. Shohei goes 50/50? It's because of BOTH reasons. Man I love baseball but there's no doubt we got some of the worse fans and media personalities in sports. We can never just appreciate greatness, and this coming from me- someone that tried his best argue Shohei over Judge for that MVP two years ago.

Probably the rigging they're talking about is letting him hit like throwing a proper pitch to him instead of giving him a dead ball or letting him walk (which in a sense the proper way to deal with a good hitter).
