Thank you so much for this absolutely insightful and helpful video! To summarize: 1) Keep things in perspective 2) Focus on the Good/Gratitude 3) Share struggles/feelings with others 4) Try to enjoy the journey

My favorite line from this video is "appreciated times of struggle are far more valuable than rushed-through periods of success." I love the challenge of enjoying the process because it's a reminder to live in the present and absorb the human experience.

Well this made me feel a bit better. It always felt like I was a failure and my life was over even though I'm 20 years old. So many of my peers have done so much and I've just been barely hanging on in school and work. Glad to know I'm not alone.

So glad it was supportive! The crazy thing about school is how much it can skew your perspective and have you think you're not very smart. I know SO many people who did not do very well in school who are now crushing it as entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, etc. I firmly believe that everyone is brilliant in some way shape or form, and the game just gets to be figuring out what that is! You got this!

@@HaydenHumphrey I wish people at 20 years old can say that they are still young and can still dream. You've got roughly 50-60 maybe even 70 years left of your life left on this planet and the clock is ticking. In your 20s you just have a lot of time. It's not over by any means. Sure, you're either in university or have just graduated, going to an either fulfulling or unfulfilling 9-5 job or whatever that time is for the next 30-40 years, retire at 60 or 65 and die. I'm 22 years old now and I think I am still young and I can still dream, yes it goes quick and I'll be 30 in a blink of an eye.

I’m 24 and feeling a bit lost! I’m appreciative for my first son who was born at 28 weeks and I watched him fight for his life. My Dr. said he may not pull through but they will try everything to keep him alive. He is now 3 and you can’t even tell he was a preemie. My OB said that my next would most likely be born a preemie but he made it to 37 weeks and is a healthy 1 1/2 year old now. My most difficult time was deciding to leave my ex husband 3 years ago. Realizing it was the best year of my life I escaped the abuse after 6 years (I was 16 and he was 26.) After he moved back into his mom’s house it hit me no more abuse and I’m free. It’s been almost 3 years divorced (the best 3 years of my life!) Career wise I feel lost. I relied on dancing and adult content for money, I’m ready to be free from it. I want to feel like I’m more than just a body or empty shell.

Social media really has a habit of making someone feel behind in life. I’m trying to understand and cope with we all are on our own journey. Comparing myself to others isn’t living my own life, it’s trying to live in the shadow of someone else’s. Career wise I’m trying, I just don’t want to work a “traditional” job. I am grateful for people who have supported me, when I didn't even feel worthy of support. Some of these people I know, some I have only conversed with online. I'm 24 years old and struggling with finding the right path for me. Both my older and younger siblings have pursued college degrees and are carving out lives for themselves. Meanwhile I have some health issues that have held me back, and I'm still living with my parents with not much on the horizon. I don't even have a driver's permit/car yet. It's really discouraging to see people my age or younger who kind of have their futures mapped out, meanwhile I feel stuck and completely lacking direction. I can only hope that I will one day find SOMETHING that will at least be a stepping stone to a career and lifestyle that I can truly enjoy AND hopefully be proud of. I am insanely grateful for the people who have shared their own fears with me, and have told me that it's okay to be apprehensive about the future, while still looking forward to being independent. The people who have reminded me that I don't have to fit the mold in order to find a place where I fit in, have been extremely encouraging.
@HaydenHumphrey
@HaydenHumphrey 2 года назад
Love this Anna, thank you so much for sharing where you're at! I totally get how that can be confronting/discouraging to feel like others have it mapped out and you don't. What I would share with you is that 1) most people don't have it figured out as much as they seem like they do (we rarely share our real struggles with strangers out loud on the internet), and 2) things can change insanely quickly. I actually was super burned out the last few months of last year, and questioning whether Coaching and this work was something I wanted to continue to do. But that's all totally shifted in the last few weeks, and I feel invigorated, excited, and clear on where I'm going. Again, thank you for sharing and keep us in the loop on how it's all progressing!
@Panda72021

@@HaydenHumphrey I had a medication increased a few months back and my health issues have been more under control than they have been since I started having symptoms back in 2011. I just passed my driver's written test/got my learner's permit today! Feels surreal, I've been looking forward to this for a while (granted a lot of it was apprehension about driving) to the point where I questioned if I would EVER drive... Still quite a bit of anxiety, but with a touch of excitement. I also have had two house/pet-sitting jobs come up from people I know (one I did a few weeks ago...the other is coming up soon) which has given me the opportunity to earn some cash. I feel like my life is FINALLY starting to manifest, or I'm at least moving in the right direction for a change. Having something to look forward to has been GREAT for my mental health; true, the anxiety still kicks in, but I feel like my depression has improved and I'm feeling more positive.

I really needed to see this today. I often feel lost, and I'm late 30s. Although I have success in some parts of my life, I feel behind in others. Not only is this in comparison to friends and family, but I feel the social pressure at my age to get a move on with certain things (like starting a family, having more wealth). It bothers the hell out of me because in my early 20s I had achieved what I wanted to growing up. You know when kids are asked what they want to be when they grow up, and it's usually something pretty crazy or near unattainable? Well, I did it. And even cut it short having ticked that box. I've struggled to keep the same sort of motivation with things since.. I know I can achieve almost anything I want...just not really sure WHAT I'm working towards day-to-day.

