I got two pun stories I'll share one . I know the store joe talking about . on the corner of prospect . One night me and my cousin out cruising for chics . we passed that corner . They held battles and cyphers every Friday &Saturday night almost . I was nice so as I look I see this Faaat dude with the crowd awwh struck and looking up like he teaching class or some shit . From the car I can tell he had it . But I knew I was nice so I tell my cousin watch me eat fat man with the lyrics. Jump out walking to the crowd I can hear him but not really . I get up on the cyphers and really HEARD him . tap my cousin said let's go . walking away he like you not gonna battle him . I said (NO) did you hear him ? Fat man nasty on the mic like project elevators and stair cases . I didnt want no parts of that. RIP to pun . one of my favorite rappers and top fives
Dead ina midda a litta Italy we did we know that we riddled some middlemen who didn’t do diddly RIP BP and the 90’s rap scene Miss them days- Back in tha day when I was a teenaga, before I had status and before I had a pager
capital punishment and don cartagena are 2 of the greatest rap albums to come out of the 90s. 1998 was an insane year for albums. new york was killing it. honestly, search rap albums that released in 1998 and see for yourself how many legendary records dropped.
You aren't lying. I've always said it's a toss up between 94 and 98 as the BEST hip hop years period. Crazy to think Puff and Mase were wearing shiny suits that year and despite that all those classics came out. There was still room for the real shit even if the fuck shit was still dominating. That isn't the case nowadays, everything has to meet a certain set of criteria or it simply gets no push from a record label and no play from the stations. Every now and again a song that bends the mold a bit sneaks through and then before you know it there are 20 other songs and artists that sound just like that new joint. We will never see another year like 98 as far as diversity and actual lyrical ability. Too much risk on the labels part ... shame
U right hip hop started in the bronx everybody got along black and brown poverty will have u spitting rhymes bcuz u broke hungry or homeless staying in a shelter or just expressing your pain I love hip hop I'm a die hard hip hop fan the mcs lyrics r going to step up thru this coronavirus stop hating and hip hop will survive
That boi Pun sound like a wild nigga foreal. Y'all know that's how that shit be you always got that one wild ass potna that be showing out, but dont know he really showing out. The story was wild as hell though.
How in the fuck is it possible that I've heard rappers that weren't even Pun's twin tell story's that were way funnier, exciting, more detailed, etc... and these two bullshit stories about Pun were mostly Joe's stories ft. Big Pun... FAIL
This album Top 3 of Fat Joe period... I'm tired of the haters and not supporting Joe when his music is the Hip Hop we need, then he makes it and they still don't go and buy..... Fuck It i went to BestBuy got me two copies, i aint got the money FrenchMontana has to buy the rack to give out but i got my two.... Big Up to FatJoe and the music he keeps putting out... FUCK that HATER 50Cent vlog about Joe album sales.... R.I.P. Big Pun Best To Ever Do It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear that Joey. We miss that nigga so much right now. Wait to hear this track I am doing for him in memory of PUn from that blind rapper Lightsout from the BX scream at me Joey.
Yo I had no iddea that Cook Coke (Joey) signed Pun. I thought it was just the opposite!! I thought it was a Biggie to Lil Cease joint with Junior MAF! WoW even down to the cracking jokes it seem like Biggie and Pun had a LOT in common!! Wow, Joey was really in Pun shadow,...LITERALLY like Cease as in (and still is lol) Biggie's shadow. Wow we really are missin the best people the best!! I still say that Pac was so much more a personality a revolution(!) in &of himself, poet ect than a lyricist.
You're kinda right. I just looked it up and *Cypress Hill* was the 1st group to get 2x platinum in *'91* but I'm quite sure Mellow Man Ace wasn't part of the group no more at that time So the 1st Latinos to reach platinum (2x platinum in fact) were Sen Dog and B-Real with the album called Cypress Hill Big Pun was the 1st SOLO artist to reach platinum but not 2x platinum in *'98* But maybe the info I found isn't totally right I doubt it tho. I can't remember those times by myself lol
I don't know who... they was pounding this nicca so legendary right, no lie, it look, I didnt see, I don't belive, it never happend, it almost look like this niccas gona trow this nicca out of the brigde, they didn't try, but it felt like it. PRICELESS
