Could you do a similar video for a 2 wire sensor please? This is a great video but all of the vehicles I've worked on are 2 wire. I'm having issues currently with a 2008 5.4 3v F150. I love how you get right to the point and make things easy to understand. Thank you.

here's one for you, using a three wire on the crank. I'm getting a crank but no start with intermittent spark - side note while testing for spark I don't receive any cylinder misfires. but I'm also not getting any codes related to crank or cam. but I do get the barometric pressure one for having it disconnected while trying to start to make it easier.

Moreover, I am working on a 2009 toyota corolla, I have 12volts on the ground wire of the crankshaft sensor, but am not getting any volts on the hot wire,I checked the continuity of the hot wire from the pcm to the terminal and resistance is ok but still won't get any voltage on the hot wire,I am confused now , any advice to what to do next?? Thanks

one suggestion. for wire faults use a 250mA or 500 mA test light at least. A wire with one strand will still show continuity, but won't allow current to pass through it. A dim glow will expose this.

@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 10 месяцев назад
Hi. Although this video is for a 3 wire sensor, you can follow a similar method of testing to diagnose the fault. Were the 2.34v readings taken from the sensor connector (with the sensor unplugged) with the ignition on? Start here and then follow the video to conduct the same tests at the ECU connector and so on.

What about P0339 ??
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 7 месяцев назад
Hi. The P0339 fault code indicates the ECU is detecting an intermittent or erratic signal from the crankshaft sensor. This can be due to a faulty sensor, ECU or wiring from the sensor to the ECU. We would recommend completing all the checks outlined in this video to determine where the fault lies. As the P0339 code is intermittent, we would recommend completing all these checks whilst wiggling the wiring loom and connectors from the ECU to the sensor to see if the voltage readings change at all. Hope this helps!

Can a P0016 be caused by a bad crankshaft position sensor?
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 11 месяцев назад
Hi. A P0016 can be caused by either a faulty cam or crank sensor, or a mechanical fault on the vehicle. We would recommend completing all the wiring checks in this video as well as our video on the cam sensor: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FTY11IeWBsk.html in order to determine if the fault could lie in the circuit.

Can the ecu cause no signal from crank sensor? Ive replaced 3 times. I also have no can signal at ecu
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 8 месяцев назад
Hi. Yes a bad ECU can result in no signal from the crank sensor. If you have completed all the checks in this video to rule out the wiring loom and sensor, then it is worth testing the ECU to make sure it has a good power and grounds, which you can do by following the steps in our video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y3aoD5BMxQw.htmlsi=veJToJJYZVkvXI2I If you aren't getting any CAN communication it could also be worth testing the CAN Bus circuit. If you rule these out then you can determine your ECU is causing the issue. If this is the case then please contact our technical support team via email on info@ecutesting.com with the part number of your unit and any relevant diagnostic information, and they will advise you of any testing and re-build service we can provide. Thanks.

Is it normal for the signal wire to be 12v? I am reading some cars are 5v and some are 12v depending on the car etc?
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 6 месяцев назад
Hi. While it's more common for crankshaft position sensors to use a 5V signal, some can be 12V. Inductive type sensors are more likely to have a 12V signal, especially in older vehicles or if the sensor is a 2-wire design (compared to the 3-wire design more typical for 5V sensors). We would always recommend consulting your specific vehicle's technical documentation to confirm.

Is testing at the CMP sensor the same as the ckp? If so I'm getting no voltage at the sensor wire with the it disconnected.
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 4 месяца назад
Hi. Yes, testing at the camshaft position sensor is largely the same as the crankshaft. We have done a video specifically on the cam sensor here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FTY11IeWBsk.html But if you aren't getting any voltage at the sensor connector with the ignition on and sensor unplugged, it is likely the wiring or ECU is faulty. You will need to back probe the wires at the ECU connector as we show in this video at 4:47. Hope this helps

@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 6 месяцев назад
Hi. A P1335 on an Astra indicates a problem with the crankshaft position sensor, its wiring, or the ECU, so we would recommend completing the checks we have outlined in this video in order to identify and rectify the problem.

i Have a Honda accord 2005 Hybrid with code P0335 i change the crankshaft sensor but still have the code , check Volt on the blue cable and is 3.7V intead of 5V , what should a check next?
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 7 месяцев назад
Hi. Do you know if your blue cable is the power supply to the sensor or the signal wire? And did you conduct this test with the ignition on or with the engine running?
@user-ti1xh5vs6s
@user-ti1xh5vs6s 7 месяцев назад
Signal with the ignition on . The sensor is 5 pint or wire. Thanks for the reply. 😄
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 7 месяцев назад
If you have 3.7v on the signal terminal with the sensor disconnect and ignition on, then we would recommend completing the same test at the ECU connector by back probing the signal wire that goes to the crank sensor. If the voltage is 3.7v here, then the fault likely lies with your ECU, or both the wiring and ECU. Inspect the ECU connector for any damage, corrosion or poor terminal tension to see if the fault is being caused by a bad connection. If that checks out ok, then follow the steps in the video from 5:27 onwards (but on the signal wire instead of the 5v wire as shown in the video) to determine if the fault lies in both the wiring and ECU or just ECU. Hope this helps!

@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 7 месяцев назад
Hi. The P0322 code could also be caused by a fault with the Camshaft position sensor, have you completed the same tests at both the crank and cam sensor connectors? Also, have you tested the ground connection to the sensors as well? If you have done these, then also inspect the sensor connectors for corrosion or poor terminal tension. Hope this helps!

On camshft connector one is showing 5v and one is showing 4.9 .is that ok or something wrong?
@Ecutestinglimited
@Ecutestinglimited 7 месяцев назад
@@muhammadrashidjaved301 No, 4.9v is a good reading. If you have changed both sensors and the fault still remains then it could be the incorrect sensor for the vehicle, make sure you are buying OEM replacements specific for your vehicle. Again, it could be the ground wire is shorted to voltage, or a poor connection between the sensor connector and the sensor itself, so we would recommend completing these checks.
