FASTER Than a TRAXXAS SLASH!! WLTOYS Cross Country 12423 Review! 

I was rooting traxxas all the way! Boy was I wrong! I'll tell you what...this thing really impressed me with all its features and speed! One legged wheelie? What? The craziest part is that it's brushed, not brushless! That's huge! Wow! 👍 for this truck for sure!

I had one of these, the one with the rock bouncer body. While surprisingly quick off the line, it won't beat any 1/10 rc offered by other companies...only reason it did in this video was because the slash was in training mode, limiting speed to 50%. The rock bouncer one I had did hold up for a good amount of time, but as with any RC, it did break and buying replacement parts took longer because of where you have to buy them from.

It sounds like he is trying his hardest to seem excited to, advertise it even tho he is not excited at all lol

"Performs better than any traxxas ?!?!" I had no idea that overheating electronic speed controls, flimsy plastics, and shit run times are characteristics of a quality product! Its a good bang for buck but in no way is it any better than ANY name brand hobby grade rc. In other words... whatever hallucinogen you've been smoking, you need to share, don't hog it all!

Did you actually just say nothing compares to wl toys quality and craftsmanship? Did the check already clear?

Pretty unprofessional to talk nasty to people giving their opinion on what you posted. It is quick for a $70 beginner rc but wouldn't beat a slash in anything. That truck was clocked at 23mph top speed. I would suggest reviewing some higher end rc's but that's just my thoughts. You really do get what you pay for in rc hobby and I am not a traxxas fan at all. In fact I sold all mine but one. Good luck

That Slash was in training mode. It limits it to 50% throttle.

It's a fast rc,I have one and a slash,but the slash can survive a 10 ft drop,and it's not made of cheap plastic

Points for the enthusiasm and salesmanship. You've done your job. Now before anyone buys hopefully they read these comments first. I was sold by a few of these (probably paid for) promotions and bought the WLToys Across model 12428. Fast, and it comes with the led lights but I would not waste my $75 if I could do it all over again. The Across gears and diff broke after only a couple light runs. Save a bit more and get yourself a Traxxas Bandit, Slash, or a Rustler.

Which means: - No oil filled shocks - No craftsmanship: it's Chinese bang for buck. Which is fun, but Traxxas vehicles are much nicer made and more durable. - No 40mph (watch every 12428 speedrun). - Not faster than any Slash model - Slash = 1/10 scale, etc. Let us all watch decent and honest reviews and not give this guy any more views! Plus it's probably not a smart move bashing on people that comment on your videos, if you want your channel to grow.

wow you usually sling a lot of BS in your so-called reviews but you've really out did yourself in this one, in fact i think this one is going to have to be filed in the fiction section! the stock traxxas slash is a 1/10 scale RC not a 1/8, the after market does make a couple different 1/8 conversion kits but that's not what's in this video and speaking of the slash in the video, why don't you turn the throttle trim back to 100% and race them again, the 540 motor WLToys is using in their toy rc's is quick but but not quicker then the 12 turn motor in the slash when it's getting 100% power. also the 12423 is actually classified as a climbing vehicle not a short course stuck, that's why it has the fully articulating 4 link suspension with a solid live axle rear end which is also why the left front wheel comes of the ground under acceleration, there's no solid chassis connection to control the torque twist and also why it can't be a short course truck, SC trucks have to turn, can't turn on a track with one wheel always off the ground. and as far as it being hobby grade, yeah right i don't even need to correct that crap nobody's that stupid. RC Moments wants over $100 for the thing, it's only $59 at gearbest which is what a toy grade rc should cost.

DUDE it's a brushed slash that's why man. the best of slash which ultimate will blow this across in the water . but I do realize that it is a good price to performance ratio.! but you should consider that slash is traxxas and it's parts support and it's brushless ready transmission

I have a 2wd slash brushed motor and the cross country. Short course truck and i had the slash in training mode and it was slower than the other truck but when i put it into sport mode it was faster than that other truck

For the price and especially price of parts and durability you buy 3 of these or just one and buy 4 batteries. I have a traxxas slash but I'm to scared to take it out because I can't afford the parts.

