You lot are delusional! It's pathetic, why have the old man played by a black man too? He was an old white bloke. The set looks like it was built for a school play!
Oh, I was in the audience... all those random delayed screams that happen once the dog is on stage are all about the dog! Haha! Basically as each section of the audience gradually noticed him, we just squealed instantaneously! That's why you hear a second wave of screams when the dog gets to the other side of the stage... 'cause that's when the right side of the audience actually saw he was there! Hahaha!! There was a lot of excitement in the room about them having a live Max! ❤️
I love trained Broadway actors! They understand the stage in a way that camera actors just don’t. Graham’s little stumble at 1:54 was just perfect. Absolutely perfect. It’s my favourite part from everything I’ve seen so far of this musical.
@@emilyhall8149 omg i love that! I have been obsessed with The little mermaid musical since it was on Broadway so 2007 (was very short lived, which I am still sad about)
Crimson Rose I didn’t expect them to use the songs written for the Broadway production because this performance goes along with the original animated movie which doesn’t include many songs performed in the theatrical version; like this one for example. 🙄
As a theater person who works with set pieces and more of the backstage aspects of theatrical productions while watching this I had a big dumb smile on my face not only because of the phenomenal acting from the entire cast but also the elaborate set.
I was afraid the casting for Eric would be terrible but thankfully that wasn’t the case. One could only hope Eric for the live-action movie will be just as good.🤞
Eric's actor is perfect and you can see they had a blast performing the song together. The energy's amazing and they killed it with the dance coreography. The crowd's having a good time too. The musical version looks ncredible❤️
My first guy dog is named Max. My family got him when I was ten. He passed away a long time ago but we all still cry when we think of him. He was the sweetest, most loyal dog anyone could ask for. Whenever I see Eric’s beloved Max, I’m reminded of my Max. 🥺
Megan Frigerio I knew Eric had a song in the Broadway version called her voice but I didn't know he sang in fathoms below until I saw this live. I instantly loved it.
When Eric came swinging in, my heart went 💓💓💓 uncontrollably and my stomach went 🦋🦋🦋. Wasn’t expecting much from Graham but he came out and proved me wrong. His singing while acting is amazing and not to mention, looking like a full three course meal while doing it. 🤩😍
@@natalialuna3976 they need to bring Graham Phillips to play the role of Prince Eric in the live action remake of Disney's the little mermaid. Who's with me please tell me.
I wish Eric hadn’t kept his mouth open while Ariel was singing because now it looks like he’s the one singing those ridiculously high notes and now I can’t unsee it
The opening transition is amazing as is the whole performance, but the end transition!? I’m floored! Maybe it’s an easy effect to do. But the blending of the prop fish to the animated one is breath-taking! How amazing!!!
Can we talk about the energy thou??? It was such a fun opening number & the dancers were amazing! They're energy was awesome! Plus I love the audience having props, made it interactive & fun
Graham Phillips did such a wonderful job as prince Eric. I’m like why does he look familiar!? And then I realized he was on Riverdale lol. The added songs from the musical gave depth to the characters. Queen latifah is amazing! That dress!
i've watched this sooo many times already. this is probably my favorite part among all the performances. eric here is just as charismatic as he is in the original movie ❤️
Such a refreshing interpretation! Prince Eric was so bland in the movie, but this one? Young, adventurous, passionate, a pure free spirit like Ariel. I can see why someone might fall for him! (Also, damn, they gave this song so much energy it became my favourite in the show!)
Lol I started crying too, but I think it’s because I watched the animated version pretty much every single day from the age of like...2-5. It’s the sound of a much simpler, and nostalgic time in our lives!
Out of all the performances I've seen from this, this is the only one that is even worth watching. Most of the people they cast for this show are really not selling me the fantasy.
This has been my favourite disney movie since I was a little girl, and it was a dream come true to act in a local production of the little mermaid. I love watching live productions like this, even though I can't do musical theatre anymore it's still so uplifting to watch these clips and songs
