Funny story. The (#4) Lexus GS450h you pictured for $5,977 is the exact car I purchased! It wasn't one like it... I bought THAT EXACT car. What's the odds I'd run across this video and see my own car?!?!?!? 😂😂😂😂 It's a blast to drive btw and I managed to haggle with them down to 4700.00.
@@PrinzAquatic hmm.. Someone has never owned a lexus before.. This will be number 22 I've purchased in the past 8 years (90's-mid 2000's) and zero have been a "money pit".. My 2000 LS400 even had 500k miles on it without even a CEL. On this specific GS450h I had the hybrid battery tested and it's charging flawless.. had it on a lift and zero leaks, doesnt smoke, all of the electronics work perfect (a/c will freeze you out). I bought a new 12vbattery (from lexus) for $300 and paid a PDR guy to fix some dings. I've done some paint correction and replaced some typical worn out leather and she's really turning some heads now. The car has amazing power and gets great MPG with loads of features. Well worth every penny I spent. If the engine blows I can easily part it out and get my $ back. Can't be scared to take a risk every now and then @Prinz Aquatic.
If u have a good reliable mechanic and get ur parts on sale or on places like rock auto the maintenance cost arent gonna much more than your typical american or japanese car
@@Scotford_Maconochie One of the reasons for their excessive depreciation is their exorbitant parts and labor costs. Many mechanics will steer clear of these overly-engineered and complex mechanisms. Your opinion is appreciated, but inaccurate.
@@Scotford_Maconochie oil change for that Mercedes is 200 ish dollars and a Nissan, ford ,Toyotas,Honda sedans are $110 🤷♂️ big difference that’s not counting a broken head light lol those are much worse brand new
Unfortunately these cars are cheap because generally speaking they are nightmares to own. The Lexus cars are a slightly different story but the ls460 and gs450h when something does break can get STUPID depending on the car. As far as those euro cars. No one wants them because used they cost as much as a new car payment to maintain. They look great but as someone who worked for a few luxury car dealers there is not a car on this list I would personally own. And yes I realize that is my opinion and may not be anyone else's lol
Every time i watch these videos, i just go running to used car websites to look for all of them. Plus i'm always looking for a sleeper to embarass some guy driving a Golf R at the lights🚦... Great informative content😍
I have a volkswagen phaeton! its pretty nice, rides well, only thing about it is that the maintenance costs on it is kind of high compared to most cars.
Back in 2019 I bought a low mileage 2013 Jaguar XF sedan. Gorgeous inside and out, and fairly reliable: only needed an EGR valve cleaning and a parking sensor replacement. Love it!
@@vaultdweller2287 facts, people want to complain that luxury cars are unreliable, they just can’t afford the maintenance that keeps them on the road lol
Exactly, someone said it best, the reason why they are so cheap is because the price on your number one the S550 will cost arm and leg to fix the suspension system which is the same for Porsche. The only good deal on here is the Lexus LS, probably the most reliable or the volkswagon. An older car with those many miles such as Audi or Infiniti
I agree Not on the vw part tho I owned a cc and it was the worst car in my near 30 car and truck ownership, also as a mechanics son I saw a herd a million stories of people shocked or abandoning their vw because of the repair cost Just as expensive as Audi, bmw ect But the 19 year old girl buying a Tiguan didn’t expect that When you buy a jag or a Land Rover I’m pretty sure you know what yer in store for. I sure did. Now I drive an fj cruiser because I’m old and boring and I don’t need to stunt on nobody anymore to feel better about myself.
you guys need to find deals with under 100k miles all these deals are bs who in their right mind is buying any of these when u can only drive them for a month before they start falling appart with 200k miles on them
I noticed that many of these cars are high in mileage. I don't know many of them except for the Lexus that they can reach 200,000 miles. And the pricing of the cars you're talking about mean Finance needed. So as the mileage gets higher up on these cars they will break down at the same time you making payments. In my opinion I would rather have the car paid off if something breaks down (no warranty) at least you have the option to junk it if it's no good. Verses keep paying for the car with no warranty with major motor problems or something. Just my opinion maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. But I know the Maserati on its own doesn't have a good dependable record. Maybe it should be the 10 best Dependable cars that you can get at a decent price. Everyone knows those European cars are arm and a leg to maintain and fix.
the stated depreciation % is kinda irrelevant unless you put depreciation per year. the 2008 GS450H depreciates 6.6% per year as opposed to the 2016 ghibli depreciating at 14%/year
I don't know where you live but in my area all these vehicles are 1.5 times your prices. Used car price are outrageously marked up and most car lots are taking advantage of consumers.
