@henryhenriquez "Saber with Avalon is immune to them" First off, we hardly know anything about Avalon, we do know it's a noble phantasm however. Rin says that Noble Phantasms are comparable to Sorcery. You just contradicted yourself. Saber does have very high magic resistance, but she can still be injured by Sorceries or something similar. Also, we were talking about Gil, who can't use Avalon, and Rin fired a spell at him, not pure mana. Doing the latter would be stupid at that point.
@narutardkyuubi read the novel. sorcery is magic, they are called true magic. and saber with avalon is imune to them. rin fired unrefined mana aka raw mana at gil didnt do anything. i think it was gil mirror treasur in his GOB that fucks any magic up.
@henryhenriquez They only come out really fast when Gil wants to sword-spam somebody. He had to have left an opening if Shirou could lop his arm off in UBW. Also, we hardly know anything about Sorcery or how it works, except that it's WAY more powerful than Magic. They are not the same (sans Reality Marble effects). Additionally, Rin never fired pure mana at Gil. She probably could except in would be ineffective with anything but the Gem Sword which she gets in Heaven's Feel, where Gil's dead.
@henryhenriquez Yeah, in case if you forgot, Gil needs to actually pull EA from outside the Gate, charge it up, then fire it. Zelretch could probably hop into another universe, slip back in and blow up Gil with the Gem Sword or something. Also, Magic doesn't work against Gil because he a lot of anti-magic wards in the Gate. Zelretch uses Sorcery, they're different. Or, he could use the Gem Sword which fires pure mana, which wouldn't be blocked. Just pointing that out.
I don't know...maybe some slaps on the face to Shiki:p Killing a Servant with the MEoDP is equals of exploding every bit of prana left inside of the Servant. Because the Servants have differnt conception of 'death'.
@henryhenriquez First, Gil stopped firing off swords when he realized he was losing. He wanted to use EA to pop open UBW but got his arm lopped off before that. I'm pointing out that using EA leaves an opening. It's not perfect. Additionally, Rin narrates that Sorcery is different from Magic. Saber isn't immune to all magic, or else she would've destroyed UBW just by being in it. Also, tactics are important. The idea is to use the Gem Sword to blow off Gil's head from behind, not challenge EA.
Yeah...probably Gilgamesh is the reason why the Archimedeses(The Types of different planets) wouldn't dare to attack Earth before Gaia's death.:p(I mean the story of Notes) Imagine few EA shots as welcome gift...:p
@AssassinMura Well, I don't know the details about Kaleidoscope. I'm just using the Gem Sword as an example. I know he probably has a whole factory of tricks under his sleeve, but the only one we know about is the Gem Sword
@narutardkyuubi I'm a little late to this debate, but why would Zelretch use the Gem Sword? Isn't it just used to imitate one aspect of his abilities? I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a limit to how much mana he can pull from other dimensions since the channeling isn't done through a medium. He did take out crimson moon iirc.
@henryhenriquez That's only when she has Avalon. Also, I thought we were talking about Gil. I'm pretty sure that what the conversation was about, Gil's resistance to magic, not Saber's. Furthermore, if you wanted to end the conversation, at least have the decency to put a source. List the quote in game, or side-material, or nasu interview (although it's not like that one's reliable). I don't need a bibliography, just know where it's stated. You generally need that in a discussion.
Akashi? First time I saw Akasha's name spelled that way. Technically, it's her third personality Ado Edem and ORT and the Ultimate Ones are still stronger.

@narutardkyuubi you know that basickly all weapons in GOB come out instantly right? sorcery and magic are the same. the true magic works the same. saber would OWN zeltrech. becuase she is immune to magic especially with avalon. also Rin fired pure mana at gilgamesh didnt do anything.

Simple...Gaia's dead so the counter force isn't working. That's why the Types are attacking. And against Archer? Against a serious Gilgamesh Archer is weakling. Hehas about half dozen swords with strenght similar to Excalibur.

You said "It is on the level of true magic that transcends all magecraft" the True magics, or Sorceries as I've read in my translation, are the strongest, so how can something part of the Five True Magics/Sorceries be stronger than them? Also, I've already stated that Saber can't be hurt with modern magic, since Sorceries aren't part of that. Rin's jewel was an A-rank pre-charged spell. She states herself that she stockpiles insta-spells.
ye i know lets not go into that, otherwise will look like idiots all i know its stated hes gil arch enemy even gil hates him for being a faker, but who killed gaia i never read notes heard about it and how the main caracter dies
It's the matter of Gilgamesh underestimates her or not. Gilgamesh from FSN is a bit weakened and less serious than at the time of Fate/Zero. Discussing vs battles are sometimes really pointless.
@narutardkyuubi GIB was being countered hard by UBW. so no sword spam. and he is less skilled with a sword then shirou. not really there are sorcery types and saber is immune to them all. and agian g UBW route castle scene. pure mana no effect. the gen sword pails in comparison to EA
It's a pity but I had to say Akashi Shiki is the strongest character in Type-Moon series. She is the storage of all Servants as well. Akasha Shiki = True Personality of Ryougi Shiki
ye only arcued can win agianst servants, but i dont think she can agianst the king of heroes since hes practically hacks with his EA that can blow up anything including the world
