"Everything we see Jesus have is all borrowed. He borrows everything, this is how poor he is. He borrows a cave to be born in, he borrows a feeding trough for a crib, he borrows a boat to preach from, Jesus borrows a coin to pay the temple tax, Jesus borrows a room for the last supper, Jesus borrows someone else's cross, even when Jesus dies and he's buried ... it's in a borrowed tomb. Jesus had nothing. He even borrowed a dad" This has to be one of the most powerful and thought-provoking homilies I've ever heard. In a world that can seem so shallow and materialistic we should all do well to remember how Jesus lived. Thank you Fr. Mike. God Bless you🕊🙏✝❤

Heavenly Father, only you know the burdens I face please bless my children. As a single mom I’m struggling to make ends meet. Lord give me strength to get through each day. Both of my sons are autistic and require much from me. It’s difficult to raise children alone. BUT I keep faith Lord Jesus. Even as I struggle to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. I’m so ashamed. Jesus deliver me from my anxieties, and my troubles. Heal me from my lupus and heart disease. Help me to find strength when I am weak, And hope when I am afraid. Amen. ❤

Thank you for this. I have to work Fri Sat Sun every weekend. So this is necessary for my soul. God bless Fr. Mike I am almost 60 I grew up listening to Mass in Latin with the priest facing away and while I love changes I wish for old hymns and my Mass of old. Even the Our Father, Alleluia and prayers mean more to me the old way. Not a diss on what the younger generations seem to need. Just a comment. Music is my worship language. I listen to old hymns to help me fulfill that need. I am grateful to listen to Mass after work

I know I walk with our Lord just went to retrieve my vehicle didn’t happen so went on to DC made a rest stop fell & spent 4 hours in VA emergency got 12 stitches got home now I leave it in Gods hands & a lawyer I have no contact with family due to my hiring a helper I keep praying they come around thanks for the beautiful humbly. happy and blessed new year to all father Mike

Hello Fr. Mike and Newman Center Front Pew Crew. Prayers for me and my friends. And the community I live in! And our families. That we'll be good sons, daughters, Moms, Dads, spouses, girlfriends and boyfriends, (praying that marriage becomes more accepted and reverts back to a place of importance in American Society) that we'll be good Grandparents, and coworkers to each other at our jobs and school. For an increase in sanity and healthy boundaries in human relationships and for greater inner personal peace and better relationships with God who created us. This Mass: the homily and the readings for today: The Midwest, and all of America needs to hear more things about what's truly important. That humanity doesn't become extinct. For more adoption in childless couples. Amen.
