real talk how can someone say they've been playing games since the 80s if they're 40 years old and it's 2023? mfer was born with a nintendo console in the womb? dude was hitting the arcades when he was 5 years old? 8 years old? It would be accurate for someone born in the 80s(early 80s) to say that they've been a gamer since the 90s(nintendo, gameboy, GBA, etc) but to say you're 40 and been playing video games since the 80s is crazy
@@jordang8730 Yo I'm 42 and was playing my Dad's Atari in 85 and got my first console NES in 88. It checks out. I won't be playing this one cos I hated F04 and this looks just like that but in space. IMO Bethesda died after Skyrim.
@@jordang8730 he said in the 80's, if he started playing when he was 5 or 6, that's not incoherent. Atari 2600 was already around, and NES was being released . But yeah, i kinda wondered too.
Dude, they literally do owe us. I never understood the cope from those people who defend crappy unfinished games. Like it isn’t already clear what is destroying the gaming industry.
@@Titantitan001 This has been one of my favorite years for gaming personally. Though I also found some old series I never played before that are good, as well as some new releases. Though there were some mediocre stuff like Starfield, and bad stuff like Redfall.
@@Plainsburner what game’s exactly? Past 10 years have felt dry in the triple A category. I’ve really only been playing indies. Dabbled in tears of the kingdom but wasn’t blown away or anything. Sea of stars is cool so far.

You don't have it in you, but I don't either it's ok
Yeah no sorry it actually take another 12 hours to decide if you really want those pronouns because if you don't your game will delete itself and blow up your house!!!!1!1
Everyone acts as if "reselling" Skyrim was a bad thing. First off it was only "resold" once, in the form of the Special Edition, and that was actually for good reason. So, I really don't understand why people even made a meme about it. It's stupid.
As a 2 month old baby, I know there will be nice updates over the years and will improve it that much it will evolve to become more Elder Scroll like in gameplay.
The companions in this game will stay with you for YEARS (maybe a lifetime!) after you've finished playing! Like who will ever forget the ever-loveable "Sarah Morgan"! She's a middle-aged English lady, who's looking to do good in the world! Or Sam Coe, a middle-aged guy who dresses in Western gear and has this really unique perk that lets him deal 10% more damage with rifles!
And who can forget his lovable sidekick offspring, Cora?! The only thing sharper than her wit is her skill with a _haiku!_ My life is certainly enriched beyond words by these all too fleeting high-quality adult interpersonal relationships! Bethesda really knows their stuff!
Detective Kim. Who? Dak'kon. Dak-yawn Minsc and Boo. Whatever Kreia, Kaelyn The Dove and ED-E? Fuck 'em Morrigan, Anders and Varric. Who cares Wrex, Garrus, Mordin and Tali? lol, yeah right. Sarah... mf'ing.... Morgan.... OMG I CRIED, I screamed, I clapped!
Seeing everyone collectively shrug at Outer Worlds for being a "mediocre fallout in space" only for it to prove to be better in almost every category than a Bethesda official "fallout in space" game is just hysterical to me. ES6 is gonna suck so damn hard.
I can’t believe Bethesda spent 7 years making a game about Garfield. Of course they’d need a lot of loading screens for all that lasagna he’s been having
Just let it sink in that the reason elder scrolls 6 isn't out yet is because they wasted 7 fking years and 400 motherfking million dollars developing this steamy piece of turd videogame that ended up flopping😢😢😢
I know star citizen is a diff game but it captures the feeling of being lost in space or a moon way more impactful its feels surreal knowing nobody is coming and your ship has been blown up
@@griddycheeseGreat Point, except Starfield will probably have countless planets that are modded into the game in 5 years and Star Citizen will still be in Alpha

For me, Starfield is the game. The developers have added gameplay. The writers wrote the story. Graphics are visible. And even critics gave this game a rating. Definitely one of the games ever made!
So is this game just average? I don't get the joke. Is everyone mocking the hype or not? Even for fucking Harry Potter people were excited... Is this excitement? The sarcasm is too thicc!
"No one is buying it cause of pronouns" apparently, but im not buying it cause every planet looks like different color palettes of the Sonic Frontiers map.
Fake, stars don't live nowhere near that long. Giant stars use up their hydrogen fuel quickly, resulting in short lifetimes. An eight solar mass star will live less than 100 million years. At 10-15 solar masses, the lifetime of the star drops to only 10-20 million years. The most massive giant stars are believed to live no more than a few million years.
Dayum….. you are multiple times older than scientists think the universe is. Also the game is definitely getting recalled for depicting underaged stars.
Fun fact: Even though my game runs at 30 frames per minute, I've actually gotten the fitness challenge. It's not bugged, it's worded poorly. You have to expend all your O2, AND build up your CO2 to max. It's silly, but that's how you do it.
If death stranding is a walking simulator, then Toddfield is a fast travel simulator. Which makes it the opposite of a strand type game, therefore it created its own genre and is an 11 out of 10. Another win for Todd.
