There was an extremely passionate employee that made a chicken fighting game and they decided to throw together a Far Cry around it so people would buy it
So here's my experience with FC6. Saw that there was a chicken fight mini game upon release. Was too cheap to buy it just for a chicken fight, so when there was a free weekend on Epic Games the other week, me and the boyfriend downloaded the game, rushed through 4 hours of gameplay skipping cutscenes and complaining, until we got to the chicken fight. It was awesome. 10/10 would recommend. Deinstalled immediately after the chicken fight.
if you're getting your hot takes from this channel, then thats a reflection on your character lol. Pretty basic commentary, hardly merciless, clearly we both share different definitions
Far Cry 5's fishing minigame mechanic was so good to the point where a lot of people played the game exclusively for that. i'm guessing the cockfighting mini game was intended to catch lightning in the bottle twice.
@@K.C-2049 5 was a great game. And then I gave 6 a try again, and yes the story and mostly the characters were so annoying but the gameplay got better and some places were good looking
Dunkey doesn't beat around the bush, some people may call him uber pessimistic as he's bashing almost every game but imo that's an interesting perspective. All other youtubers only make a video to sell a game if they liked it or are doing these monotonous generic readout of their descriptions.
You know he's serious about how he feels because if he actually enjoyed the game even somewhat, the whole video would've been about the chicken Tekken fighting game
Don't fail to mention the fact that the final mission where you spend the whole game trying to get the factions to come together to help you... Is a tiny mission with an extreme anti climax, and the massive city fight you prepare for, for the whole game, doesnt happen....
The casting of Giancarlo Espisito to play the same role he’s ever played since 2012, was an appropriate casting when you consider that this is the same game from 2012
I mean I get the griping a little, but i think boring people can make exciting things boring, that is by far the most efficient approach most times, but I appreciate the assassination mechanics and up close sneaking around... bow and melee I find fun, as you might expect I really liked Primal. Thing is though, if the only tool you use is a hammer, everything becomes a nail. Haven't played 6 yet so it may just be garbage ill check it out sometime I'm sure. Also I really liked Vas as a villain, fun to hate and seemed legitimately like a crazy person.
That's basically it. You don't even need to walk into any camp. Just camp on a rock near any outpost. Take out your super silenced .50 cal and kill everyone. That's how I completed all but two outposts in Far cry 4 and 5.
Not innacurate but at a certain point I had fun with FC3 by stealth if through a base planting C4 and chaining assassinations together to suddenly kill everyone in like 10 seconds.
Chorizo is cute, but he's completely useless... So no, he was not some game saving idea. I feel like all the hype he has comes from people making recycled attempts at humor who haven't even played the game. The best amigo is Oluso by far, but most people dont know that because you know... Jokes and memes 🤦🏾
I just want to take a moment to appreciate that dunkey set himself on fire and then acted out running down the highway to see if the NPCs would notice, all for our enjoyment. "I am the master" -Dunkey
Most basic boats don't need a key to start, therefore you don't have to hotwire them. Why you would hotwire a tractor is even more beyond. You can't really get away on a tractor.
I''ve had the opinion for pretty long that the worst sin a video game can make isn't being BAD - bad can at least be memorable in its own stupid and ridiculous way. Being boring and bland is by far the most aggravating thing, and Ubisoft has been making games that are the equivalent of just a plate full of white bread and unseasoned boiled ham for the last ten goddamn years.
