Why do these idiot directors all have to reinvent Dr Doom.? The only one that was faithful to the OG Doom was Roger Corman and that was a ashcan movie.
Hell yeah and he played it perfectly. As if he knew that the girl could tell and it was their secret. I waited and hoped that someone would have seen it and thought "I have a great idea for a THOR movie". But sadly no. Though we did get him as Pvt. Pyle that same year in "Full Metal Jacket". RIP R. Lee "Gunny" Hartman
GIMME TORCH AND SPIDEY BROMANCE. Peter could use a friendly face right now and the idea of Joseph Quinn bringing Eddie energy to a conversation with Tom Holland's slow-tongued Peter sounds delightful.
Umm actually, Nick Fury looked like Samuel L Jackson in the Ultimates before the MCU movies. He was cool with his likeness being used only under the condition he got to play Fury in any movies that were made. So this would actually be an example of the comics affecting casting, not the movies affecting comics as stated.
yup, Millar thought it would be cool if Jackson would play Fury if there were every an avengers movie so they retconed fury to look like him. At the time a Marvel cinematic universe was a pipe dream.
Since no one mentioned,: Ryan, are you forgetting the last scene in Iron Man (2008)? he starts that interview trying to dismiss his involvement, but ends up fumbling it by hinting he was a superhero, and when the reporter follows up by saying she didn't say anything about being a superhero, the the way he respond is: "Well, good, because that would be outlandish and, uh, fantastic" The whole scene was about using his actual comic book excuse for his secret identity, so this was not a coincidence. It was a hint that the Fantastic Four did exist at some point in 616/199999, WAY before Tony put on the suit.
He might *still* be Micro, not like we're gonna see Ben's face for long. I'd hate to lose Micro forever, dude got his happy ending, went home to his family, that doesn't mean he wouldn't show up for Frank if he heard Frank got in trouble. Shit, his wife would help.
I love that they casted him for both. Both David and Ben are great representations of Jewish culture. Ebon being himself Jewish made David feel more full as a character. I hope he can do the same as The Thing.
Human Torch was my first favorite hero since I was a kid going from Chris Evans to him is perfect. Vanessa is fine too can’t hate on that choice rip Jessica Alba’s sue storm 😢
Ok. Got a new shirt idea. Wade's World, with a picture of Deadpool and Wolverine sitting on a couch in a basement, dressed like Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World.
I love Pedro Pascal, but I gotta say, I hate him for Reed. Why? He's too hot, and not nerdy enough! He makes a perfect Joel. Gruff, but a heart of gold. That's not Reed. I think someone like John Mulaney would've been alot better. Just nerdy enough, but still "cool".
Loved having Tommy on ! Haven’t seen stranger things recently (only first season) but human torch character is one of my all time favs. Really hyped to see the “rebel with a heart”
I have a theory on who the villain is: Red Ghost and his Super-Apes It makes sense because this film is set in the 1960s, during the Cold War and the Space Race. Considering that, according to Easter eggs, it takes place in 1963, the US hasn't made it to the moon yet. Thus, it is quite possible that the FF's fateful rocket ride was meant to reach the moon. However, the Reds would not be too happy about the Yankees having a team of superpowered, scientific adventurers, so they would most likely attempt to create their own superhumans. Thus, the Russians would likely experiment with cosmic rays in an effort to create their own Fantastic Four, and the result would be Red Ghost. In the comics, Red Ghost was Ivan Kragoff, a Russian cosmonaut who gained the ability to turn into a "ghost" as the result of cosmic ray exposure after attempting to fly to the moon. Accompanying him were three apes: Miklo (a gorilla), Igor (a baboon), and Peotr (an orangutan). They too would gain superpowers, with Miklo gaining super-strength, Igor becoming a shapeshifter, and Peotr becoming telekinetic. The Super-Apes would frequently aid Red Ghost in his attempts to claim the moon for his own and other dastardly plans.
Correction: Nick fury was turned to look like Samuel L Jackson in 2001, which is years prior to him ever showing up in the iron man 1 post credit scene which was 2008. I read years ago that they did that & Samuel L Jackson seen it so they made a legal binding contract with him saying if Nick fury is ever portrayed in live action he’ll have to be offered the role first.
THANKS for this!!!! I'm 56 and I've loved the FF since I was about 11 years old. Whenever you do the history of the FF in comics and in film, I feel seen and heard!!! Feel free to do that video on FF comics you love!!!! VDay became FFDay!!!!
@OptimusSatanas maybe no other actors wanted the role because they were going to get the same BS from marvel fans for 5+ years compaining, like from the day he was just rumored, and pedro was the brave one to deal with all you mfs. And he's going to kill it so chill out lol
I get it because I picture someone with a thinner face as Reed, but I felt the same way about The Joker when they cast Ledger (I though Paul Bettany would be a great casting), and he crushed it. And Marvel's casting has almost always been on point, even when I thought the narratives were bad, the casting has rarely been. I'm going to trust Sarah Finn until proven otherwise.
John didn't want the part for two reasons: 1) Reed isn't the main character, Sue will be the lead. 2) His wife Emily hates comic book movies & will never play Sue Storm despite the two of them being so perfect for those roles.
Krazinski would have been great as Reed Richards, so I'm a bit disappointed. Here's hoping Pedro Pascal does a good job of it as well. Also people really need to start watching the cartoons, more specifically Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, which has a great version of the Fantastic 4.
The dad jokes literally killing me lol!!! I love Ryan's delayed reaction as he is just trying to host a regular video and these guys are messing with him. So excited for the Fantastic 4, this cast is great!
