Fat Pets Are A Ticking Time Bomb - how you can save and extend their life?
The reason why fat pets are a ticking time bomb is because obesity places them at risk of many diseases and health ailments.
A lifetime weight study of Labrador Retriever Dogs showed that dogs who were overweight lived two years less than dogs of an acceptable weight.
You can prevent this from happening by following my tips:
🐾 Assess your pet’s current weight and determine if they need to lose any - you should be able to easily feel their ribs, see a waist and a tummy tuck. If you can’t - it’s time to reduce those calories
🐾 Work out the daily food requirement for your pet and stick to it. Get the whole family on board. You don’t want anyone sneaking treats.
🐾 Include treats in the daily calorie allowance - if you don’t do this, then you are potentially sabotaging all your good work good low calorie treat options include like zucchini, cucumber, watermelon and apple
🐾 Provide plenty of daily exercise - most dogs require a minimum of 20mins twice a day this may be reduced for seniors. Cats, make sure you provide plenty of play time - fishing lines, chasing balls and toy mice are great options.
