I remember watching this video before starting hair school almost 2 years ago, it was very motivational & inspiring lol. AND NOW I AM A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST!!!!!
Yeeessss congratulations I’m so pumped for you honey and I don’t even know you lol...I remember being so nervous taking state boards but I pushed through I’ve been licensed for eight years now and I give all praises to God..
This is some of the healthiest color treated hair I've ever seen. She has absolutely no heat damage to say she gets her hair straightened so often, fabulous work!
I want her to move to the UK so she can be my stylist lol! Mind, I'm white and I'm not sure if she works on boring straight hair like mine, as I've only seen her working on the beautiful curly black hair!
Girl...this is numero uno on my new cosmetology appointments. If she looks like 🤯 or 🤡 I am 🏃♀️ from that chair. I have even paid for wasting their booked space as my mother taught me to do....lol. But, in my mamas word, "You do not let just ANYONE put their hands in your hair!!"🤣🤣
Not going to lie, if I was a stylist I would fuck up my hair on the regular. Feeling platinum blonde today? Let’s see what I can do. I want to go purple? Aw yeah, let’s go. Shave one side? It’s done.
I’m halfway through cleaning my house and binging these videos. I don’t even have this kind of hair...what. It’s relaxing and informative though! You’re so talented!
Use bobby pins as you wrap your hair and remove them as you go. That is how my granny taught me and I have, I mean had before I cut it, long and thick hair. Wrapping your hair secures the style and protects your hair as well!!!
If my edges could just touch the hem of your stylist apron, lawd! 😩 That flat iron had Beyoncé' tears in it🙌🏾 I never hit subscribe so fast in my life!
You are amazing. I’d love to have you teach me how to flatiron my hair in one beautiful pass like you do. I’m addicted to watching your work. You are truly talented.
I normally don't leave comments after watching a video but with u it is a must. I have watched all your videos and I must say , you are the best natural hair stylist I have seen so far.. it's amazing how you transform nappy to silky and bouncy. U are amazing!!! I wish I knew where u are located so I can have the honor to have my hair done by you .
What gives people the reason to dislike your videos? First off what you do is amazing and you deserve a lot! Second off why are people here to dislike your video!!!! Third of I love watching your channel😂❤️💙💜
Exactly! I'll never understand that! I know some things aren't for everyone, butmy goodness, how can someone dislike something like this? I legit need answers!!!! Lol
😩🙌🏿 I need an appointment with you.. you and mo knows hair are the ONLY 2 I'll let mess in my hair besides my stylist.. You might be the best to ever do it, that I've seen..
I agree with you on that one. @MoKnowsHair is the only hairstylist on RU-vid that I trust. My hair has grown so much because of her videos. She is like the only hair stylist besides @DeeperThanHair that actually knows what they're talking about on here. I learned my lesson listening to these nobodies on RU-vid who arent even a professional, and be having these girls up here putting harmful things in their hair, wondering why its not growing. Smh
I’m white, and I can’t stop binge watching your videos, I wish my hair stylist cared this much about my hair 😫 I love your videos, You are truly talented!
"Make you feel real important." I'm dying laughing! These videos are so soothing to watch. And you can tell this woman knows her stuff! Edited to add at the end: wow, she looks gorgeous!
i just want you to know that because of this video I have been able to apply this technique to my blow outs! I also invested in the cool mist flat iron as well and the results are fantastic. I really admire your professionalism and over rall platform. thank you for being such an amazing presence on youtube. Keep doing your thing love.
You're the best stylist I've seen on youtube. You're the only one I could trust doing my hair because its so obvious you care about the client's hair amd you love what you do.
Why over 500 thumbs down. Jeez we need to support healthy haircare period regardless if you prefer curler, straight, perm, extensions, locs, braids, crochet, or weaves. It's all about versatility and maintaining healthy hair regardless of the style. This stylish seems to be doing this, why are people disliking these videos? Frustrating.
they work for relaxing chemical company..lol..we are now gonna va healthy looking hair.now what about weave and extentions market.there go another thought ..i love evolving world.😁😁😁😁😁
How long will her hair stay straight? how does she moisturize her hair without it reverting back to curly? ... I live in Florida and my hair will last all of a day
she says that she gets her hair straightened like that once a month and wraps every night with satin scarf to maintain. i'm sure she uses some type of light oil or serum if her hair/scalp is dry - she cannot use water or her hair will revert.
