I have lived in Australia and Europe, Basketball isn't actually a major sport internationally, it's mainly soccar, cricket and rugby. Basketball and NFL is solely an American sports and not as popular internationally. Most internationals don't know who he is, I have seen his picture and that's about it. Can you imagine how he felt as a father knowing he couldn't protect her? Can you imagine him holding her, consoling her, telling her he loved her as that helicopter went down? As a parent, I can tell you, Kobe Bryant's greatest fear was realized today. And it wasn't the fear for his own life, but for that of his beautiful daughter. Because as a parent, your life means nothing in comparison to the lives of your children. We live for our children. We breathe for our children. They are our reason for being. We would also die for them, without hesitation. Without question, without a moments notice, we would lay down our own lives to ensure theirs. Just thinking of his internal struggle in those last moments tears my heart into pieces. He knew his daughter's young life was ending. He knew he was leaving 3 other precious children behind. Oh, how his heart must have ached! Can you even imagine the agony that played out in his mind? Every parents worst nightmare happening to him in real time. He was there when his sweet girl took her first breath, and he was there with her when she took her last. And that's the only solace I can find in this...that he was there. In her final moments, her daddy was there to remind her of his undying love. And with everything in me, I hope that baby felt every ounce of love her daddy had for her. I hope it overwhelmed her, and carried her straight into paradise. Because I know that's all her daddy wanted too. Rest in peace Kobe and Gigi. Damn I'm so freaking sad. I quit two addictions of mine this past week including a 17 year addiction to marijuana. I was about to re-lapse today but then I asked myself "what would kobe do?" - Kobe would be strong and disciplined so I figured I should do the same thing and thus I refrained from the drugs. I'll never do drugs again, EVER In my life in memory of Kobe. His discipline and work ethic is unmatched. If i could just have a little bit of his discipline and strive for excellence then my life should be better in the future. Whenever you are feeling lazy or sluggish or if you don't feel like studying or doing your workout, just ask yourself "what would kobe do?" and follow suit. Kobe surely would stay disciplined no matter how sick or injured he was. DAMN, I'm just so sad.

Very sad day!!! Words can't explain much of a travesty this is. I woke up this morning, turned on the news and noticed that Lebron passed Kobe in the all-time scoring list. I then checked the internet to see Kobe's comments. I was amazed at his humble comment. Within an hour I got a text from my sister and wife stating that "Kobe died". I don't usually cry, but tears came down my eyes. It was so unexpected. I've known many athletes but Kobe was one of those few that stood out. He's very classy and intelligent This is surreal. The legend aka Kobe Bryant was still young and had so much life left. It's very unfortunate that his daughter was there with him. I can only imagine how his family feels.