I’d say they’ve been doing that long before Far Cry 6. Assassin’s Creed became a dead franchise because all the titles are so similar & they innovated in the one way nobody wanted (that also conveniently gave Ubisoft the opportunity to sell microtransactions because fuck the consumer). Watch Dogs is just Assassin’s Creed but with a hacking gimmick (which is honestly pretty fun but it’s buried in all the Assassin’s Creed gameplay bullshit). Ghost Recon was revived & turned from a tense tactical squad-based shooter into a third-person version of Far Cry (I loved the original Ghost Recon games so this one in particular I’m really pissed about). Splinter Cell got turned into Uncharted/Watch Dogs, again a decision that only serves to piss off the old fanbase. Far Cry 3 was a very well-made game for its time, but copy-pasting the same game 3 separate times & selling it at full price borders on being a scam. The only original games I can think of that Ubisoft has made semi-recently are R6S and Valhalla, but those came out years ago and they probably aren’t going to make actual sequels any time soon (at least ones that stay true to the series). When you look at Ubisoft’s collection, almost all of their games are either Assassin’s Creed with some sort of gimmick or they’re another Far Cry game. Frankly it baffles me people still give this company money
Ubisoft, EA, and who knows how many other companies have been actively doing that for the last 10 to 20 years, I hope more people continue to take notice
Wow, you come down hard on what I thought was my new favorite game. But I subscribed to you anyway because you had some valid points. I actually like discovering different ways to attach the various missions/arenas. Did you try it on Difficult? You won't get by so easily. And besides I love the mode where you put on the Rush shoes, equip the whole package, holster your gun and you can run around faster than a horse! That way you can sneak up to an enemy area, then in a burst take out several with your machete; you don't need any of those amazing and customizable weapons. Keep on keeping on...
The game is good bro, I don't get the hate for this game, for me it's a total upgrade from 5... Coz I played 6 and then played 5 and wow... The disadvantages in 5 are just ridiculous, the only, thing that's better in 5 is the story, it's more interesting than the cliche far Cry 6 story... Other than that, weapons are better in 6, you have more things at your disposal, like resolver weapons and supremos, the game kicks you off with a parachute and wingsuit right after you finish the first 2 or 3 missions bro!! That's just awesome... These guys play a game and expect it to be the way they feel like and that's not a good review... Review the game on what it has to offer, not how you feel it should be...
I loved the game. I had a lot of fun nights drinking and exploring Yara. Still haven't deleted it because I might do a new game+. Was generally kind of shocked at how people are still making hate videos, but I guess rage bait = easy views and money.
Yeah, same here! I bought the Ultimate edition too.. I have to many games to complete so I'll try the game out in a few years.. But thank god it's a good game !
You won't regret it, cuz to me you can play many good new or old games for 60$ that are much better than this. For eg: doom eternal for first person shooters
Bro... Don't base your expectations on somebody else not liking the game coz I can assure you he probably is playing on easy mode... And why not challenge yourself and face the enemies head on?? I mean, we don't say COD is boring when we camp in one spot and snipe everyone dead right? But for some reason you expect FarCry 6 to be different when you're clearly going into a spot where you're in disguise and you're killing everyone at a very far range with a silenced 50cal sniper gun, yet for some reason, you expect the game to create miracles for you to be challenged 😂😂😂
Disagree. Rather play Super Sleep Fighter IV Unisom Edition where only half the characters have the same moveset, and to unlock the extra characters I only have to pay money instead of playing a boring ass FPS.
Only truly talented musicians can mute the strings without touching them or putting pressure on them; truly incredible, he probably just turned the volume switch down on his acoustic.
If you don't like the core Far Cry formula I get not liking Far Cry 6, but they did actually freshen it up and put effort into the game. They made gun and armor progression a lot more natural with having tiers of 1-5 weapons, and you no longer have to buy the same attachment for every rifle because once you purchase an attachment it unlocks for all weapons of that class. Higher tier weapons have more attachment and perk slots, and you got more elemental ammo with the addition of electricity and toxic, and there's also more gadgets (throwables) - they added stationary sentry gun, healing has canister, poison gas canister, sensor grenades, and more. You also have Resolver weapons and Supremos, resolver weapons being really makeshift unique weapons like a gun shoots shock waves, discs, nails, there's a huge rotating mini-gun, there's a massive crossbow that impales enemies, a gun that shoots fireworks, and the supremos and armor sets are really cool because you can actually now specialise into a medic for example since the medic armor set has perks to specifically make you a more potent healer, pairing that up with the Medic Supremo (backpack), you can carry more health gas canisters and your backpack ability lets you spray healing gas all around you for a duration. And there are many other ways to specialise and branch out. If you find the base game too easy they've added Special Operations with 5 levels of difficulty that do connect to the story and are rather lengthy. Gameplay-wise I think this is the most fun of the Far Cry bunch and I really think the hate is undeserved. Structure-wise it is the same as the previous entries, but gameplay wise I think it is much better.
