I’ve always believed in Negan having some good in him, Carl touched it, and seeing his tears really broke me - and the fact that Rick listened to Carls last wish was the best!! I know many wanted Negan dead, but that would just prove Rick had learned nothing. So I’m thrilled for this!!

@Real Josh That was wrong but so were Rick's group when they killed over 40 of Negan's men while they slept. I'm still glad that Rick won but in reality, both sides killed and did a lot of damage to each other. But yeah Negan's way of doing things had to end.

Love how the Maggie leading a rebellion to kill Negan tease for a storyline went absolutely nowhere. She still wanted him dead, but nothing happened that this scene suggested. Guess Lauren and Andrew leaving S9 changed a lot of plans, unless they were never going through with it in the first place.

I'm glad someone else noticed this! They were definitely setting up a civil war type arc where the Hilltop and Kingdom would go against Alexandria and the Sanctuary, but like you said Lauren and Andrew leaving part way through the season killed those plans immediately. That's probably why Season 9 felt so out of place and rushed, like they had to rewrite every episode last second to fit the Whisperers Arc. We were kinda lied to for a big part of Season 8 so maybe that's why alot of fans rank this among their lowest favorite seasons.

@@_Devil I don't know about Lauren, but from what I've heard, Andrew originally wanted to leave at the end of season 8, but agreed to stay on for a bit of season 9, so they would have more time to give Rick a proper sendoff. So his departure, at least, wouldn't have affected the writing of season 9, as they knew when they started writing it, that he was leaving.

Sparing Negan was wrong. Like morally it’s all sound BUT in ANY scenario that shot doesn’t stay. He’ll escape, he’ll manipulate someone-SOMETHING. In a zombie apocalypse there’s no point in taking prisoners.

Years later, and Negan is the only person I care about now. He is a king, he still maybe a bit bad, but he has changed for mostly better. What rick and carl did was the best option, or else judith would of died.

Really late, but thank you! It's so frustrating to see so many people bashing Daryl, Maggie and Jesus and thinking they will backstab and kill Rick and Michonne or something when they would never do something like that at all. I absolutely hate that the writers thought it was a good idea to make them seem like villains in this scene (or the whole season tbh) for no reason at all and having them be hated for it when nothing even happened in the end smh. None of these characters deserved that.

Loved this episode, literally don't understand why so many ppl have an issue with Rick saving Negan...he was right. This way is so much better now he can suffer. Also, no reaction to Ricks little moment when Carls death finally hit him...that was so sad bless him 🙁

I honestly don't think Maggie is going to go against rick, I mean she still hasn't gone through Carls letter properly, we will probably have a scene next season where she is reading Carls letter he wrote her, will probably convince her to back down a little against negan. Dunno if anyone notice but the scene where Gabriel jumped out the car to run, I think the reason Eugene was so eager to stop him was because he didn't want negan or any of the other saviours to fire their guns at Gabriel, this could of alerted them to Eugenes plan of the guns back firing, causing them to kill Eugene right there and find another way to beat rick, I know its a silly detail but it really is great story telling... kinda makes me think if they planned the part where Negan said to rick the eeny meeny miny mo was bs

What a rollercoaster ride! Thank you Skybound! Cant wait for next season! Hopefully the fact that there's a SUPER, MEGA, EPIC WALKER HERD LESS THAN A MILE AWAY, Maggie will re consider sabotaging her family and make peace with the situation! Glenn was a person full of forgiveness and second chances! Glenn also had hope and visions for a better future! Let's hope Maggie can remember that and find some peace!!