@@george_MF_washington I think many bethesda fans are probably actually quite disappointed. I have like obscene hours in The Elder Scrolls Games and the later Fallout's so starfield really was quite disappointing to me personally. The starfield enjoyers are people that just committed way too hard to the hype and can't stand to let the tsunami of disappointment wash over them I think.
@@Kruziikrel13 Eh I was pretty skeptical of the game pre-launch and definitely didn't find anything special out of it but once you progress a little through the story and get into side quest stuff it does come together. It's definitely somewhat dated and feels like Skyrim/Fallout in Space but I do think it's good if you like previous Bethesda titles and overall they did improve on their formula somewhat.
@@Kruziikrel13 I've been liking it, it's just an enjoyable game 🤷♂, there's a ton of content, interesting questlines and fun gameplay. Different people enjoy different things, I never got this idea of what you personally like dicating what anyone else likes, it's up to personal taste at the end of the day.
Phil Spencer accidentally admitting developers have given up on trying to make good products before having his Ethernet cut by Microsoft corpos is the kind of dystopian hell I live for
As a 50 year old Hideo Kojima who is currently stranded, I can truly say that most of the time Dunkey’s opinion is wrong bc he didn’t like my game, but he’s right here. This *is* the game of time.
I really don't understand why so many games feel the need to go woke. IMHO if a game gets bad PR for being "non woke" or "not being inclusive" it would actually sale better...
You know what I learned today? You don't have to buy Bethesda RPGs. I saw Starfield and was like "ah shit, another $60 I gotta spend" but then it occurred to me, there's no way Todd Howard shows up at everyone's house with brass knuckles, right? So I took a risk and didn't buy it. So far no sign of Todd Howard, I honestly don't even think he knows. Epic gamer moment, I'd say.
I have 12 hours played on a Series X and haven't encounter any weird glitches with the character models. I think people with shit PC's are the ones suffering these problems the most.
Yeah I agree with that, that's really strange. An hour in the game stopped recognising my keyboard inputs. Had to Alt+F4 t he game to fix. I'm also pretty sure I've bugged dialogue options. Managed to talk to someone on Cydonia with dialogue options I don't think I was supposed to have yet?
I had a glitch where my companion was running insanely fast and couldn’t slow down to a stop. They ran into a wall and got launched 50ft into the air. it made a loud ass bonk too I wish I recorded it lol
I had a quest glitch where 2 npcs just stare at each other instead of talking to each other Had to use a bucket to move one of them so it prompts properly
This is one of the best videos about Starfield. Please, continue with this concept of reviews, its really funny to watching it (sorry for my bad english)
"It doesn't look like Fallout 3, it doesn't sound like Fallout 3, but it still plays like Fallout 3." As someone who actually likes Starfield, I think this is a damn accurate explanation of the game. For better and worse.
I wonder if the train that's nothing more than a glorified loading screen selector is literally a hat on an NPC's head again like in Fallout 3. It moves all of 10 metres, some super advanced tech right there!
I think that skill challenge isn't bugged, it actually requires you to fill up your oxygen bar with CO2 in addition to depleting your oxygen. I'm not sure why but that worked for me!
Because they call you "you" right? I don't understand why pronouns are even needed since they're only used when you're not there. In a video game. Where you're always there.
There is no gameplay point. There pretty much never is. Studios only put in pronouns to make sure you know that they're allies. Ladies and gentleman, Bethesda uses pronouns. Bigotry is no more. 🙏
@@ZeScorpion So did Baldur's Gate 3 and Forza Horizon 5. Don't know why they only started yelling about this game, but I assume it's because Starfield was considered mid by alot of people and the grifters will now claim it's because it was woke. They usually never call really popular things that because that would invite backlash.
You know, it’s funny that some people are upset over the game letting you pick your character’s preferred pronouns. Especially when NPCs will completely ignore your character’s preferred pronouns and instead use the pronouns associated with their gender, making the preferred pronouns completely irrelevant. Classic Todd Howard.
What the 40 year old gamerboy meant was that he last played games in the 80's, hence why he was so impressed. And yeah, 5/10 is pretty accurate for Starfield.
The gamer guy from the 80s had the best commentary here. 9.5/10, really makes you *feel* like you're reading a review from one of the developers on his alt account.
The worst part is he calls him self a huge space nerd. Starfield doesn't even have any space exploration. It's literal loading screens. Meanwhile no man's sky, elite dangerous, and star citizen has been doing it for years, seamlessly.
Yeah I haven't played it yet, but it doesn't seem like... a masterpiece. Seems like a solid "Ok." These people raving about it seem to be people who really don't play that many games at all so their standards are a little low. They don't know what else is out there.
As a genetically engineered flying baby with 6-pack abs, i can confirm i am writing this from inside my mothers womb like a little human piloting another human like a mech.