The main villain is literally: “yes, I’m the bad guy. I’m bad because I like being bad. Let’s kill all the people on this boat because I’m the bad guy. Have you noticed I’m really not good?” No good motives or backstory
"hmmm yes, if we let giancarlo esposito carry this role by being badass, we wont have to write any actual character for him to play. thats why people liked vaas and pagan min right?"
Ah yes the brand new horses, which is a down scaled version of the elephants from FC4, which is an up scaled quad bike with head bob. Can't wait for the next probably snow themed game so I can ride the new revolutionary mountain goats
@@jacksonsteele5084 For Far Cry 7 I want to ride an exploding purple giraffe, except its really a brown colored version of the elephant from the other game.
Far Cry 3 was an interesting, exploratory and "new" style of first person shooter when it was released. I have to agree with Dunk, they've really just been recycling the formula since then.
EVERY Ubisoft game. If they come out with something new, best believe there will be 3-6 reskins with minimal "improvements" right behind it. It's totally shameless and obvious at this point. I'll never give these scam artists another dollar.
FC3 was fucking trash too. It might have been new and interesting for like an hour or two but the whole game was just the same shit over and over and over. Every FC since 3 has had that same problem with being repetitive and homogeneous. And honestly 3 wasn't even THAT new or interesting to start. It really didn't do a whole lot that was new besides opening up the map, but they really didn't give you much to do with it besides climb a billion fucking radio towers or whatever.
@@eggheadchristian 100%. That game's antagonist carried it all the way. Everything else was just more of the same. Even the narrative itself didn't make much sense by the end. But even then, the story was more engaging and interesting than anything Ubi has put out since.
@@jirden Oh yes, Black Flag, much fun. I remember, uh... trailing missions. And, uh ship stealth trailing missions. And eavesdropping... Wait, what else was there?
I fell in love with Far Cry 3. Then Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon came out and I fell in love with it all over again. Then I saw the gameplay trailers for Far Cry 4 and realized one of my favorite games had just become the latest to be kidnapped and forced to incestuously reproduce with itself by Jon Ubisoft.
Blood Dragon is the shit. Played if for the first time a couple of years ago, and it was hilarious fun that didn't overstay it's welcome. Also genuinely cool art style.
Not only does that guy betray you later but he literally does it 3 missions later. There's not a single character that develops in this game which is fitting since can you even remember any character from these games besides Vaas?
Giancarlo Esposito is such a good actor but since Breaking Bad he's been given these absolutely toothless scripts and boring villain characters that don't do him justice.
"The world is a terrible and uncaring place. All we do here is suffer in our feeble attempts to do the right things. I long for an embrace of death" "DUDE, WE'RE DONE WITH generic_jungle.266 MAN! WE CAN WORK ON THE ROOSTER GAME NOW!" "HELL FUCKING YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!!111!11!"
I think the car upgrades and car summoning were actually the best changes to the game tbh. It was just a simple upgrade that made gameplay a smidge smoother and allowed for a better flow. I also like the villain and the fact that headshots with a snipe killed in one hit like they should, but that’s honestly it. Everything other than that felt like a downgrade of previous entries.
