Way better than the last episode. I'm a bit more forgiving of Dwight and Sherry since they weren't really exposed to the horrible stuff being in the nursery and training the kids, and considering they went through negan to survive beforehand, and since they would still be around Finch and physically see that he's safe, they probably thought it worth the sacrifice And the second they saw the red flag they were ready to bail, unlike another couple 👀

That scene where June discuss about a person surviving long with a bite and with radiation. She was talking about Alicia. From that time when she killed that Walker in S5. So as far I can make it. The radiation can help stop the infection, but it cannot stop the person from turning.

June was talking about Alicia when she mentioned knowing someone who survived being bitten and irradiated at the same time.

I thought this episode was a huge step up from 8x01 and anything in season 7

I do agree that not one of our group would EVER go along with Padre (ok, maybe Strand). It feels like we're missing a part of the story, something major would have to happen for any of them to agree with what Padre's doing. Can't wait to see Daniel next week. This whole episode was so much darker than usual for Fear the Walking Dead and that ending was so sadistic. I don’t think any of the TWD villains would’ve done that with exception of CRM.

Shrike, the bird, is called a butcher bird. They are ferocious and impale their prey on a thorn or crevice of a tree. Seems to me that Shrike is living up to her name!

So dumb they would bite the kid and expect that to motivate June…the kid could turn in minutes, how could she realistically come up with the cure in time. Assuming a cure is even attainable.

This is probably one of the best TWD genre episodes in a long time. Well executed in the way they showed June had gone to this dark side, was retaliating against PADRE for some reason, and we finally get to learn why...while also learning about Dwight, Sherry, and some more PADRE darkness and insanity! FEAR has been so bad for so long, this one actually had me excited...minus some of the corny stuff. Lol Like why wouldn't June just poke each walker on a chain as she walked by...umm duh SPOILERS... I had a feeling Adrian was going to learn some bad news. I also wondered if she was Dove at first

This episode was a good one. Dwight’s kid getting bit was a real brutal scene. I keep hearing that padre is working with CRM. I doubt that’s true.

Padre is either strand or Troy. I know I’ve said it was Troy in the past but strand makes sense too. I personally think Troy is dead but there are some fans who think he’s still alive and if he was this would be the way to bring him back. It’s very Troy to have child soldiers and be experimenting like that. It could be strand, the reasoning for this is last season padre wasn’t referred to as him it was just an organisation. Strand is a leader, he’s also only worried about himself. If he could find a way to save himself from the walkers he would! We don’t know how long padre had been testing on bitten people like that but we know that June was doing it after she got captured the same time as strand. He’d seen Alecia survive that long with a bite so might have gotten the idea from that.

If June is using radiation is it possible for padre to get tools from a hospital that uses radiation therapy for cancer patients and try it like that to cure the virus

I loved this episode.

PADRE wanted Madison dead. He told Morgan that. But Shrike is doing these experiments behind his back and needs Madison’s blood and needs her alive to succeed because she’s Alicia mom. Alicia survived her bite with radiation exposure.

This episode is a great example for why June should’ve been at the forefront more in prior seasons

The fact the the group decided to leave their kids at padre is so dumb lol you’d think they would know by now not to trust new groups 🤣

I think when June mentioned someone who got bit and exposed to radiation and lived the longest was Alicia. Alicia was exposed in season 5 and bit in season 7.

Holy sh...this was so good!! Cruel, brutal, breathtakingly sardistic. Damn! The season opener was OK, but 8x02 set a new benchmark! This is the Fear I love: Going new ways, telling new stories, trying out stuff the main show wouldn't have! Give us more June! Christine's performance when Finch got bit😰😰

I think Dove (Mo's friend) is actually Odessa. Odessa was the daughter of a the woman that was in the season 7 finale with Morgan and Madison. And the next episode is titled Odessa I believe so I think it will come out

Very good 2nd episode. I personally can't wait for a reunion scene between Madison and Victor Strand, Daniel Salazer, would also love Alicia, but heard the actress left the show unless she makes a surprise appearance.

I believe June was talking about Alecia with the bite and radiation but because June does not know how many rads to use to copy the exposure Alecia suffered, she was ordered to continue experimenting. Also on another point the future episode and piece in the trailer, what if the scene with Finch with Dwight and Sherry is a dream sequence or flashback before he was bit. Fear is always writing those hallucinations and dream sequences, ie Grace, Morgan, Alecia St all, into their episodes.

Hey guys have yall heard the new season of Black Summer is premiering June 5th!!! Just thought I would let you know! This episode was good to me until they had the walker head bite Sherry and Dwights son. After everything they've been through that sucked! Ugh. I felt like i was going through Glens drath again. It was the same emotions. That made me teally mad!!!

I loved it, it was definitely better than the first episode. While not perfect I felt myself nitpicking because of all the negativity so I pushed it aside and started over with a fresh attitude and mindset and found myself enjoying this episode. I love the walking dead and want to savor everything that pertains to it. Hopefully next episode will be even better, by the looks of the trailer it will be. (Positive affirmations). Thanks for the breakdown

I'm with you guys with regards to Dwight and Sherry. The first time we ever met them they were on the run, having escaped the Sanctuary because they couldn't stand living under the oppressive rule of an authoritarian dictator. Their whole story has been about them getting out from under Negan and fighting to be together, but now they've decided to accept a new dictator? One that has forced them apart as Negan did? One that has separated them from their child to the point that they have very limited, if any, interaction with him and the kid doesn't even know that they're his parents?.... It makes no sense that they would willingly accept that and see it as being the best thing for their child/family. Also, the 7yr time jump doesn't play into their decision because they've quite clearly stated that this was a decision they made 7yrs ago, when PADRE first captured/took them in, so you can't argue that something must have happened during the time jump that made them think this way. With regards to Daniel, am I right in remembering that June hypothesised that his dementia and cognitive deterioration might have been related to trauma?..... So, if he's dealt with that trauma during the time jump we could see the old Daniel. I for one have my fingers crossed that this is the case, old Daniel was awesome!

