FansToys FT-28 Hydra (aka Sixshot) - Full Review

Either you didn't watch my entire review or you ignored it, but I fully covered the second joint and explained how to manipulate it. At 13:20 I was saying you can't use the second joint if you stow away the wheel as it locks the second joint.

Good point, his all modes were always wierd so fanstoys was faithful to that, just nothing to be excited about except robot mode.

If you are okay with Fuuma's jet mode being no fun to handle because the wings just fall down with no way of securing them into place, Fuuma's gun mode front drooping when handled due to the weight, fuuma's chest wings and treads commonly breaking, a bad car mode that is accurate to nothing but a mistransformed G1 Sixshot car mode, and a tank mode with no cockpit, then yeah, Fuuma is great. I do agree Fuuma has a great looking bot mode and pretty cool wolf mode but Hydra is hands down the closest thing to a masterpiece Sixshot.

@@unicron99999 well, I am a big fanstoys fan myself. I have there Sovereign and there Phoenix. Am planning to buy Quietus and Roadking. This is no fault of fanstoys and hydra is not a bad figure, Is just that for me he just looks okay because his to plain. But again that's not fanstoys fault since that's how he looked in the cartoon, but than again fanstoys always seem to stylus there figures to give it a more heroic stoic look. The fuuma imo looks better in all alt modes and there's no comparison in bot mode. Eventhough I personally feel that it isn't a fair comparison, since one is an idw representation while the other is a g1. But me personally I feel that hydra looks good next to Cyclonus and Galvatron but doesn't look well on it's own.

@@2007suprasport Well we all have our opinions and that's totally fine of course. I agree Fuuma's super stylized robot mode is awesome, and I can sure see how it could be considered better than Hydra's if one doesn't have the nostalgia factor telling them Hydra looks perfect. I do have to say though, this thing going around about Fuuma being the IDW version of Sixshot is wrong. I have every IDW comic with Sixshot in it and they always basically drew him as G1 for the most part, making a few minor changes in certain frames, but never anything like what Fuuma looks like. So Fuuma might be what one would expect if IDW gave Sixshot the same kind of updated look they gave many characters in RID and MMTE/Lost light, but he's not actually IDW's Sixshot at all. Just a big stylized version that I feel has too many issues to be worth his price. I have every Sixshot figure. I do really like Fuuma a lot since I modified the hell out of him, but Hydra is my MP Sixshot. And I'm not a big Fanstoys fan myself. I think they make great looking figures that are usually a huge pain to transform, so mostly for looks, not fun.

@@kyllerkill You don't know the difference in the word Unicron and a unicorn so i'm not at all surprised you think Fuuma is IDW. By all means though, go ahead and try to back up that claim. Find one single picture in any IDW comic where Sixshot looks like Fuuma, or better yet, one picture from IDW where Sixshot looks more like Fuuma than the G1 toy or toon even. You can't, but hey, call your toys whatever you want to call them.

I think the figure is good except the knee joint. I just don't know if it's good enough to replace previously purchased masterpiece sixshot figures like DX9.

@@TMReviews Up to the person spending their money, but DX9 Hanzo is far from G1 accurate in most modes.

Yup for sure. I might have to get a Hanzo to compare.

​@@kyllerkill lol the issues with Fuuma aren't QC issues. It's just how the figure was made. Lots of people have broken treads and chest fins. If you haven't, great, but you're full of crap if you are saying you are the only human on the planet whose Fuuma jet wings peg into place for jet mode, has a cockpit in tank mode, has a car mode that is accurate to any other version of the character ever seen, and a gun mode front end that doesn't easily droop down when held by the handle. I really like my Fuuma, but i'm not a delusional idiot. I see the good and bad in all of the Sixshot figures. None are quite perfect.

The knees could be tighter but I have yet to see mine fall in any pose I've had him in. Its a soft ratchet, but it works fine, at least on mine.

Ya, that is how I would sum it up. I'm hoping they release knee upgrades and that will make it near perfect.

I sold it, sixshot is just a character I don't need

@@TMReviews very good figure, it hurts that I have knees that are shit, pay 150 dollars for my figure and it is not worth it, it is the worst ifguar of fanstoys in the quality issue, it looks like the transformers ditka of kfc.