Far cry 6 is the worst type of bad game, for example masse effect Andromeda and cyberpunk those are very bad games, but those games were so bad that they passed into the funny threshold we’re with far cry 6 it’s so boring and stale that it lands right in the middle, nether good or funny just straight up boring shit
@@stmsin dont get me wrong it's fuckin sick but I consider that more a grappling "claw" than a "hook". It also doesnt turn you into a zombie playing, parkour running, spiderman lol
Pariah dogs and wandering madmen Barking at strangers and speaking in tongues The ebb and flow of tidal fortune Electrical changes are charging up the young It's a FAR CRY from the world we thought we'd inherit It's a far cry from the way we thought we'd share it You can almost feel the current flowing You can almost see the circuits blowing One day I feel I'm on top of the world And the next it's falling in on me I can get back on
Yeah you can go and play those other ones. There's nothing wrong with FC6 but after experiencing highs and lows from the franchise, FC6 is by far the weakest one.
This reminds me of how enemies in MGS5 started wearing helmets to guard against constant headshots. I guess Ubisoft still haven't even caught up to MGS2 technology yet
@@YellowSabre its harder and requires you too be in front of them. Way more thought and can for dealing with one mook than most enemies on the far cry games.
I’m surprised the creators of Chorizo weren’t fired for coming up with it because it was apparently pretty annoying to animate. There is a little 10 minute ah documentary on Chorizo
"Ubisoft is trying to see how little effort they can put in with FC6." - they already did that with the post-apoc one before this, where they literally just took FC5 and made a few textures pink/purple.
@Voldrik I beg to differ. Blood Dragon had a new map, unique assets, unique art style, and different weapons. Primal has the same map as FC4, but everything from the weapons and enemies to the setting and the way animal taming/riding was a major gameplay element made it different. The post-apoc one was literally a reskin of FC5 with nothing new.
@@ApocalypseGuy1 not to mention that blood dragon was only $20. You really only got one of each weapon type, but the game was 1/3 the price of the original.
There's like a 90% chance whoever came up with it was an intern or contractor and got extremely little pay and no credit for it, same with the rooster fighting game lol. And that tiny spark of creativity will be missing from far cry 7
The best ending in this game is the secret ending at the beginning. Where you don't even play the main story you just drive off in your boat to Florida.
@@exoical4304 visually only. was a cool easter in far cry 4 but in typical ubisoft fashion they stretched it to be as plain and boring as every other mechanic
The sad thing is, Ubisoft literally do not need to make any effort. Just like every franchise game series, they can rinse and repeats and they’ll still guarantee good sales.
3 succeeded in part because using a good actor for a great villain and really putting a lot into the mocap was a novel idea that invested you in the story way more than usual. So of course they just rinse and repeat that gimmick for sales instead of coming up with other equally cool ideas to keep the series relevant.
@@kenetickups6146 no you don't need laws dictating what game developers can release. With that logic, Majora's Mask would have been illegal. What we need is responsibility as consumers.
Both JC 2 and 4 (mechanically) are better than 3 by quite a bit. The only thing 3 has going for it is the one room where the entire world becomes Take On Me.
"This man is all over the marketing, but he's barely in the game" That is literally Far Cry 3, 4, and 5. T-that is Far Cry, now. This was one of the biggest criticisms of 3 from the beginning was that they won everyone over with Vaas, and then he's not even the primary antagonist, much less in the game for more than 15 fucking minutes.
"Vaas, Pagan Min, Joseph Seed... The villains are usually the best part about the Far Cry games sooooo how about we make them present for about 10 minutes, that should satisfy everybody."
@@harolrvez7124 having the villain around a lot would be.. odd. But Vaas was very effective. Can you name any game where the villain is constantly around? Like genuinely I'm struggling to think of any game where the villain shows up a lot. Vaas showed up and it was a big deal. His presence was fairly real. Far cry 4? I don't even remember Pagan Min. Joseph seed and all the siblings? Same thing.. they just felt like some next boss.
@@gankhiskhan5140 to answer your question, the FF7 remake. And it works there because Sephiroth fucking with the heroes constantly works in the context of the story and its inverses of the original. The Uncharted games do that too, and imo it works really well, especially with 3 and 4
Id say 2 and 3. But only 3 because of the characters, the gameplay is kinda garbage while 2's story is garbage, but gameplay was fun. I barely remember anything from 4 besides the opening and ending and haven't played 5.