We never saw Troy actually die from the hammer to the head, so I guess he could return... And I suppose it's workable for him to have been carried out to sea to an island where PADRE was, and to rise up the ranks for as long as that took. And that yes, his PADRE involvement (and resentment for what Madison had done to him) is a reason why they were watching her in S4 and found her at the stadium in time. If that's all true, her using the giant 🔨 would also be a nice touch, given what she did to Troy. But my worry is this: the writers will put too much stock in that storyline, seemingly forgetting or glossing over how PADRE supposedly existed from Day 1 of apocalypse, created as a govt plan and that the TX senator knew about and tried to get to. With that, how you'd really have to think that others in TWDU would certainly have to know about it, including Pamela Milton who was in a White House level circle at that time. As well as the helicopter-using CRM, given their positions of high rank from the start. So I'd think that PADRE -- particularly given its radiation-using research that seems similar to the World Beyond chlorine gas research -- would have some working relationship or alliance with CRM, etc. I really do hope TWDU connects some dots, if even just some dialogue addressing these issues somewhere.

But it’s like you said guys: Padre has pulled a shroud over their eyes. In a way they are kind of a cross between the taliban and those dictators in Africa that create child soldiers. If you can screw with someone’s mind like that, that’s a powerful weapon. And don’t forget: with that kind of mind games everybody can be tricked.

They went there, unbelievable!! To be fair Finch is a heatly breathing living 7 year old so Padre has in some way keep him safe and so are his parents so far so good unitl they know the truth of course. I think June was referencing Alicia with the person who was bit and still survived.

Charlie was the only one I remember being exposed to radiation. So did they make her get bit and experiment on her 🤔

June is a BADASS! Thank god this episode was much better. Dwight and Sherrys son getting bit was heartbreaking to watch.

This episode was amazing and watch people that have hated this show from day 1 find something to nitpick lol...As a true Fear fan I'm glad some people are enjoying the final Season yeah I didn't like the Season premiere either but I'm not gonna say the whole Season gonna suck like some of these idiots are saying.. You do know that in the real world, plenty of kids get taken as well from parents and families that are deemed unsafe for the kid? That often those kids also aren't allowed to know who their parents are? And that not always, but quite often, it is for the better of said kid as well? THAT is the thinking here by Dwight and Sherry. Yet you're not even contemplating that part of it. You don't like it, so you just don't agree with it. But it makes sense, especially after what they've been through and how PADRE manages to sell it pretty well I'm sure to those that know nothing about them. They weren't set up as collectors either. They just figured that it was a stable, safe place for their kid. Clearly knowing NOTHING about the shady shit and jsut thinking, just like Morgan, that the safety and security is more than they can give their kid out there where they've been on the run for so fucking long. And might I remind you that Dwight knew Carl and about Carl? He knew that a badass kid that even Negan of all people respected the hell out of, died with Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne and everyone around him as well. Yes, it makes sense. It made sense for Morgan. It made sense for Sherry and Dwight. The one this season that has not made any sense yet, is Madison. Yet, you're so blinded by having her back that you have barely brought that up. Everyone is weird and you don't agree with, but Madison? 'Ooh, piece 'o candy!" distracted from that same level of criticism as other character that have legit character reasons from way back when. Or do you truly and seriously not remember the uncertainty of managing to keep their kid safe they barely dealt with last season?

Also that dad's death was honestly sooo stupid, like imagine surviving 12 years in a zombie apocalypse, going through all the shit you had to go through just to kill yourself like that. What I waste of s character.

to me Dwight and Sherry's reason for staying is the one that makes the most sense. Think about it at the end of season 7 she was pregnant leaving radiated lands in rafts. They were not in the best of positions. so in exchange I would probably do that too and support PADRE. now Morgan his decision to support PADRE is just plain stupid and I don't like it. I hope that he gets his mojo back soon.

I think June was reffering to Alicia when she said she saw someone surviving walker bite for long time because of radiation. Also i think that Padre guy can easilly be Troy. Like u said all these experiments are reminding me of what Troy used to do back in season 3 days so i wouldnt be completely stunned if he is The Padre. Also they are hyping this Padre character so much so i am going to give this theory pretty big chance and also many people/leakers are saying he will be back this season but dont quotte me on that because i am not searching for leaks it is just what i saw on internet

The situations are just too contrived, the walker abilities, too. Despite that this was an amazing episode even though it was the darkest in the entire franchise!

I think this Is very hard seeing our characters bend like this but I think we need to hold on for a while and see where it goes because PADRE must have done something or brain washed them or something…maybe all padre had to do was scare them and threaten their kids and maybe that’s why? It sucks seeing them without their fight though. But you guys knit pick a lot of stuff lol…like the zombies in the swamp weren’t loud enough or moving enough to be realistic? Lol, I think the story Itself is more important