The thing that occurs to me is that we have seen heroes in the MCU priors to Iron man. The Ant-man movies have shown us Hank Pym was around before and working as the original Ant-man so there's potential for a story line where he could have worked with Reed, either before or after The FF went off into space. I could also see them do the 70's thing and then they get caught in a quantum zone, because they do stuff like that and return ages later in the present day.
Dr strange mentions “didn’t you guys chart in the 60s”? In multiverse of Magnus, I mean madness. So they COULD have existed in the mainline MCU as musicians in the 60s
@lkh1093 I've been wondering the same. Jessica was gone for awhile but now she's back??? And Tommy's gone? 😢 NR hasn't been the same in awhile and all change isn't good.
I hope and pray to God that Cillian Murphy is going to be Doctor Doom. If Marvel is going to rip out my heart by not bringing back John Krasinski after 2 years of speculation, then Murphy has to be Doom because he's not only the best actor for the role but he's the only actor for the role. Murphy is a very nonchalant person in interviews which is what Marvel wants anyway because of spoilers, plus Murphy has said that he loves playing complex-realistic characters anyway. Since Doom is Marvel's most misunderstood/complex character, this is right up Murphy's alley. All he said he wanted was a strong script, so just get Ryan Coogler to write Doom's dialogue.
Pretty good official poster! Joseph Quinn & Tom Holland are only 2yrs apart in age, can see them having great chemistry together! Ebon Moss-Bachrach will knock it out of the park as Ben Grimm and actually elevate the character! Vanessa Kirby is a great pick for Sue, can do drama & action, and Pedro is a great solid anchor for the group!
instead of going to space, what if the fantastic 4 gets their powers from exploring the big celestial in the ocean and his statue releases some type of energy. this should be like a post credit scene in captain america
23:48 I don't think Iron man was the first superhero in the MCU, because he says "clearly I'm not a superhero type" and the deleted Fury's speech about radioactive bugbites and assorted mutants. Also Cap.
@@boimesa8190 Not sure; i don't follow NR as much anymore. I recall there was some drama late last year with NR letting him and others go, but he came back on a less frequent basis
He was fired during their restructuring last yr along w/a bunch of others then brought back under a freelance contract then left again to move closer to his family in NY but kept open the option to work with them in the future. Also heard he wanted to focus more on his stand up work.
Whenever I see Ebon Moss-Bachrach, I always think 'I've seen him before, where do I know him from??’ Recently did a rewatch of one of my favourite of all time shows Fringe, and yeah, there he was!
5:36 I'd always felt the Roger Corman Fan4 had a visual effect that was literally set in the Adam West Batman 60s... I'm so glad this one will go that direction on purpose.
Cousin attempted to backstab the Rebellion and was killed for it. However, little did Andor know that his gun was imbued with cosmic rays and when the smoke cleared, The Thing was formed.
I grew up in same town as dude, didn't quite go to HS together cuz he was 4 years older than me (and we had JH, HS) but you basically said it right Ebon Moss Bachrach.. if anything it's a tiny bit softer a's, like maybe not "Back-Rack" a little closer to "Bock-Rock" ..But I guess in the middle of that. Like I said, you pretty much said it right. He'd appreciate that it wasn't completely butchered : ) I was always a little bitter sweet about homey showing up as Micro, cuz I figured that precluded him from making it into a bigger Marvel production! Then he's in the previews for Andor and I'm like "Homey is finally on top!" But of course.. [*spoiler*alert* for Andor] Then I heard Mads Mikelson was gonna be cast in a new marvel project even though he was in Dr. Strange. Weirdly I immediately thought of Ebon.... this is probably as game changing as it can get for an actor... dude has been KILLING character roles for about 20 years. If you want to check him out making other actors look great: (he'd be pissed about this one but I remember his first "big" role, a made for comedy central movie) Porn and Chicken 😂... then he had a part in Stealth with Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel... then I didn't see him too much for a while... later he was John Quincy Adams in the John Adams series... one off'd on Fringe... can't remember which character. Maybe like an exploding guy or something. That or timetravel? I forget. He was Marnie's boyfriend that she sang with him and he played guitar on Girls. He was in NOS4A2, Bear obviously, Andor .. and I'm sure he was in a bunch of other things... oh! He was the bellhop in The Royal Tennenbaums! And there's definitely plenty of stuff I haven't seen.. Like I said, KILLING it as a character actor. Can't think of someone more deserving to see his hard work pay off! Cheers Ebon! Thanks you guys for doing this spotlight!
Me either but I did finally start to read Johnathon Hickman The Ultimate relaunch back in 2000s and liked it. Just google F4 Comics Explained that channel got a great video on it along with every other comic book. Problem is you will start to wish he could just read you everything lol
I still have a copy of that 90s Fantastic Four movie on VHS that I bought bootleg at a comic convention in Tulsa it's not only horrible to watch, but the box is it has like this crappy ass cover of a comic photocopied onto some cheap orange paper as the cover slid into the sleeve of a cheap rental box. It's pretty funny
I LOVE THE SUE AND THING CASTINGS! I really like the Reed Richards casting! The only casting I'm iffy about is the Johnny one, but the promotional Arts they released is selling me more on it!
I just hope they don't change superhero comic's first family, into another found family. Found families are everywhere in comics, actually families are rare.
Anybody else find the Fum add hilarious because they’re clearly a smoking replacement but all the people who read the ads have to make up anything BUT smoking for it to replace?
If it's Galactus I want someone like Lawrence Fishburne , it will mainly be a vocal job and the guy has an awesome voice. For Doom I reckon Stephen Graham , he knows how to do intimidating.
Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards? Really, Marvel? This isn't going to get people back into theaters. Mr Fantastic needs to be the new Tony Stark of the MCU, and Pedro Pascal isn't that. Deadpool 3 will be the last successful MCU film. Or what's left of the MCU at this point
