This is a TV broadcast of the Philadelphia Catholic League 4A Football Championship game between the Father Judge Crusaders and La Salle Explorers at Northeast High School on Saturday November 15, 2008. Both teams, along with St. Joe's Prep, finished 5-1 in the division. La Salle came into the championship with an overall record of 8-2 and had won 4 straight games. Father Judge was 8-3 overall and were winners of 6 straight. Judge had defeated La Salle in regular season 28-14 on October 3, 2008. Judge beat Cardinal O'Hara 30-14 in the semi-final game in which Judge running back Curt Wortham rushed 26 times for a school record of 294 yards and 4 TDs. This eclipsed the record of 272 yards by Jerry Magallanes in 1981 which also came in a playoff game. La Salle defeated St. Joe's Prep 31-28 to get to the PCL Championship game. In that game, La Salle quarterback, Drew Loughery, broke the city record for passing yards in a postseason game by going 21 for 34 for 378 yards and 4 TDs.
