You could make a series of this and I don't think I'd ever get bored of it. Having a professional view on our ridiculous space armors is super interesting. Although I think the views on armor sets and characters are more accurate and insightful as bungie was not limited in their wardrobe like players are, as you can't know what parts of the armors players want you to focus on, as one aspect of an armor can fit in with a look, while other details are just there.

How she thinks players pick their fashion: "I want to express my deepest thoughts and emotions through this particular armor because I think it conveys my innermost turmoil, while driving home my passion for this game and how I want to represent myself in it." How players actually pick their fashion: "This shiny. This purple. And I like the funny hat."
@randomuserame
@randomuserame Год назад
Well yes. Most people don't have an intimtate understanding their innermost subconscious self, and, to them, it just comes out as "ooh, shiny" or "ooh, purple". Colors and shapes have psychological and symbolic interpretations and meanings that, in many (but not all) cases, translates across language barriers, much like music can/does. It's more that certain things attract certain kinds of people, and literally thousands of years of data on what types of people pick what kinds of colors/symbols allows us to "reverse engineer" and work out the likely type of person based on their favorite color/symbols. So basically it's along the same lines of the thing where people have favorite colors, but they don't consider the psychological, historical, political, or social underpinnings of what each color means before picking a favorite, they just pick one that they like, and then the meaning behind it is usually pretty decent at revealing some inner psychological workings of that person based on their favorite color at the time.

For instance, there were times when you highlighted minor details/style accents that might otherwise be overlooked (at a glance) and then used those minute details to speak on how they might relate not only to the storyline, but to the individual player as well. It was really fun to see someone so quickly understand the story of these characters through strictly visual story telling, it's always satisfying to see someone who's good at their job

Thank you Dr. Reid! It was really interesting to hear your interpretation of the guardian fashion choices. Would love to see Dr. Reid and Datto on a guardian fashion show judges panel!
