I remember I had worked an 18 hour shift with no real breaks... and was super busy the whole time .. from 9 am until 3am the next day. Driving home... all I remember was getting on the express way ... I woke up about two exits past my last memory still driving behind the wheel going full speed... I had gone at least 4 miles... completely knocked out sleep. It was nothing but a miracle that I’m here. The expressway I was on was perfectly straight, so when I feel asleep I was in the middle lane... and was still in the middle lane about 4 miles later when I came too. It was around 3:30 in the morning so no traffic was out. I will never forget that experience as long as I live. I could have died that night all over a job that was not even worth it. I was dog tired when I left work.. I’m 52 now.. that happened when I was around 21 years old and I still cringe at the thought of just how long I was sleep in a moving car. I give GOD ALL THE GLORY.. Angels were truly watching over me. For people who live in Atlanta Ga, I had just got off of 285 on to hwy 78 ... that was my last memory.. I woke up on 78 literally passing Brocket Rd when I came to. You know 78 is very straight for that stretch of road... it was nothing but God’s grace that kept me.. Hallelujah!!!! Thank You Jesus!!!!!

I had the same thing happen to me in Cartersville GA heading towards Euharlee on 411. I starting dosing off after working 3rd shift. I remembered passing a convenience store on my right and then waking up 2 miles down the road when the sound of the car going off the side of the road woke me up. Scared me to death. If I start feeling the least bit tired behind the wheel now, I let someone else drive or pull over. Definitely blessed that day. 🙏

Was in a pretty bad head on collision a little over three weeks ago, firefighters that were on scene helped the suspect and when police got there they wouldn't even help me keep pressure on my mom's wounds, they just kept pegging me with the same questions over and over again, once the ambu got there, they helped tremendously with my mom. I didn't need much attention I just had some superficial cuts on my arms and face luckily. Police need more training implemented to help preserve life, because they did jack shit for us.
@SopaDeQuesoCaliente
@SopaDeQuesoCaliente 4 года назад
@@devenprzybylski6639 Most police officers are trained in first aid. However, this being the US, if the officer does something to cause more harm because they didn't know or not trained. That is a lawsuit against them. I have seen many officers do a lot more than they are asked to do. Like jump into burning buildings to save someone or provide life saving first aid. The problem that I have is that most people just see a bad apple and judge the whole apple tree. That ain't cool because that's just leads to other issues.
@devenprzybylski6639
@devenprzybylski6639 4 года назад
@@SopaDeQuesoCaliente I understand they're trained but more need to utilize it. In the state of shock I was in it felt like everything was spinning inside my head and I had to have bystanders help apply pressure. That is all the cop had to do, and there was 4 police cars on scene and 1 firetruck. I had two cops sitting there drilling me with questions while I'm still trying to figure out what to do for my mother, they could've easily stepped in sooner or literally any of the other cops could have helped me and the bystanders, they didn't. Not blaming the officers particularly, but the neglect of training to deal with that scene was abhorrent. They wouldn't have done harm by putting pressure on my mom's head while I figure out my own injuries. had the bystanders not been there she would've died in the hospital, she was in critical condition when we arrived. It's not just a few bad apples it's the system man, there needs to be better training for people who are enforcing the laws. Medical training should be standard for law enforcement everywhere, and I don't mean a 20 hour class. Something that needs to be dealt with in depth because police 9/10 times are first on the scene and a matter of minutes can save or doom somebody.

I was an EMT in NY. Despite the surrounding noise there's always an eerie silence around death. When you walk in the room before you even see a body you can literally hear the silence. It's hard to explain but even in this video I can hear it
@kelliethornton7986
@kelliethornton7986 3 года назад
@Alan cZar There is nothing whatsoever political about first responder PTSD. You ever vent to someone over grief or anger? Should you stop being 'political' and just be silent? Should we suffer everyone else's trauma in silence? We're people too. We carry the horrible things we see. The horrible things people do to one another. Talking about it is one of the treatments for it. Is a high responder suicide rate acceptable for not being 'political' and staying silent? That is selfishly horrible advice. You should probably stay silent on things you clearly do not understand.

If it’s any comfort, I’m pretty sure this man didn’t suffer. I would imagine this was pretty quick. I read another comment from someone who knew this man. He said he had heard the driver worked an overnight shift and fell asleep while driving. My heart goes out. I’ve been there. I’ve realized a few times when I was dozing off and have always pulled over somewhere and napped for a bit. It’s roughy working 16-18 hrs a day for 1 or 2 weeks straight. Man this video had me in tears. I'm a 30 year old male and 11 years sober. I was involved in a accident due to me drinking and driving. And thank God no one was killed. I was in a small modified Honda and t boned a Bronco at 90 +. The motor and windshield had my body pinned to the seat. Spent a month in icu and 6 months in wheel chair, I shattered each limb in multiple places, nearly lost an eye, and a foot. I thankfully sustained the worse injuries. And all others involved were able to at least walk. The pain I caused others and my self haunted me and still does. I took the pain and fear and turned it into fuel to change my life. And always try and help others now. I was a 19 year old drop out drunk, and was on a path for drugs and alcohol and a hard life. I was sentenced prison time, and that was the best thing that ever happened to me. Please anybody reading this who can relate, please take my mistake and use it for fuel for your own struggles. Funny thing is the other driver admitted fault for running a red light. But i accept full responsibilty and consider the accident my fault. Life is beautiful and the old saying is true. "Life is what you make it". Cherish it, love it. Spread love and strength.be a role model. Life isn't easy, but train your self to love the work and endurance. Where ever you may be, take steps to grow each and every day. Seek to learn more every day. And always have an open mind. Your way and my way is not always the right way. Remember that. And most important be open minded and always absorb. We all know right from wrong. So make sure to only absorb the good people and life have to offer.

