Dani, one of the reasons why every Indian pageant incorporates some kind of dance, either from outgoing queen or from a bollywood actor or actress is (1)Its a huge part of Indian culture (2)The Indian pageant Fandom is actually not that huge. So incorporating dances from bollywood stars increases trp of the show and provides more income to the organization and telecast partner. Usually outgoing queens never dance in Miss India, but since this year's outgoing queen is an excellent dancer, the asked her to do the opening number.

The gowns are sponsored. All gowns were sponsored by the Miss India Organization and Bhawana Rao Couture (Designer). So the girls did not have much of a choice. But these gowns are far much better than the gowns of pervious years of Miss India.

Till last year, Miss India had the franchise of Miss United continents but I think they dropped it this year, so the 1st runner up Manya Singh will not go there and that's why she was crowned as 1st Runner up Miss India! She may be appointed later if a pageant comes by, it totally depends on the organization!

Actually, all 31 state finalists went through 2 months of virtual training, masterclasses, subcontest and various competitions. From them, Top 15 was selected. They came to Mumbai for the offline finale night. They were in Mumbai for 12-14 days and went through another round of subcontest, training and competitions. A day before finale, they had a sort of "preliminary competition". The judges judged them on (1)Rampwalk skills in a cocktail dress competition (2) Personal Closed Door Interview. So the organization just wanted to do the finale as quickly as possible and get it done with because they have already seen these girls for 2.5 months and already knows the qualified and best contenders.

The girls who have competed in Miss India cannot rejoin the pageant. But they can join Miss Diva which elects representatives for Miss Universe and Miss Supranational.

The selection of top 5 from top 15 was done majorly on personal interview that carry major weightage (around 70%) like close door interview at Miss Universe! Rest 30% was based on the stage presence, confidence, and many subcontests and the organization was noticing the contestants since 2-3 months,they were having sessions and master classes and that's how top 15 were cut down to top 5!

Dani, the Miss India Organization assigns different tiles of Miss World India, Miss Grand India and Miss United Continents India based on who is well suited for that type of international pageant. Upto Top 3/5/6, the whole marking system is based on points on preliminary and finale competitions. Once they reach Top 3/5/6 and once thier answers are heard, the whole crowning is entirely based on the organizations preference to send who to which international pageant.

Yess the crowning is done in the binining filipinas way , and manya will not be representing india sadly because femina miss india does not have the contract with united continents any more. And loved you video ❤️😘

The pagent was a long process initially there were 31 contestants from 29 states, national capital and Union Territories from there they selected top 15 after various sub contests and virtual rounds and the top 15 state reps was invited for physical pagent there also they had various subcontests and interviews and its based on all that they selected top 5 from 15. And yes the winner is selected based on which girls profile work for which pagent with maximum emphasis given to Miss world

They does go on the point basis , as far as i know , they know who the best choice for each title is going to be so i believe they already have theif eye on the winners and the show go with that flow as the person at position high have the weightage over the dicision of the judges.

i tried hard to keep this short....till 1994 it used to be based on scores ...no1 for universe , no 2 for world, no 3 for international.... in 1994 ..sushmita defeated aishwarya (who was a favourite) but later on both won their respective universe and world... in 1995 they decided to treat world and universe equally ...saying that we r choosing girls who are more appropriate for t pagents .. but unofficially it was still no 1 that went to universe and no 2 that went to world... from 1994 till 2000 india had won 4 worlds and 2 universe .... and both miss universe and miss world love to have the best girls competing not the second best ... in 2007 they decided that no.1 would compete in world and no2 wud compete in universe .... outgoing miss india universe of 2006 neha kapoor refused to crown her successor bcoz even though she was the winner in her time but wud now have to crown the runner up instead ... former miss world priyanka chopra (who was a judge and instrumental in sending t winner to world )crowned the first runner up.... also there was pressure from world on times group (organisers) to send the best girl... then by 2010 universe had a seperate contest called i am she run by sushmita sen universe 1994 without much pagent success for 3 yrs then times took over in 2013 with miss diva contest till now miss india universe has been neglected over t years where we sent second best untrained girls and they did not even place .... now it seems to b picking up ...lets see miss india used to have a lot of commercial value in t past as winners used to get a free ticket into bollywood... top indian models competed then ...but most of them never succeeded.... over time ... infact girls who did not have any pagent history were far more succesful in bollywood and hence the interest in miss india waned off over the years .... so we dont even get really good girls to compete as well ....now things seem to b looking up ...over t last 3-4 years in short they say they send appropriate girls ... but i still believe it goes on scoring ...nothing seems to be transparent these days...i loved it wen t scoring was public in the past