To me, lack of clarity or feeling lost comes from being out of touch with ourselves and our desires, and journaling is like having a conversation with yourself - it can help you reconnect with what you want most. I really appreciate that Fuschia. I want to create the best quality content I can. Can I ask specifically what you enjoyed about this video vs. others?

@@HaydenHumphrey For one thing, you’re a very good and clear speaker, and you explain everything so eloquently, yet simply for everyone to understand. A lot of self-improvement content creators will make themselves sound like they’re above everyone else and have all the answers (at least those are the vibes I get) with their extra philosophical quotes, jargon, and such. You come across a lot more down to earth, as if you’re still on this journey, but you know what you’re talking about because you’ve taken the first steps. As someone who’s chronically ill and spends most of their time in bed, I also have a hard time finding videos that could be applied to people like me. I have an interest in this genre of content, just because I find life so fascinating, and I want to get the most out of it, even with a non-properly-functioning body. I’ve spent many, many hours in the past decade watching videos on motivation, inspiration, life coaching, time management, self improvement, etc., and this video was the first one in months I’ve come across that offers a fresh perspective on ideas I've come across in the past. I could go on and on because loved every point you made in this. I’ll save it for the future in case any of my friends seem like they could use your wise words. I’ll be checking out your other videos too. Wishing you the best of luck with your channel!

@@fuschiarose Fuschia thank you so much for taking the time to type this out and share it with me! Really helps me to better understand (and affirm in some cases) what folks are looking for, and what kind of style resonates with people. I love talking about how to live a better life, and the process of taking much larger, more complex ideas and breaking them up into more digestible bits and pieces, and that's what I hear from you is really working. Again, thank you for the feedback and kind words. Excited to have you in my community!

Bro Wtf? How can you keep making videos for so many years when you only have just a few views in most of them? I cant believe your tenacity. I really wanna know how can you keep doing it when you dont have results yet. Dont misunderstand me i dont mean something bad im just curious as to how you still can keep going? I'm amazed.

Haha no love the question my man! Two things: 1. I’m more committed to the end-goal (building a successful channel), than I am committed to “looking good” or stopping when it gets hard. Everything is possible, if you’re unwilling to stop. 2. I love the process! I just love making videos and being on camera, so the lack of views doesn’t upset me or bother me all that much. What are you up to in the world my man? What do you want to create?

For some reason I always have to remind myself to enjoy the process of the struggle…I blame that m&m commercial when the therapist tell the lil candy men that “you feel stuck because you are stuck” (lol ik that’s childish but…you know) ….so I always end up forcing the process instead of relaxing

Why are you only going to get to figure out your life purpose once? That doesn't make sense.
@HaydenHumphrey
@HaydenHumphrey 2 года назад
Thanks for sharing! I guess it's more of a turn of phrase - the idea that there's a core purpose for you in life; the thing that you are most lit up by and care most about. Once you find that thing, you won't need to continue searching - hence the figuring it out once.

Comparison is a big part of advertising and mass media, which informs the way we function on the street and in the workplace . Watching commercials, action movies and Romance flicks with actors who are sexier, smarter, tougher and slicker than us teaches us to feel we are not enough from a very young age. This leads to depression, rage, a loss of willpower and it also leads to massive envy. To say nothing about what happens starting in kindergarten all the way up to senior graduation in highschool. We're taught in a consumer culture that buying tons of stuff, getting "good grades" (instead of learning useful craft & labor skills), flexing our status within the system and scoring perfect peer conformity is "success", instead of honoring contentment, family values and the passing down of strong legacies to our kids. Were trained to become narcissistic, mentally ill, passive, guilty and delusional, not realistic, determined, resilient and sane. I unplugged from Television for a while now and never use (and could never get why anyone in their right mind would use) most popular social media apps like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. It helped me find so much peace of mind. I'd say try getting out to nature more and try getting back into reading, even if it's only for 30 minutes a day, to increase your attention span and your thinking capacity is helpful. Read books that you personally enjoy and that benefit you spiritually and even financially. Share your knowledge with others face to face, those who you actually trust. Most people don't care about humbly learning new things, they've been trained out of common sense, so don't cast your pearls before swine, as the saying goes. Once you realize the corporate culture you live in is in a psychological war against you, your family and your self worth so it can make money off of your brokenness, then you'll see that all you have to do is unplug from the message that your TV set, your peers and your parents say, which is: "You are not enough if you don't buy X, Y, & Z. You must marry at this age, earn these degrees & licenses, have a house in the suburbs with this square footage, have this type of car and have this income or you are a worthless and weak loser." True winners set the standards for their own success. It is between them and God. The true losers allow others to dictate how they think, walk, talk and act on a second to second basis. A society that sets its own people up for a quarter and mid life crisis isn't very sustainable, obviously. Were not evolved to live in oversized metropolises and run on miserable wage treadmills to please peer groups, middle managers and corporate CEOS, were born to be free, moral, self determining and self reliant people who can defend their rights, have their own land, cultivate that land and to raise tough families who will not be pushed around by big business and big government into living standard issue, mass produced lies that don't fit who they are.
