I work in midtown. This is typical. Drivers can hear and see the emergency vehicle and have room to move over, but don’t until the fire truck / ambulance / police car are right on their bumper.
Somehow I think they could try going down the Bike Lane on the left. Cars could squeeze a bit to the right like they are supposed to do. Probably the Bike Lane is off limits, though. Don't mess with the precious bikes (sarcasm!)