1. Dance forms are a integral part of Indian culture. Dance in India is not just about moves, it has its own value and teachings. There are various different Indian dance forms such as kathak, Bharatnatyam, Bhangra, Lavni. 2. They have a pageant journey of 30-35 days (although this time it was only 15 days) they basically test them in various fields like their body fitness, their smile, their vivacious aura. The judges give them points but these points are never talked about or displayed to the public and I have always being a pageant person and the one thing that I have noticed is that usually the preliminary rounds during the pageant journey matter a lot, since last 5-6 years top 3 contestants are awarded miss rampwalk, Miss charming smile and miss body beautiful. Hoping this is helpful❤️

Dani we indians dance in almost every family function, weddings, etc. We really love dancing and pretty everyone in India can dance atleast the basic steps.

Also I watched Miss Universe 2002 and I loved the setting of it. I loved how the girls had to pose in front of the swimming pool while the scores were shown in the pool. Loved the vintage music playing in the background. Everything all together was great. It was just so vintage! But now it looks like a regular runway and setting doesn't seem that interesting tbh

Hi Dani! This is really nice that you made a video on Miss India pagent. Per your question, yes dance is something here, because all the queens wheather they win or not win International title, they have to be successful in Bollywood if they want to remain as a celebrity. Though it has changed a lot, but still if someone can't dance (men or women) hardly have any future in Bollywood. And if we talk about popularity of show, then the producers have to have incorporated dance numbers (otherwise TRP would fall). Even you watch our Bollywood awards shows, it's also have more dance numbers than the awards! Hope, you get it now :)

its part of our life we have lot of talented people who can rock the stage and no matter which movie u see in India u know we have like5-6 songs in each song u get to see our dance ....main reason its celebration of life..

its just that they choose whos best for that pageant...But,most of the time 1st place miss world 2nd place grand and last one for united continents and there was one time they have send the one in top 5 to united continents rather than 3rd one

Dance is a very important part of Indian culture... Each of the 26 states has its own dance form..... And dance is part of Indian movies too.... Classical....western...all dance forms are enjoyed here.. Dani..Hope you have seen AGT in which the Indian dance team won the first prize....

Manya was crowned RUNNER UP not 1st or 2nd but just a runner up who don't get the chance to represent India intlly untill the org wantz them to go for but they're not going for any of the intlly pageant when they're crowned so that is why she was sashed runner up and THE MISS UNITED CONTINENTS franchise MISS INDIA dropped so from this year NO MISS UC under femina otherwise they used to send some sfunners to this pageant. funfact INDIA made history when in 2016 LOPAMUDRA won the best in natcos for 3rd time in a row for INDIA . So for now FEMINA just have 2 titles and runner up who will not go for intl pageant untill the org wants but Majorly , no runner up from FEMINA goes to INTL pageant .

Hey Dani, here is the thing that will answer your questions... 1. First of all the show was edited, in terms of transactions and timings, like gown walks were shorten down and etc. 2. Top 5 cut was not just based on the Finale Show.. apart from virtual selection, Top 15 were also physically stayed and gave performances for different sub contests etc. at the hotel. So, Top five decision was surely not quick. 3. Femina Miss India no longer holds the franchise for Miss United Continents.. So obviously she was given Runner up.. tho there are rumours regarding she might go to Miss Charm. which is also not confirmed. 4. Miss Grand India 2020 will represent at 2021 edition so India have a different representative at current MGI edition. 5. How they choose top 3 for which pageant is not clarified by Org.. however since last few editions it seems that they are choosing it based on the suited girl for suited pageant. 6. Already you might have seen about the Dances and India.. It is really true that dances are integral part of Indian culture however it is not compulasry but ppl in India value it. and It's a way to preserve the culture. In fact there are different folk dances in India as per the different region and state or u can say every region or state in India is like a different country. You can refer to the Dances of India segment of Previous miss India edition as well. Also It is true Dance numbers are more in numbers to increase the TRP. 7. This year's Runner up Manya went on viral in India after winning Miss India runner up title.. bcz of her background and inspirational story. I hope that has given u a lot to understand more.. Yes Dani, dance is a part of everyday life in India. People here just want a reason to dance, may it be weddings, festivals, award shows etc. We grow up dancing. Gujarat a state where I am from celebrates the festival of Navratri meaning (9 nights) every year. During those 9 nights people come out of there homes fully dresses in traditional ghagra-choli, and dance till around 3 am in the morning. There is food, there is dj, people of all ages and gender just gather to celebrate, dance, eat and enjoy. 🥰🥰🥰

