Kyle went to the log cabin so I had was in charge of getting firewood, melting snow so the chickens could have water, running the generator to charge up our solar batteries & more... IG - cierrameyerberg & kylescabin
Skeeter is one blessed dog! You even reached into the abyss under the chicken coop for his ball! That is love!!❤️😁 Kudos on your solo homesteader gig!👏🏻 You crushed it!👍🏻
Was there ever a doubt that you couldn't solo For a couple days at the Cabin. Nicely Done. Good on you and Kyle. Now you can help with the daily chores Kyle does. Team Work makes the dream work. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Awesome to see you have your own channel now! Love seeing off grid life from a woman’s perspective, we need more of us on here! Love the chat with the chickens 😆
Its so great that at you guys young age you have a home debt free that you've built for your selves. You all are really setting yourself up to win at life
My wife Terry was terrified to drive our motorhome (20 yrs. ago) until she was home alone, and we had an earthquake. NO HESITATION, she jumped in the motorhome and drove to each of our kid's home's to make sure they were all right. My only fear was for the other drivers on the road with her. You would be surprised at what you can do when "proper motivation" comes to town.
Great to accomplish this life on your own. I also over the years have challenged myself and succeeded. 🌸. Don't get me wrong I so very much love my husband and we love learning every day with each other even after 49 years. Life is experiencing our strengths. When you get to town look for matching fabric for your coat, I made patches in a triangular shape for my Husbands down jacket he scorched on a propane heater.🌸
You are just the greatest young lady. We had a springer long ago.I know you will be fine without Kyle.. 4 degrees! I have never been in that type of weather. We live near the beach in So Cal.
Poor buddy!, My heart broke when Kyle left. Skeeters Daddy went on an adventure without him😞. Loved the video kudos to you and keeping the home fires burning. This video piggy backed perfect with Kyle's it was cool to see your point of view while he was gone checking out the pictographs and cleaning pine marten mayhem. It's a lot of work heating with wood I did it for five years at my old house and I still miss it, it is so satisfying. Be well and looking forward to the next one.
This is great seeing the life of not only Kyle but now you . I like how well.you record the little details for example,,the visual and audio of the coffee ☕️ beginning its drip..aahhh bri gs the viewers in close as they were almost right there. Keep it up please.. Thanks so much again.. Peace🤙
i just love you guys! i found your channel a few days ago and i am really enjoying your videos. Makes me wish i was younger and could live this lifestyle. Keep making videos and i will keep watching them !
I liked seeing you having a chill morning in your jammies on the couch. I’ve wondered if ya’ll work, work, work or if you have time to just relax and enjoy.
Way to go Cierra. You and Kyle make a powerful team. Really enjoy the content from your channel, and a huge fan of Kyles channel and a long-time viewer/subscriber. Your RU-vid name change is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
I like your weekly menu idea. I made a list of all the things we like and broke them down into categories such as stews and roasts that take an hour or more to prepare and cook, meals ready in 30 minutes or so and quick snacky things ready in under 15 minutes. And most of these things we can prepare by what we have on hand. Really helps when you can't think of what to have so you don't resort to eating junk food or sandwiches ... again! We go to the list and choose what we want to eat or feel like preparing.
Great job Cierra. You handled it like a real trooper. By the way, you really have a good arm. You throw better than some men. I love watching Skeeter run. I wish I had half of his pep. Thanks for a good video. You guys stay safe.
Great video Cierra You did a fantastic job taking care of chickens Skeeter and cabin When you cook you make me so hungry Take care and see you next time
It looks like you can manage on your own up in the Northwoods pretty darn well! I like the channel name change. People get some nutty ideas about what "off the grid" means and how "you are supposed to do it." BTW, when melting snow I like to leave it 1/4 full of water in the pot when adding the snow. This helps me to pack more snow in the pot. Otherwise if the snow is fluffy I'll end up with as little as 1/3 pot of water, even if I've packed it down. Thanks for the video Cierra!
Im very happy for you both.Your house is great and your cooking makes my moith water.I watch both your channels and uour living a great life with the peace and quite and a slower pace there which i think nowdays most people lack.Best to Skeeter and to yous stay healthy and safe.Cliff of New Jersey.
Nice job Cierra! Skeeter looked a little disappointed though when he had to stay behind. But it looked like he made the best of it. Sorry about your jacket. If you wanted you could sew a oval elbow patch on each elbow. Question: How do you do your laundry? Also do you ever plan to try a solo trip by yourself to the remote cabin? It was a fun video watch to see how both of your experiences were! Nice idea!
Cierra you did an excellent job looking after the cabin, the chickens, and getting wood for the fire. I’m sure you have the confidence to do it again if kyle decides to go on a trip. Take care and be safe. (Judy NB)🇨🇦🌲
Tell Kyle not to worry about you. Us women can handle this just fine, as you managed to do all day without his help. Now, go on your hiking, camping trips......I got this. Plus if I need help you got fellow women here to help. You did wonderfully Cierra, & I like the name of your RU-vid site. Keep it up woman.....lol!!!!!
Hey girl you’re more than what you think you’re more than capable of running your little homestead by yourself Kyle has been a great help but your a smart woman so there it is lol
Absolutely love these videos. Always wanted to live this life but I married a city Feller 😊. Not being critical, but why is your door not airtight and insulated!? Seems like it's an easy fix to keep the heat in and save on wood.