@@mikeeysaman6621 no brand new ones 😳 you will be very hard pressed to find a 2012 or 2013 A7 for $11k even with 150k+ miles on it, it's very misleading!
Yeah. Got mine for $42K + taxes. But it's a 2016 model (restyled, like the white one in the video with the cargo hauler on top, only it was either RS7 or had RS7 grille installed) with 46K miles and everything but the night vision, so $76K new. An awesome family GT car that you can push but don't want to because it so smoooooooooooooooth. But timing chain tensioner replacement = engine out = 10K+ easily.
@@gunner.j no cars in this list are worth it on this list outside of the Lexus’s 😂😂 I just listed a luxury car that depreciated hard like the video says
I got a 2008 535i for 6500. Put new index 12 injectors ebay 19t's and fbo and it's over 600 hp now. Total I spent 12 and did all the work myself. Not only can I keep up with a hellcat but I see people selling molded ones like mine for 20k. Oh ya and I have 120k miles on it.
Ya know this and most of the sites like it are geared to, ( yes I used the word, " geared " deliberately ), two types of people, those who are already proficient in auto mechanical skills or have buddies who are with just about every Mechanic's tools under the sun with a garage to work on them or those who are living rent free in their parent's basement and can afford to throw money at qualified mechanics to repair and maintain their 300 to 500 hp Nightmare " Bargain " vehicle. That said I have to say the Lexus vehicles are probably the least problematic buuut ya gotta figure the previous owner(s) are selling them bc they abused the ever lovin' 💩 outta them❗ Stop me when I'm lyin'❗
Bought my 08 ls460l from original owner with 98,550 miles on it for 16k all maintenance done at Lexus. U can find them in great shape if you know where to look. Got the luxury package and it yea it’s over 10k but the car new was 91k with the options it has.
Not comparing apples to apples. Some of these are prices for 2016 models and some are 2008 and older. No mention of mileage either. I fully expect a 15 year old car to have lost value compared to new msrp.
Don’t buy any of these vehicles unless you got deep pockets for maintenance. Lexus being the king of reliability compared to the others by hundreds of thousands of miles
I feel like you can buy nearly any car for cheap with this many miles. Sure if you don't drive anywhere you can get a few years out of them, but if you actually drive anywhere, the Lexus' and the Nissan are the only ones worth anything with the mileage being that high.
These cars have depreciated Good Don't be fooled because you are paying a lower price for these cars when it's time to do maintenance and or replace parts the price remains high. Word of wisdom, if you can't afford these cars brand new don't buy these cars used especially when the mileage is over 100.000 on the odometer. Reality will drain you financially.
Look after you car, stop thrashing it. Treat iit like you woold treat a loving mum. Respect it the way you would. What would i know i see so many videos of people mistreting cars doing burn outs iec why is that what excites you and fulfils your purpose. You are enough and every day is a new day to head towards a life that you could look back on and be proud of.
That's a wise thing to do 👍. That's what I would do if I couldn't afford the maintenance any longer on my old Jaguar (XF, 2013) and BMW (6 Series, 2008).
A bit misleading. You might be able to find these cars at these really low prices, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to be in good running condition, or running at all. Seem as if these cars were cherry picked, rather than searched on actual depreciation value. You should only include cars that are certified running, so that you know what the real depreciation value is.
The video seems rushed for some reason. They only showed the good stuff about the vehicles but I would have like some bad stuff like the mazy is very unreliable and breaks down constantly or Jaguar not being the more reliable company on the planet.
if your paying those prices it has accidents, high mileage, or both. simple as that. better off buying a cpo for more money knowing it has a much better chance of surviving with good maintenance.
Alright. I stopped at #9 the Audi. Of course a car that is used will be cheaper. Only those desperate to drive a hood ornament will pay $11,000 for a very well used (130,000 miles) car that is a decade old. You are not likely to get 5 year financing for it and will it last another 5 years anyway?
