Just did blood tests two weeks after starting carnivore, it just happened like that. I get bloodwork done every few months for over a year now because of very high inflammation, which my doctor couldn't explain. I also had a huge rash on my hands for over a year as well, which had started spreading on my arms and legs the last couple of months. We tried steroid cream, didn't work. We tried antibiotics, it made it worse! Two weeks on carnivore and it's GONE. It was so painful too. Not only that, but my bloodwork came back normal with no inflammation for the first time!! I was so scared to have a heart attack or something, especially that I had been having chest pain often the last two months. There is no going back now!!

People who have chronic inflammation and mysterious rashes and other conditions that clear up with the keto and especially carnivorous diet… that tells me that something is in the food supply now that is causing those problems depending on what they’re eating specifically and their specific bodies. The fact that the problems clear up with a very restrictive array of foods tells me that most processed foods and also produce contains something that is causing inflammation and illnesses.

I am not in the medical profession...but the BIT of research I've done in my ketovore journey, heightened my aggravation and anger in dealing with doctor's minimal nutritional training regarding my mom's sudden, random, unanswered decline and death late last year. This video was complexly crystal clear. A profession trained to experiment with drugs instead of getting to the root of the problem has inadvertently killed many. This was a goldmine of information to consider, especially as an average, former pre-diabetic, non-athletic ketovore. Thank you both! 💔💔

🤘Tim Noakes 💕 A true Hero and Scientist. I celebrate him for remaining curious and open to new ideas and concepts. If the research gives him new data, he doesn’t try to force it into an existing paradigm but questions what ramifications does this information hold. With so many academics unwilling to let go of their pet theories so that science has to wait until they die to advance, it is so inspiring to have some one who is willing to admit he was wrong and when he knew better, he not only did better, but announced it to the world. Even at potentially great personal cost. With respect and admiration I thank you💕🤩

I’ve been low carb for 4 years now. There has been a couple times when I read something or watched a video that convinced me I should add some carbs back in. So I would go buy potatoes or bread and add it to my meals. Right after I eat though I feel like my energy has been sucked out of me and I want to take a nap. I just can’t handle carbs at all I guess.

Extraordinarily interesting!!!!! I can clearly recognize what you discussed regarding "athlete performance". I have been a keen runner since 1972. I am now 68. Since 2012 I have done 8 marathon. 7 of them "on carbs". The last one on "KETO". I was nervous....will this work??? I decided to eat very minor the evening before the race. In the morning, 4 hours before start, I consumed a cup of hot water with 2 oz of coconut cream. So, I was basically fasting at start of the race. My prepration before the race was below avarage so I expected my finish time to be that as well. Rather than 4 hours I expected up to 4.30, still OK. I consumed only water. No energy drinks. During the race I never ran out of energy. I kept a steady pace, listening to my body. Sometimes I took a short walk in between. Quite laid-back...... Yes, of course, the last hour was tough, I had to struggle. But, here is one of my points that I recognize from this video. I never hit the wall. A short walk and energy was back - Keep on running!!! My muscles never cramped. I recovered clearly quicker after the race. My stomach never said one word, no heavy or empty feeling, like it was not there at all. (Heavy feeling in the stomach is limiting performance heavily). Clearly, my doubts were gone, I was even more convinced that low carb is the way to go. There is a lot more to say. However, after two years on Low carb, I have never felt better!!!!!

Here is my suggested name for this. Cerebral Ketone Deficiency. The brains needs govern glucose level. If you are insulin resistant and have no ketones, glucose will be high. If you are insulin sensitive and producing ketones glucose will be low. And anywhere in between. Elegant!

I think that part of the problem with autism is that we typically have larger than normal brains that give us less margin for error on blood sugar than neurotypicals. Modern diets really mess us up. I'm much more stable on low carb. I can still tank my brain if I exercise long enough though.

I'm really struggling with fully transitioning to carnivore because of this fatigue you mentioned. Now granted, I've been chronically ill for a good chunk of my adult life so fatigue was an issue before, but it just seems like my muscles lack oxygen or sugar or some combination of both. I'm hoping that with enough time my body will get used to the whole thing. Right now i'm up to about 3 weeks with less than 40-50 grams of carbs a day (some days i've had none). And plenty of fats/electrolytes too. The whole conversation on blood sugar fluctuations really resonated with me, just not sure what I should be doing with it.