yup dance is a very huge part of the Indian culture . We have 28 states in India and almost all states have a different dance form! Usually Femina Miss India incorporates all the dance forms but this year as the half of the pageant was virtual and all the conditions weren't favourable so they just did it on 2-3 songs

5:3 she was one of the favorites but I think it's a wrong decision by the judges...she is the best speaker amongst the contestants..hope she come back...

Dani, the major tiles of Miss India are Miss World India and Miss Grand India. The runner up chosen have been sent to Miss United Continents. But we don't know if Miss India Organization holds the franchise for it. They used to hold it for previous years, but this year is a bit vague on that part. Sometimes the Miss India Organization can buy the franchise of some other international pageant and then send her to that. The possibility is there. But they will announce it later, if so.

No it does not happen like that once the girls make it to the top 5, the girl who scored the highest is given the highest Pageant which is Miss World and then it follows back. Miss India pageant keeps it fair for everybody because the girls who enters Miss India everyone's dream is to represent India at Miss World. So they give the girls every fair opportunity to represent themselves as well as the country at Miss Word !!

Hello ma'am . The top 5 were selected on the basis of their attitude, behaviour and many other things as the were mentored by the judge itself Mrs Neha Dhupia. And Ms. Manya Singh will not represent India in any international pageant because they have not renewed the licence for Miss United Continents, that's why they announced her as the runner-up

Miss United Continents hails from Ecuador and the official language of the pageant is Spanish. It's fun to watch.

Till last year they had Miss United Continents ...but they decided to not have the franchise anymore !!

Usually femina miss India is longer but and mostly happens in a stadium or a huge place and budget but this year due to the pandemic the final show was really short and it took place in a hotel other there even more dancing and singing performances than we saw

Initially there were 31 contestants representing.....they had grooming and fun period of over a month (on-line) and an interview round as well to select top 15 and those 15 were called for offline mode of pageant and again an interview round was done to select the top 5 that we see in the finale

Dancing is definitely a huggeee part of Indian culture . We have 100s of dance forms ranging from traditional once like barathanatyam, Kathak, kuchupudi etc and other folk forms too like bhaagra, bihu, gharbha etc which origin and form part of the cultural diversity ans celebrations of diff states. dani the best of indian pageantry is it is affordable .. they hardly spend few dollars for registration and tr rest is sponsored by the organisation. this country has misery and luxury both and the organisation does not want to have girls only from the provileged status of the society .

The RU is not going to United continents and sadly she can't join again. Femina miss india have dropped the franchise. Also they pick the winner a/c to the international pageant of which they have franchise . The top 15 to top 5 is based on the behind the scene and the interview just like miss world this is why they don't have preliminary And yes dance is the important part of culture, we express our emotions through songs and dance . In bbp they choose in where they will be more successful Because I remember in 2016 Kylie versoza is the best that night but she ended up as bb international and lucky she won in miss international while Maxine Medina also give a good fight in miss universe as a top 6 finalist. Miss india org is a business.Somewhere they make plans and the results are not solely because of the individual performance. Unless you are extra ordinary there is no guarantee your hard work will pay off. An unpopular opinion: This year the contestants could not set standards or the org failed miserably.!

Only once a girl can participate in fbb femina miss india after winning the state level... If they willing to participate again in beauty pagents they can participate in different national pagents like miss diva..

No, dance is not a big part of daily life of people in South Asia. What you are seeing is basically Times of India Group that has been associated with Indian Bollywood movie industry trying to imitate and captivate the movie loving audience. As a matter of fact, many pageant fans and critics of Miss India have pointed to these performances as the major reason for the downfall of Miss India as a content and a televised event. Its really boring and they have been doing it more and more every year since 2009.
