Absolutely wonderful! Faust-symphonie is my favourite symphonic piece of all time and I think it is criminally underrated. Can wait too see the transcribtion of the Chorus Mysticus!
This is such an incredible piece. I love how Faust’s themes are transformed into a romantic duet with Gretchen’s in Mvt. II, and a mocking parody in Mvt. III. Also, Gretchen’s themes are untouched by Mephistopheles’ influence in Mvt. III
This is perhaps the first video to show the Faust Symphony for solo piano (arranged by Stradal). I know of a video (which I don't like very much) that also plays Faust for piano, but I don't think it's Stradal's version, and there are bits of the piece that have been cut out. And then there's the audio quality, which is... 💀 The performer's name is Nyiregyhazi. Anyway, thank you very much for this certainly tiring job. Well, I don't know what program you use, but I believe it wasn't easy by any means, hehe. I'm pretty sick today, but when I saw this video being recommended to me... it really gave me a thrill. 🥹 Thx bro
Why do you think the middle movement has anything to do with Tausig? This just seems to be Liszt's arrangement. I've never heard anyone make any link with it to Tausig.
