FDA Testimony by Dr. H Jae Chun for the Breast Implant Advisory Team 

For 16 years I had symptoms that I associated with genetics, but upon explantation for capsular contracture, my IBS disappeared (indigestion, food intolerance, loose stools), my fatigue was gone, exercise intolerance gone, my face was no longer swollen (I didn't think it was swollen until the explant, I was just accustomed to it I'm guessing), no more UTIs (I had 3-5 UTIs a year), my hair stopped falling out, chronic cramps and muscle spasms in my feet disappeared, joint inflammation disappeared. I am mostly surprised at my digestive improvement. I have not had a solid bowel movement in 16 years and for the first time, I have produced an actual TURD! This sounds like minutea, but my poop was always sticky, messy, explosive and pus-filled that contained whole peices of undigested food that was leaving me malnourished. Never, ever has it ever been solid....in 16 YEARS. Now all of a sudden I'm back to normal? This cannot be a coincidence.

Thank you so much for your expertise . I explanted in may 2018 and the day of surgery my blood pressure returned to my normal range , my grapefruit size swollen knees went back to normal . My vision improved . Today the painful swollen lymph node in the outer aspect of my breast is not painful . Healing is happening and all only after breast implant removal . You have my permission to use my hospital reports from when I was hospitalized with numerous unexplained illnesses. The FDA needs to see these hard facts to make changes towards helping .

I've just started putting the pieces together on these chronic illnesses I have - mostly fatigue, muscle soreness, memory loss, fibromyalgia, etc., Looking back, they all started after I had implants. I'm having them removed this month!

This makes me cry. I am suffering from BII and can not find a Dr in New Mexico that believes in it. The Drs keep telling me I can just take out the implant and leave the capsules but then I read that there can be complications if left behind. It's so scary because we as women don't know who to trust.! A lot of us being told there's nothing wrong, were depressed or it's in our head when it's clearly not. I need my Implants out asap but unfortunately I can not afford the cost to fly out to Dr Chun or to finance the surgery. if I had known about this year's ago when I implanted I would have never done it! This is completely ruining my life!! I pray to God that I will get these toxic things out and begin to live my life again. Thanks Dr chun. Since having my sailing implants put in 20 years ago at age 40 in the first 10 years I started experiencing developing food sensitivities and allergies the second 10 years has been recurring depression physical fatigue with no explanation was not going through any emotional stress. I did wait too long to get them out however I’m glad that I’m getting an explant on December 19. I’m hoping that my symptoms will all go away prior to my implants being put in I had absolutely no depression fatigue or food sensitivities ever. I had situational anxiety from time to time but no food sensitivities no fatigue and no unexplained depression. Also my thyroid has acted up in the last 10 years. I’ve had a hard time regulating it and now I believe it’s due to the implants. I will be monitoring myself after the explant to see what happens. My symptoms are some of the ones that women have. Maybe these "experts" need to be implanted so they know how it feels!!! Or would that be not enough proof? I hope lawsuits happen and they be demanded to pay out to us women that have invested thousands of dollars to implant and explant and all of the pain and suffering. If Dr. Chun ends up having a "heart attack" from this interview we will know what really happened to him! Stay safe Dr. Chun!!!!!

I have breast implants and have been very sick for 15 months now and no doctor seems to be able to help. It’s been 2 years exactly today since I had breast augmentation done and I started getting ill 8 months after having the breast augmentation. I have had them taken out last April. I almost died. I had and still do horrible skin rash that hurts itches and is so sensitive. I'm still detoxing. I do feel a ton better after taking them out. But I see it'll be a while for my full recovery. The Dr.s in my state don't know what to do and very few care enough to help you. Holistic Dr.s work with you better and help a lot more than them. Also, check on FB for those who want help there are several groups there to help us. You aren't alone there is a lot of us. Way more than what we think.

I have Allergan and I have severe neurological problems along with many other Health issues to many to list in this post I actually have an amazing neurologist that recognizes this to be a problem I didn’t even have to convince him of it which I’m sure you know many of your patients probably have to try to convince their other doctors to even listen to them about it being a problem. I adore Dr Chun, I’m 5 years post implant removal and I have never looked back. Before I had them removed I was debilitated, I could barely make it through my day, now 5 years later I am totally back to myself with all the energy necessary to lead a full and rewarding life. I had my implants removed six weeks ago - and there is a huge difference!! I don’t have that deep feeling of exhaustion anymore - yes I’m tired from the surgery and going back to work but it is very different from that deep exhaustion that felt like I was about to get the flu - from 2014 to now 2023 - that is gone. Everything he says is absolutely true; however, saline implants are just as bad! I had mine removed 2 years ago after 12 years of living hell, and I’m just about back to normal!!!

Told my family about waiting for a referral to get them removed just spoke to my MD today.

OMG This describes exactly how I presented after living with silicone breast implants. I had a explant and capsulectomy. I have continued with symptoms despite the removal. Over the last 3-4 years, I have seen such an increase in reporting of this immune problem.

Dc. Please tell us how much is the cost of the explantation in block. Most of the story telling victims of this illness do not informe about the costs and many women suffering dont have money to paid for the explantation. I ones save 10 tousands 2 years ago and visit 3 doctors in California but the cost was over my limits 15 to 20 thousands one in Nevada was 14 and she was so rude to me she was mad at me because the implants are cupsutated and really hard. She also got mad beacuse i have no tissue she was the worst of any doctor i ask for help. But raned out of heroffice. Women with this symptom become cerry sensitive and no lift no replacement i dont want anything more them to be healthy i have been suffering the symptom and have reported to doctor. But they said is in my head. Now i have no money no saving and no job. Totally supporter by my husband that thanks God has a job. But not enough to save or paid for explant at frist i didn't know it was this toxix bags but little by little it was revealed by God i don't know God's PLANS for my healing but I'm praying and know that He will provied the money and the right doctor for me for the moment if i died. I love God so i will go home to my creator and now for those that are suffering the implant illnesses. They are many different symtoms because if affect the whole body organs and brains it unpredictable how you are going to feel from no energy to painful joints and lot of imflamation all over feet and uncles hands weakness and tenderness or not be able to hold your cup of coffee for those going through this. Thanks, I have swollen joints, mostly problems with fluids in knees and bakercysts in both kneefolds, had en En Bloc surgery 9th of february, hoping to gett better with time. Already noticed, a brighter mindset, feeling more energy.

I’ve been thinking that other foreign object insertion type surgeries (hip replacement, etc.) lead to the same symptoms. Perhaps it’s disregarded as the patient getting older.

Dr. CHUN I WOULD VOLUNTEER TO BE A INDIVIDUAL RECORDED, VIDEOTAPED DURING A EXPLANT SURGERY FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES. HALF OF MY LIFE HAS BEEN WASTED DUE TO CHRONIC PAIN, ILLNESS, DR. APPOINTMENTS, PHYSICAL THERAPY ETC.

I'm scheduled to have my implants removed, I've had them in for 15 years. The fatigue and memory problems I've experienced during this time are so severe and debilitating that I honestly don't think I will ever fully recover or heal. My twenties and early thirties were basically stolen from me because I was so sick. My implants nearly ruined my life completely and I don't know if it's even possible for me to ever be healthy again.

I have BII. Explanted 2015. Saw improvement right after explant, but still very unwell. We need justice!!! How to improve my health now? Did chelation therapy for years, still not there. Feel like I've hit a wall.
