I've been getting into more obscure comics that isn't superheroes and not from DC/Marvel/Image and it's what got me back into comics again. It's good to read comics from different genres/publishers sometimes

I picked up Keeping Two from the Fantagraphics store a month ago when I was in Seattle. It's an amazing book, and I definitely think it should be in consideration for an Eisner next year. Phenomenal read. Also picked up the Paco Roca book since I loved his previous books Wrinkles and Twists of Fate. Fantagraphics importing more foreign books to supplement their strong stable of alternative American cartoonists is great for the industry as a whole.

Love these books. I can’t wait for the Love and Rockets boxset and the new Crepax volume in the fall. Also the Tim Hensley books, Detention #2 and Sir Alfred #3 is finally being reprinted. Also, Katie Skelly’s The Agency is being reprinted. Need all of these. It’s too bad nobody has reprinted Operation Margarine by Skelly, since that is one of my favorite books of the 2010s.

although I am late to the party, I do highly recommend the Floyd Gottfredson comic strips. some of the best stories I ever read is in his library

Just picked up Keeping Two yesterday based on your recommendation! Thanks. BTW funny you mentioned Floyd Gottfredson… I found his first two Mickey comic books at a used book store the other week for $10 each. Then I found an eBay lot selling almost everything but 1-2 (which I conveniently just bought) for $20 a volume, including the two all-color Sunday editions. They are made very nicely, quite reminiscent of Carl Barks. I highly recommend it!

I really wish they would put out volume 1 of the Carl Barks duck books. I’ve been collecting them for 10 years waiting for volume 1 so I can start reading them. I just can’t bring myself to start with volume 5 or whatever. My OCD won’t let me.

Yes, Beethoven had issues resulting from cirrhosis of the liver (the most likely or leading cause of his issues) due to his overindulgence in wine. This is evidenced by his own letters, his doctor's reports, and autopsy reports of the time.

I absolutely loved the treasure of the black swan. You should pick up Ultrasound published by fantagraphics, that was fantastic too.

I'm not crazy about Fantagraphics original graphic novels but they're reprinted stuff can be awesome. I'm currently getting the Complete Crepax series which will contain all of italian artist Guido Crepax's comics stories which are presented in excellent large format hardcovers.. Also I got the Prince Valiant vol 1-3 and 4-6 boxsets which are astonishingly beautiful books I cannot recommend highly enough.

Didn't take a graphic novel to highlight what is problematic with Indiana Jones. Don't get me wrong...fun movies. AND ALSO, those movies are littered with colonialist notions and racist depictions of other cultures.
