These two are always an entertaining watch. Roger Federer takes on Nick Kyrgios at the Laver Cup 2019 in Geneva. ❤️ Enjoyed this video? Subscribe to the Laver Cup channel and hit the notification bell to never miss a new video!
We should give a round of applause to Kyrgios. I've never seen him playing so aggressive and earnest. It seems that he always pushes himself to the limit while facing Roger. What a great match for both players!
Roger and Nick nearly always give us great, gripping matches. Many people don't like the latter but you can't deny he's one of the most entertaining players in the world.
Nick is an amazing player and could be one of the greats.... but he is too much of a childish douche bag for me to cheer for. Maybe when he matures a bit he will be easier to like. But for now.......
@@atomicdiscobiscuit He can't be one of the greats, he's almost 23, acts like 15 and has no drive to become consistently better. He is fun for the sport, has a a great style on court. Seem to enjoy himself on and off the court, but said himself he doesn't live for it and probably won't ever. Currently there are 3 players active with 15 slams or more (each), doing it for over a decade consistently, that 's all time great.
A match up of two attacking styles. It's wonderful how they play each other. Miami 2017 SF(?) between the two of them remains one of the best matches I've ever seen, period.
Watching HL when you miss the live match during a tournament is much different than watching after ending of the tournament. So, Yes it definitely is a little too late for that.
Say what you want, but Federer vs Kyrgios always has an extra something special in it. Is it because of the clashing temperaments? I don't know. Is it because of their different play styles? Maybe. But it is always a treat to watch this match, no matter the venue.
Say what you want about Kygrios, but he comes to play for the juggernaut opponents. He may be 1-5 against Federer, but has given Fed multiple very tough ones, then he's 3-4 vs Rafa and 2-0 vs Djokovic. Gotta respect that
@@Krishzboy You don't think they're trying 100% at Laver cup? Of course they are...you can tell by the way Roger celebrates, I'm not hearing "Federer wasn't trying his hardest" excuses
@@MrRazorblade999 after Roger lost the first set, Rafa pitched in and gave him some valid inputs to him. In the end when Roger won, he thanked him by showing his respect towards rafa...
He always shows up and does nothing his best result is 1/4 grand slam, you can't be great if you don't respect people which the same as respecting yourself you start from there.
He said he is one of the best grass court player ever, Wimbledon is the best GS and grass is for men and clay is lower tier. But Nadal the so called clay specialist thought him a lesson and kicked his ass in 4 sets Wimbledon
@WARRIOR FIGHTER PAHLAWAN you are all right "W.F.Pahlawan" ... I am fully agree ... They are greatest tennis player of all time "both" ... Thanks & God bless you my friend
I also noticed the blue probstaff 97. The all black one is the best looking they nailed it. The only thing I chanced are the bud-caps, the edges are too sharp they give me blisters. I had to grind the edges down for it to stop. Other then that I love them. Only for players with a near flawless technique who values control more then power because of the handle weight balance. They certainly helped Roger to come back winning slams
@@atrem7942 This racket has a bigger Headsize, 97 instead of 85 square inch like the old Pro Staff (Sampras, Courier, Edberg..) So the sweatspot ist bigger than a dollar coin ;-)
@@jjns5600 Wrong, everyone needs assistance, they actually had ones but cant talk with them during a pro match. And Fereder is a gentlemen and i know he listen to Rafa becouse he know how huge Rafa is.
When rafa went to shake hands with fed.. he hugged him..seeing these moments are so precious nd special coz i was watching that rivalry from the start and my gosh..and now..amazing
Seeing two legends of the sport coaching and playing with each other makes it one of the best events of the year. As I said in my comedic video on tennis players, Federer and Nadal are both in my top 5 favorite players, so seeing those two competitors as allies is something.
looking back at this, kyrgios always looks like he’s at his peak when facing roger. he always play at his highest level when against him. props to both men!
Roger-Nick: it's already classic Laver Cup and only 3 years old. I don't care how they say Nick misbehaves during the year, he takes Roger to the max, and he's such a team guy he melts our hearts. Never suspend him for the Laver Cup, please! I'm a Roger fan but Roger did a Djoker steal-victory on Nick here.
Never ever underestimate Roger's capability as he's a great player, performer and magician! Rafa's wonderful support for Roger is so touching and sublime. Having a good friend is indeed God's blessing!
2of my fav players. Watching the match I thought Nick would clinch it. He played really good with one sloppy game that cost him. The Maestro was patient and in the end brilliant.
After Rafa warmed up, he came and gave good tips to Roger which boosted his confidence, he needed a little push and coming from Rafa it was great help.
Federer is the only player Kyrgios respects on court. I might be wrong but I can't remember Nick showing his antics when Roger is on the other side. He said it himself in an interview, that Roger is the only player he considers a role model. When Federer did that insane drop shot against him in US Open 2018, he said he would have been mad if it wasnt from Roger, and he couldnt help himself but to applaud him.
I am just amazed to see how Nadal showed up on change over at 4-5 2nd set showed stats to roger and discussed strategy with him told him to try to build a rallies because nick won almost 80% points under 5 shots then BOOM roger changed the dynamics of the match and takes the match. RAFA and ROGER both play for each other Tennis is Rafa & Roger .. PERIOD
Super Roger. That shot between the legs by Kyrgios at a crucial time in the match actually spurred Roger, he must have said , don't try to toy with me. Roger changed gears from then on.
Like Roger as usual But seeing Kyrgios play with Roger(or at least any player) is just entertaining. Hope Nick is going to play constantly better next season 😎
Can we please have a Laver Cup tournament in South Africa. Durban , Cape Town , Johannesburg are the ideal cities to host a Laver Cup. I really want to meet / see Rod Laver and Federer in South Africa .
Roger still can able to play another 3 years very nicely because he knows next-gen players are still below average that if Nadal and Novak do not play any particular grand slam then Roger will easily win as he will get huge mental boost which happened same for Nadal in US Open 2019. Until and unless big 3 gets any big injury or any next-gen player start destroying them in all surfaces I don't see Nadal, Novak and Federer retiring soon and Tennis Organisers are very smart here and that is why they continuously introducing new tournaments like Laver Cup, ATP Cup which is good for next-gen players for getting a chance to play with big 3 and learn from them and also good for viewers because we are getting more chances now to experience the legacy of big 3 before they retire.
Nick is a giant, people come to see him not the others, they are boring, they expect what he will do in the next second. With Nick tennis has new dimension.