The true gameplay experience is realizing that you don't need to get on your ship to fast travel. You can simply fast travel from where ever you're standing.
yeah its like that so you can play it how you want, sometimes fast traveling is convenient sometimes its immersion breaking I think its good that BGS leaves it up to you if you want to you or abuse it, its an rpg, play it how you want.
thats the funny thing in the video games industry you just have to fool enough people to sell enough copies, you dont need to fool everyone, just fool enough of them and it's fine@@bdleo300 Coincidentally there are more than enough people with low standards when it comes to video games so we are endlessly spiraling down into a future where video games will literally look like an undergrads unity project he slapped together over night and people will not hesitate to defend it because they just spent 60 bucks on it and it better be a good game.
For anyone wondering, the fitness perk was never bugged. You have to fully deplete O2 and keep running until you fill up CO2 and take damage. Most people seem to make this mistake
The whole rant Heel did about the pronouns was too ridiculous. COD Cold War they ask your pronouns in the campaign but no one lost their shit over it. It's almost like it wasn't a big deal
There was a tiny bit of anti-woke grifter coverage of it, but nowhere near compared to Starfield. Ironically most of the pronoun criticism for Cold War was in a comparison video showing the differences depending on what gender you pick.
The way these new games are rolling out while most of us haven't taken the time to find a scalper or happen to own a 2.5k PC, these feel very exclusive and like a passing fad. I keep watching new games fan bases disappear after a couple weeks.
I have no hate for starfield, just the concept doesnt overly interest me. I'll pick it up on sale and after my gpu is upgraded. Elder Scrolls has a pretty reliable track record and its easier to make a sequel than build a game from nothing.
@@jasonr8525 Nothing? They literally used the same engine as fallout 4, hell even took some assets from the creator club. The story and setting might be new but much of the stuff was already done beforehand.
Lol the way you wanted them to make starfield is literally impossible, you want a thousand planets that each have skyrim levels of interaction.......the only way you're getting what you want is with a time machine, not happening in your life time.
Finally, a perfect review. No gamer can disagree with this, because the score was determined by gamers themselves! Gamers never disagree with other gamers.
I played Starfield for an hour and was like: "... I can probably keep playing this for 100 more hours and get the best Bethesda game so far... or I play Baldur’s Gate 3 for like 2 hours, get the same amount of fun (if even more) and maybe fuck a bear if I play my cards right...." So I refunded Starfield
I can kind of get it though. When you've been looking forward to something so hyped up for so long you're either going to end up very disappointed or very delusional
Mmmm idk man, been getting pretty old. Especially since states are actually passing laws aimed at disenfranchising people. It's funny when it's just some random idiots. It stops being funny when their opinion starts to matter
You are wrong, he is more orangutan-shaped then Gorilla-shaped, and the screaming has a distinct chimp-like quality to the vocals. But these are nitpicks, you are correct in that it is hilarious regardless.
Some games take 40h Some more some less Considering how many hours people have out into fallouts, the elder scrolls, even fucking Witcher 12h intro into 120h Does not seem that bad
cope harder lol, the games you mentioned are fun and enjoyable pretty much from the beginning not 12hrs into them which for the average person is multiple days of playing before it "gets good" which in itself is a very debatable statement@@mateuszkrytyk5711
As a 6 month old bioengineered genetic super-soldier gamer, I can safely say this is one of the best games out of the million I simulate in my head per second. 10/10
it's truly like Skyrim in space! but all the dragons died because they don't know how to make space suits. and all the content is spread out over 1000 planets, so you never get to see 80% of it. plus, magic doesn't work without snow nearby so they had to get rid of it.
As a fellow gamer since 3 BC, i can guarantee that bathesda fulfilled their promise with this game. Both stars and fields are found in this game. Gamers are just looking for anything to be mad about. Be better.
@@fatihozturk5400 to be honest, you shouldn't expect anything out of pretty much any computer game that released recently. I think we all lowered our expectations for games' release days after what happened with Cyberpunk and Forspoken.

The problem is that the company who did it is iron galaxy, the same who did fallout 76 and Tlou 1 which is really bad on pc. The game will be like that for a while.
There is something wholesome about the guy in his 40’s who’s never played a Bethesda game before. I’m sure to him it is one of the most immersive games he’s ever played, and that’s just very sweet to me.
Someone made a mod to remove the pronoun choice and they were banned and doxxed for doing so. You cant call others sensitive when you are literally forcing it down peoples throats m
I love the fact that whenever Dunkey makes a video about a game that let's you shoot innocent people, he always includes clips of him shooting innocent people 😂
Shooting NPCs in this game is unintentionally the funniest and most enjoyable part of the game. The way their (very limited) AI just kind of breaks never fails to get a chuckle out if me.
It's not fun because they are "innocent". It's more of the fact how cardboard cuttings they actually are that you just wanna shoot them. That is why he included what they said before shooting...
Its just so boring, I dont understand the people saying they spend AN ENTIRE DAY on a single one of these boring, lifeless, copy paste planets. I got 20 hours in and called it quits. It just feels like such a step back in so many ways that all it did for me playing Starfield, was make me want to go play Fallout 4. And I did.
“If you build great games, everything would turn around. It’s just…not true.” Perfectly sums up the mentally of the entire AAA gaming industry as a whole.
