I actually agree with the week by week planning concept. A month is too long for our brain to comprehend, a day is too short and doesn’t have enough power to contribute to larger goals alone. I’ve been getting the best results from writing down my monthly targets and then filling each day of the week with some task that tangibly gets me closer to one of those targets. Once I’m done with my monthly strategy, I don’t spend time thinking about it anymore and only worry about keeping myself on track with my weekly schedule.

Question, so when you do a week by week concept did you do one thing everyday of the week or did you set a number of goals for whole week to be able to do? If so how many goals and how did you space them out?

@@starshine684 i have 1 big intellectually challenging task for every day, I’ve found that to be the most effective for how my brain works. I always end up doing more but this way I don’t have the pressure of trying to cross 5 things off my list. I can definitely aim for more than 1 task if it’s something that doesn’t require a whole lot of focus and energy. For weekly planning, I typically have an idea of what is “current” for a given week (going off of my monthly agenda) so i might be focusing on one thing over another and then switch the following week depending on priorities.

@@starshine684 there is this concept of top 3 that i also seem to benefit from. It means that at any given moment I don’t have more than 3 big goals/projects on my mind because my brain feels overwhelmed otherwise and i end up accomplishing nothing. This can be applied to daily/weekly/monthly planning

@@nomytheone thank you so much, this is a big help. I’ll definitely do the 3 goals a week you suggested. I used to accomplish many things in a day and it didn’t work out for me, but I think 3 goals a week will be way easier.