Tired, hungy, fat, brain dead? From trying to burn only glucose with a prematurely decrepit insulin resistant body. Now we realize the brain is an energy hog and its energy needs drive the whole thing. Ketone deficiency is real! I am an insulin sensitive, fat adapted fat burner producing ketones with tons of energy and 100% brain function. Not fat, not hungry. 65 yo with a 24 year history of controlling my T2D with very low carb/ keto. I have thought for a while now that the main reason humans produce ketones is to help fuel our large brains.

@Dr Cywes, this is an excellent discussion I love it. I want to know though, can you explain how is it that I, with a very stable blood sugar around 80 to 90 on a daily basis (although by seeing my body’s inability to use all of the fat on my body and my fasting insulin level of 10, still insulin resistant), do not become mentally fatigued almost ever, but easily physically fatigued. Yet, my husband with a very probable LADA who is very thin and runs sugars (somewhat stable) in the 130 - 160 range after 4 years of strict ketovore, becomes very mentally fatigued and foggy brained, yet almost never physically fatigued?? It just doesn’t make sense to me if we’re saying that the brain shuts down with low blood sugars?? My sugars get into the 60s sometimes and I’m still mentally just fine, while hubby has never seen a score under 100 in a more than a decade, and becomes confused at times, specially as it pertains to short term memory and mental sharpness. It’s better now of course, than 4 years ago before keto, but it’s not resolved. Any thoughts? I’m trying to wrap my head around the theory. Since he has low insulin and high sugars, why does he become mentally fatigued? Physically he can go for hours and hours.

It's very likely that we can be deficient in either fat or protein. Our body definitely needs muscle but we also need fat stores. Our bodies needs are almost certainly dynamic. Changing with any number of situations. Is it possible that certain carbs could be the best way to gain weight for a lean Winter. There are many people who can be very fat and still just as healthy as anyone else.
@davidgmillsatty1900
@davidgmillsatty1900 2 года назад
If we are truly the hyper - carnivores that anthropologists are telling us we were until the dawn of agriculture, then we did not need to fatten up for the winter. In fact, to a carnivore, killing prey is likely easier in the winter because of the nutritional weakness of the prey in the winter and the greater density of prey due to shrinking plant habitat.
@rawmilkmike
@rawmilkmike 2 года назад
@@davidgmillsatty1900 That may be true for some animals I don't know. For humans there may have been a time when hunting and fattening up in the snow and ice could have sometimes be problematic. But that fattening up for Winter comment was just speculation anyway. Today we certainly don't need to fatten up for the Winter. Maybe we're fattening up for that big asteroid.

@judymiller5154 2 года назад
yes, somewhat - many people switch to ketones after the overnight fast. I think I remember Dr C saying about 12 hrs. If you ingest carbs, they will be burned first and then you will feel hungry again in a few hours and want more carbs. If you skip breakfast and/or lunch, or eat zero carb foods, you will continue to burn fats.

I'm on day 4 of keto (again) and my brain feels tired. I just want to crawl in bed. I'm not getting much accomplished. I have experienced great energy eating keto in the past. Not so much with carnivore, but I assume I was eating too much meat. I'm trying not to cave.

Soon as I increased my salt intake my muscle cramps stopped. Haven't had any for quite awhile now. I keep a salt shaker by the bed just in case. Can also drink salt water.

How do you two Drs get 2yr and 6 yrs old kids to eat Keto and not carbs?
@judymiller5154
@judymiller5154 2 года назад
hunger is the best sauce. offer healthy food choices, ignore their tantrums if you have already got them addicted to junk. PS I don't recommend using carby dessert as the reward for a clean plate as that keeps the high value on the sugar.

i think i get sicker just thinking about health stuff but i guess i need more broccoli and less canned food..when youre 60 or 70 i think doctors care less or most dont care and if youre older you get tired of cooking so whats some ready to eat food? nothing i guess..i think doctors want us sicker to make more money..i stopped going to them

Ready to eat are raw vegs and cheeses. Nothing wrong with cream cheese and celery, (or sugar free peanutbutter with celery or cheddar and apple). Cottage cheese is versatile - a dab of sf jam and sunflower seeds, or ranch dressing withchopped tomato. Nuts are nice for snacks, but stay moderate in portions or use as "dessert". Scrambled or hard boiled eggs are easy and nutritious. Canned tuna mixed with SF relish and non-soy/GMO mayo - or egg salad - or get a rotisserie chicken and make chicken salad with the leftovers. I think wr may often be looking for something "easy" because we are tired, bored, lonely rather than hungry... so go watch more of Dr C's teaching about catb addiction. God bless ❤️🙏❤️

A very healthy and nutritionally dense canned food is sardines. With bones and skin if you can find. If packed in water, add healthy animal fat such as bacon grease or butter or mayo made out of avocado oil.