Thanks for the support, I love the positivity. Keep it coming and as for the civic I'm still into my jdm cars. I had a e.g. (1993) hatch with a gsr swap and full type r interior. Full suspension and lots of jdm goodies. I remember how bad it hurt to lose my car. I grew up less fortunate and my car was my everything. I put every penny I had into it and it was one of the cleanest around town. But in the end I'm so glad it happened the way it did. I truly think I would be completely lost In life without that one incident. And I truly wouldn't have the appreciation and love, I have for life now.

Which is why I think it was suicide. They might as well blow all their money on a fast car (which Idk why they won’t have gotten a sports car instead of a sport edition of an suv) if they were gonna die. And there’s just no way they weren’t aiming for that bridge. They were purposely going fast and I think they purposely hit the bridge but idk the whole story

A man was killed early Saturday morning when the SUV he was driving veered off a freeway connector and slammed into an overpass in Boyle Heights, authorities saidsingle-vehicle crash happened about 3:06 a.m. on a transition road from the northbound 5 Freeway to the eastbound 10 Freeway (map), according to the California Highway Patrol.preliminary investigation indicated the Jeep Cherokee was traveling at an “extremely high rate of speed” when it went up an embankment and was pinned underneath the overpass, said CHP Officer Justin Paul.There were no skid marks or other evidence that the driver applied the brakes before the collision, Paul said. The impact of the crash flattened the top half of the SUV, which was pulled out from between the embankment and bridge by a Los Angeles Fire Department tow truck. The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A SigAlert was issued by the CHP, and the connector was closed for several hours. The road was reopened by 7:30 a.m. The cause of the incident is under

I was an EMT. Once I worked an 18-wheeler rollover. At first they thought the driver was missing, but I found him. The post between the windshield and the driver-side window had sheered off and impaled him, between the eyes, to the back wall of the cab. His head looked like a donut on a stick, with eyes. Never quite forgot that.

I was stopped at a red light with cars in front of and beside me when a car crashed into rear of my car. Another year I was stopped at a red light when someone clipped my rear bumper. Someone else driving crazy can still get you killed. I was helpless to do anything in either of those situations because I was blocked by other cars. It is frustrating when all you can do is brace for impact and hope you survive.

I would make an argument in this very unusual situation for pulling the entire car out, even if the driver was not a "DB" which of course they could not immediately confirm. The Cement is fairly flat and consistent. The chances of doing further damage to a living occupant would be very low if an attempt was made to pull the entire vehicle out as a unit by the rear frame (which they would have to dig to find, use tow points in the bumper, or pull by the wheels which would be my first choice). The advantages of this far outweigh the chances and unlikelyhood of causing further damage to an occupant. And if the occupant was alive, would vastly increase the speed and ability to do an extraction and creating survivability. If they had removed that rear door and found a live person, it is still unlikely they would have been able to easily remove him/her from that crush position. By removing the entire car from the wedge, they have the option to peel any door, remove the roof, etc. They have full access, better visability, and once they eyeball the condition of a victim they have more, and better options. Unfortunately there are a bunch of by the book reasons that Firefighters will go by the book, which means stabalize in place. This is the right approach MOST of the time. But as an ex-firefighter I can tell you that sometimes you have to toss the book for common sense, while understanding the reason for the protocals as you break them, so that you can minimize the risk. Obviously pulling the car back you would have to have a hose line and anchor lines, and fluid barriers to control risk factors. But all of those things can be set up much more quickly than attempting a crush rescue where there is an alternative. A fallen roadway for instance, you have no choice. Here, you had a choice, and a strong possibility that a 1 foot pull would completely free the car from being stuck. Then it could be carefully pulled back further for the access required. Not second guessing these guys. Most firefighters would have done it exactly this way, and for good reasons, and policies. And it was extremely likely that they knew that although unconfirmed they were dealing with an instant fatality which basically turns this into a training exercise and body extraction. But there could have been passengers, unseen children etc, and the advantage of a full vehicle pull, is TIME. And sometimes TIME is worth the Risk if you want to save a savable life. I miss the FIrefighting. Although I saw stressful things, it was very rewarding and solving problems like this and saving lives was the greatest reward.
@mexital1159

Gotta agree. Better off pulling it out. Vehicle was under compression from getting wedged. Cutting it weakens the structure causing it to compress further. Pull it out to relieve pressure.

Regular folks could not deal and shouldn’t have to. If your calling is to help and or save others and you go on to make a career of it- you’re a special kind of person.
