I just found your channel; I follow a few farmers and have always curious about how dairy is handled in Europe. My background is I came from a farming family. We grew crops and had pigs. In school, I took agriculture and hoped to work for companies that designed and built equipment for farmers. But it is so fascinating that you do not radio collar your cows to track them during milking. Seen that with a few operations so that they can track heat cycles, movement, milk production, and changes in cow behaviour. Someone I also follow is a 10-generation dairy farmer, and he uses robots. Also, you mentioned getting hay in your slurry. Tom Pettlton Farms put in a system to separate hay from his slurry, which is pretty genius.
Great and informative video, Respect to your brother and you as well for being able to know and remembering the reasons why most ingrediensens are in the mix. Well feed cows you got for sure.

Another enjoyable vid as always Evie and Ben, it was good to hear from your brother about everything that goes into the TMR mix, also have you ever used molasses as part of the feed or not bothered with it, and your brother is a lot more at ease in front of the camera than he realises.

Evie your cows do really look well .Ben certainly know s his stuff on feeding cows. Isn’t it so different than years ago there was not of that mixing like they do now but cows give loads more milk than they did years ago Your feeder waggon does a good job all this mechanism that there is today is brilliant makes life so much easier there’s no way you look after 300 cows as quick as Ben did every credit to you all you certainly do a fantastic job of looking after your cows. Excellent blog very informative, brought back a lot of memories from when we were farming in North Yorkshire,we live in western Australia now and I am retired now but would to get back to UK for a visit one
When I was farming dairy we use to feed them oats chopped up with Molasses cows love that it was like candy for them but great for there over all health and productivity.
That was a great informative vid Evie, 👍 bit hard to hear Ben sometimes, maybe try airpods to cut down background noise and give him one of them. Do you have regular checks for nutrition deficiencies, and do you ever feed molasses or fodderbeet?
.... well it sure isn't just chucking a bail at them ... all the bulk that was mixed, but what really surprised me, do not know why, was the buckets of minerals that were added .... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
How often do you run analysis on your ration ingredients? Do you also analyze the mixed tmr occasionally to ensure that what is being formulated is being fed? Do you work with a Nutritionist?

My dad was a stock driver when I was little many years ago now working for NWF , he would pick up from farms take to market transport live stock all over I think this is the reason I love farming so much take care 🙏🏻👏👏👏
