*Extract from the Album Notes:* 02 - 9-bit Expedition This is one of my favorite songs from this album. I created it specifically for the tutorial world in Dustforce, which has retro, Tron-style visuals. It evokes the 8-bit era of games, but in high-resolution. That's why this track has 8-bit style instruments, but with a modern sheen. It's a bit more than 8-bit, hence the name.

The fact that this song is nostalgic to me really shows how much it holds up. I remember first hearing it at the end of my freshman year of high school. It got me through a lot of stress and huge obstacles and challenges in my life. This is definitely one of those songs I’ll keep coming back to as I continue to grow older.

This is not just a great game song; it is just great song to jam to period. I love jamming to this in my car on a nice summer day. There isnt a song that makes me feel more carefree and untouchable.

So when u was a kid I loved downloading demos for games on Xbox and when I downloaded dust force I think I put a bit too much time into the demo mainly because of this song

I pirated it, beat all the already unlocked levels, all the silver levels, and two gold levels in about 20-30 hours, decided I needed to buy the game, bought it, then beat all those levels plus a really, really hard one in six hours. Is it ever amazing.

I was kinda missing this tune after beating the tutorial level and not hearing it again for the rest of the game, having it play again during the penultimate challenge of Giga Difficult made running that level an awesomely Zen experience