I just looked up the top speed of a Traxxas Slash (STOCK) and its 22 MPH. The WLToys Cross County will hit speeds above 30 MPH. So technically a lot of people in the comments are uneducated fanboys of the Traxxas name. They make higher quality RC’s but that doesn’t mean it’s faster!!! Slower if anything cause it weighs so much!!! The 540 Motor on the WLToys isn’t a slouch!💯

What type of traxxas slash is that? Is that a brushed traxxas slash or brushless and what voltage are you using.

Definitely a little ripper straight out of the box only problem I had with mine and my wife's is the rear drive shaft keeps breaking I ordered everything in the drive shaft for WL toys and broke them all I finally did some modifications and put a two-wheel drive Traxxas drive shaft in it ain't had a problem since in the battery wouldn't last no more than 5 to 10 minutes

This is the car that got me in trouble and now I own 7 Traxxas cars I bought a brushed version of this for 60 over a year ago

My 6 yr old had a WLToys truck. The plastic gears in the transmission broke and I had to replace them. Unless this has metal transmission gears its not comparable to todays hobby grade rc trucks which come with metal gears stock for durability. I ended up just buying my son a used 1/16 scale Traxxas slash vxl.

Hi! Does there body shells fit each other?

That Wltoys car is good value, but I've recently got a (used,brushless) 2wd Slash & it takes off way faster than the one in the vid. I'd also question how the Wltoys car handles; the Slash reminds me of old rear wheel drive cars I've had in the past & is very controllable & smooth like a scaled down real car. The Wltoys car seems to be a kids basher; nothing wrong with that, but they are different beasts. I'll stick to my Slash thanks.

For the price, it's a nice entry-level toy. Kinda like the old school grasshopper. No way like a Slash though. The solid axle in rear is a disadvantage for handling. Again, decent beginner's basher for the price.

Actually, I got a good question: which version of the Traxxas Slash was it? the 2wd and also the 4x4. 4x4's are insanely fast. I still think the WLTOYS cross country can still get you into the race track with other rc cars and have fun but I wouldn't go as far as saying that its the best out the market, especially against arma which are arguably the true "slash killer".

Some WLToys RCs can be fairly quick but compairing it to a slash and then saying it’s better is just silly everyone knows which is better but that said on a tight budget for a bit of fun get the WLToys there not bad just not even close to Traxxas and the other big brands for speed or quality guess it depends have you got £100 to spend or £600 cause to buy a enough kit and the Traxxas slash 1/10 4x4 that’s the kind of money you will need myself I would rather spend more to get the beast I know is a great Basher but the WLToys for my kids to mess about with would be good as a starter RC as well and you can buy the WLToys range and parts from Banggood, they have plenty of optional upgrade parts to replace anything broken

My slash has proline trenchers for tires and is powered by a 2200kv mamba monster x with 32/86 gearing. Not dissing on the cross country but my slash wound eat it alive. And on 3s my slash does backflips, it wheelys so high it flips completely and land on its wheels.

1 take the slash out of trainer mode 2 get a proper driver for the slash 3 the wltoys doesn't do 40mph

It's clear that Traxxas is the standard, and that's for a reason.

This truck performs horribly. It's not even funny how bad the suspension is. Just get a slash. It might be fast and shit but the durability is absolutely horrible. everytime i ran it there was a strong burnt smell. Then the front diff stripped, then it kept cutting out and then it died (after approx. 1.5 months). Now i'm having zero problems with my slash. Edit: the wltoys is actually a copy of an older rc car.

i have 3 of this.. they do not go that fast unless you stick a 3s battery in it. will not pop a "one legged wheely" with the regular battery... max speed as factory is 21 mph. will do 29 with a 3s... i wont recommend using 3s as it could eventually burn the board and the motor. i just did it for a test... how ever it is a nice cheap truck... my kids loves them

Says it's fully waterproof with a big gaping hole in the top side of the brushed motor...yeah okay! And it's only faster with better gears, brushless motor, and a 3s or 4s esc setup. But stock it is NOT hitting that proclaimed "35mph+" just like my rustler vxl says 70+ mph on the box, yet it wont even touch that unless I go 4 or 6s. False advertisement from all companies, but regardless it's still a good and pretty quick RC as i also have the green buggy version of the wltoys and it almost keeps up with my rustler vxl and my HPI MT2 nitro.