Love the new channel name change, and you done well taking care of everything that needed attending too, skeeter in all,and of course the chickens, and food looked yummy, and ty for sharing this all🐶🐔☕👍😊...
Loved it! You and those Brussel sprouts lol, believe it or not I've never had them? I love fruits and vegetables, I guess I've never researched how to cook them? Idk
Love the video Cierra. Hopefully videos like yours will give people on honest perspective of what off grid living is like esp for women. Some things may seem like a lot of work but sure would beat life in the drama filled society we have right now !
I like the name change 👍 it's great to see you take over the homestead and you seem to have handled it with ease. It's a good confidence builder knowing you can do what needs to be done. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next!
Love the new Name, it fits well! One of your best videos and always fun to watch. Kyle should be very proud of you young lady. You and Skeeter make a great team. My dogs name was Skeeter too. He passed last year at 16 years, a Chinese Pug/ Border Terrier mix. We had many adventures together and he was a hoot just like your dog. I love you and Kyle and am always scanning Utube for your new vids. You guys have a great following! God bless and thank you!
I suppose you get used to the 🥶 cold, I’m not sure I’d cope🤣, every were looks so beautiful though, your chucks still producing lovely eggs, Skeeter is one happy dog with his ball, enjoy xxx
I had watched Kyle's travel / trip video before yours and was wondering what you were doing while he was gone. These videos are always interesting and fun to watch. You always make me hungry. I will have to try the eggs with the seasonings, looks so good. Skeeter is great company for you, when Kyle is gone. He almost flies through the snow. These videos (yours and Kyle's) are good company since I live alone. You did excellent on your own. Thanks for posting. Take care. --TGG
This is what I call living the good life. New to your channel. Love the content, very much I do. Thank you! Partner and I live in a cabin too. Coming at you from Oregon. Never a dull moment. Bacon drippings make the best potatoes, absolutely.
I'll mention the "kindling cracker," again a hefty iron "upside down blade" used with a 3 or 5lb sledgehammer that beats down on the piece of wood. Zero risk of slicing off fingers!! Would work great on that light pine or poplar; I've used it on oak, np. During bad weather, I'll crack kindling in the garage, just a little messy. Cierra you can do this easily. If done in cabin, put maybe two layers of cardboard down to protect floor. May need ear protection. Kyle would love it. Safety. Production.
You did awesome on your own!!! I'm definitely going to try the lemon pepper and paprika on my eggs! Really like the name change on your channel. I think it does fit better! Enjoyed seeing Skeeter! He's a joy to watch!
Great job Cierra. I appreciate your sense of humor. I’m sure Kyle missed you as much as you missed him. I love seeing the pollos (chickens). I have pet birds and it’s always fun to watch them. Sucks about the jacket. I have the same luck lol 😆. Take care and my best wishes.
New here. Thank you for video. Who is kyle? How blessed you are. I am truly alone in a cabin in the mountains, 9000 ft., no kyle or help. I thought you were another woman doing this life alone. Maybe I have just not seen enough of your videos to hear the story. You are blessed. Wood is my biggest challenge and snow removal. lol But love cabin life. Love your cabin too and the pup!!
You and Kyle are awesome, watching you live off grid is the coolest! My daughters are also dancers... at the "other studio" ..wish I could get them to switch😬
Ya done good girl. And skeeter is so spoiled. Gotta mention that the potatoes n brussel sprouts looked delicious cooked in the bacon grease. I have to try that.
Great video! So satisfying watching you both stoke the fire. meanwhile im paying 600 dollars this month for my 200 year old drafty house electric heating bill :/
Bravo Sierra! For several days I have been saying that you are a brave and responsible girl! You both are a great couple of cheerful people with a friendly wonderful dog. I greet you from far away PL. 😘
That dinner looks delicious!! Great job Cierra, I knew you could hold down the fort no problem! Great job 👏 Skeeter looks content! I would chill by the fire 🔥 with Skeeter for sure! 46 is a little chilly, stoke the fire and some hot coffee should do the trick!
First time commenter, been watching Kyle since he started the first cabin. Just wanted to comment to say I wish you both good luck this year with your venture! I also want to suggest switching your dish washing soap to one that is more environmentally friendly. Dawn is (Petroleum based) really bad for the environment. I highly recommended buying some Dr. Bronner's castile soap or an equivalent. It's such a versatile soap you can use all around the house.
$10 tax to the next person who comments on front door cracks. If one READS the commentary, you'll see that Cierra already answered that TWICE -- the door is sealed with clear caulk.
Cierra, love your channel! I am setting up my off-grid place too. I've seen videos of Kyle building different bathhouses, but what’s your current winter shower/bathing setup? Would love to see a video on that!
we have a shower in our bathroom that is hooked up to hose that pumps water from a stock pot into the shower. so we have to melt snow right now until spring when we get a well
Sorry about your fireplace mishap, I’m certain any decent seamstress in town should be able to stitch/patch the area. Anyone asks just tell them it’s a battle scar from living up north.
get a couple of leather patches for the elbows on your jacket, i would sew the hole first so it doesnt rip further, then either glue or sew the patches on. love the neckwarmer, i crochet a lot and I am making turtle hoodies (pattern on You Tube) for next winter, Our winters are different from yours in that we dont get a lot of snow, more ice storms and our temperatures arent as cold as yours are but we do get a lot of polar blasts from the south pole as there is no land mass between the antarctic and us and we are just far enough south to have bitter winters (south island of new zealand)