+Today's Special Minis why would anybody use water as moisture for hair? Water is a cleanser and it hydrates things that are meant to remain wet or slightly moist IE our bodies(internally) but if you're ashy you don't use water or even a water based lotion. Since they are both made of keratin you would use a similar base. Not exactly the same of course but yes a similar base. I don't know who decided water would be a good moisturizer for hair when it leaves it dryer that when you started. That's that new natural stuff these vlogging youtubers say but aren't professionals and don't know much about hair just their own and even then not necessarily. With a silk scarf and wrapping her natural oils will build up and distribute if u add to it, it takes away the swing and bounce of the hair. You can definitely faithfully brush wrap your hair every night put on a satin scarf and not need to add an oil. When hair is healthy and treated like this, as long that heat style lasts it will have all the oil it needs. If you just HAVE to break that rule whatever oil u use go straight to the scalp let none get on the hair.
Why NOT use water to moisturize the hair??.... water IS pure moisture....duh...I have no clue what lotion that you use or even have seen that doesn't have water as the first ingredient, because EVERY single lotion/moisturizer I've ever looked at the ingredients on, even the thickest of lotions, have that first and most abundant ingredient: WATER. The rest of the ingredients are usually there for one of the following reasons: helping the water penetrate the skin, sealing the moisture in, nourishment (via vitamins/minerals), fragrance, humectants (to help attract more...you guessed it, water ,from your surroundings), and/or adding additional protein to help with STRENGTH (not moisture). Why do you think they always say it works better when your skin is still slightly damp?.... because most of what lotion does is simply add moisture with the main ingredient, and/or seal the moisture in from when you shower. I don't know what you've been doing that makes your hair DRYER after adding water, (other than maybe using hard tap water or not sealing or something)....but both myself and several natural hair vloggers with beautiful healthy very long hair that I've seen successfully use water to moisturize, if not plain water, then a mixture composed of MOSTLY water with just a touch of aloe vera juice and/or oil added in a spray bottle for nourishing or fragrance. Oil is not moisture....oil is just that....oil.... it does not and cannot moisturize, and MOST oils cannot even penetrate the hair shaft anyways. You would not drink oil to quench your thirst so why would you add only oil to your hair when it's dry? That will only mask the dryness with perceived "softness" and/or manageability, while your inner strands stay dehydrated. Oil is for sealing and nourishing in my opinion. None of all of the natural hair bloggers that lightly spritz their hair with water daily or every other day ever claimed to be professionals or scientists, but they just want to share what works for them and to share their experiments and natural hair journey with us, and judging by what great success they've achieved with those methods, it obviously does work for them, (and me personally, since I am making headway in my hair goals by following their advice). You might want to try the LOC or LCO method. The L (liquid) being filtered water alone or mixed with a little aloe/oil, but the main moisturizer continues to be and will always be water.
The moment I saw vlogger I stopped reading. Yes we wet and wash our hair and it drinks that but water evaporates leaving the surface dry. That's why we open up with warm water and then add conditioners and such as moisture. You go ahead and lotion your dry skin with water, get out of the shower and rub down with a bottle of purified water. When we wash our hair of not only dirt but excess oil we use what WATER. Only things meant to stay in a liquid state are moisturized with water. Anything else (keratin) needs oil. Heat or warm water to open/wash it actual oils to protect it. Your body produces and secretes OIL allll day to protect it and only when you over heat does it produce and secrete water(sweat) to cool you off. Your body gives you what it needs externally and you give it what it needs internally(water). Water doesn't add moisture to your hair it adds water. Have women walking around with spray bottles spritzing their hair to keep it from drying out. That's why I listen to and go to licensed stylists. Never had a perm been natural ALL of my life and not once has Katie Kole(stylist of nothing but natural over 40 yrs) ever said to me,"when your hair gets dry, put water on it" vloggers SMH so done with u. Scroll up a few and see how MANY feel about u
I wish you were local!! I would be coming to you! You did an amazing job on her hair, and it is so healthy! I like how you take your time and minimized pulling her hair. Many beauticians don't care anymore.
Thanks so much for these videos! Question: My silk press frizzes up before I even leave the house. I trimmed my ends, did keratin treatments etc. What products do you recommend to help keep my silk press silky longer?
How gorgeous! I’m glad to see that “feathers” are coming back! I used to do this to my hair back in the 70’s! Now it is so much better with fabulous tools and a top notch stylist! I’m just a cosmetology student that learns more about natural hair from professionals like you than in my books! I’m not African-American, but am drawn to how amazing natural hair is and how it truly needs specific care. When we had two A/A salon owners visit our school to teach us weaving techniques, I asked one of them how she learned all she was demonstrating. “Our books don’t show us this.” She told me she learned by watching RU-vid. So here I am trying to absorb all I can. Thank you for sharing your talent and expertise! You rock! 💇🏻♀️🙌🏻👏🏻💕
You are very talented!!! You have hands of a magician; Great job. Please can u tell me where I can buy the products u used on her. Pleaseeeee Thank you Lily 💙😇
