Wear an extra pair of socks because this film will knock them right off. This week we discuss Femme, the Neo-noir thriller and debut feature from directing duo Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping.
In Femme, we see Jules targeted in a horrific homophobic attack, destroying his life and career. Some time after that, he encounters one of his attackers in a gay sauna and wants revenge.
We discuss the inspiring journey of this film getting made, from short to feature, plus a whole new cast, with the support of Agile films. You go Agile films! We discuss the simply astounding performances from Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay. We give serious props to the shoestring budget, the unbelievable 3 week actor prep time, and the quality of the scriptwriting.
TW: this film features a lot of sexual violence.
Available to stream on Netflix.

What a beautiful channel, a beautiful studio, comfortable for the eyes, and beautiful microphones. I hope you put an Arabic translation because the support on the channel deserves more than that, and the Arab community will follow the entire clip if it is available. It is an Arabic translation. We kind of love these clips. Good luck ❤️

There's that word again! 🤩 haha I tend to steer clear of movies with sexual assault, but one thing I'm hearing this does well is blurring the lines between protagonist and villain. That's always something I love to see, because it introduces complex emotions into a complex scenario and it feels very true-to-life. It just goes to show that Hollywood needs to reexamine how they intake movies, because a small film like this can pack an emotional punch that some huge-budget films can only dream of. The last film I saw similar to this was the original 'I Spit On Your Grave'. After seeing that, I might be able to psych myself up enough to watch this. We shall see. Great episode! Much love. 💘
