When I was in the New Zealand Fire Service at the time, our brigade had to respond to callouts in the Hamilton City for fire calls. People are arrogant when your responding under lights and sirens
I work in midtown. This is typical. Drivers can hear and see the emergency vehicle and have room to move over, but don’t until the fire truck / ambulance / police car are right on their bumper.
Somehow I think they could try going down the Bike Lane on the left. Cars could squeeze a bit to the right like they are supposed to do. Probably the Bike Lane is off limits, though. Don't mess with the precious bikes (sarcasm!)
