Depends on the person and situation, if they value money over their own integrity, and how well you know your friends. I asked to borrow my friends car once for 3 weeks as it was during Covid and I had no car to get to work, but I told him I'd buy insurance on it for 30 days under my name, until my own car was fixed. Needless to say it went well, had the car back within 20 days. I do agree with you though, if it's for only a day or for something insignificant, id just drive them myself or tell them to get an Uber if I'm busy...

Defendant is the liar. Because she lied about stopping for pizza I can only presume that the accident happened at the pizza place, possibly in a narrow drive through lane. However she also lied about the boyfriend not being able to be there due to a protection order. It is always explained when getting a protection order that the only exception to an exclusion zone is in court on issues connected to the protection order. This would qualify under legal mediation regarding the disputes between the parties. He could have testified, however, she probably thought she is a better liar than him, so didn't want him there where he might tell a different story to hers.
@anndeecosita3586
@anndeecosita3586 Месяц назад
Well it’s possibly she wasn’t lying about that part because he might have told her he couldn’t come for that reason. The rest was definitely a lie.

@@anndeecosita3586 We see it in court all the time - defendants who claim that they didn't know that they couldn't do something under bond conditions. It is always a lie because the conditions are always clearly laid out at the time that bond is set. Of course, there are always those who only hear what they want to hear, but if they have the real information, then it is still a lie.. There is little difference between self-serving ignorance and deceit. However, this woman's attitude in court tells me that she is the one who rules what her boyfriend does or does not say, and I am sure that she is the one who concocted the nonsense about him not being there because of the protection order. She was too worried he would tell the truth. And it would probably be obvious to everyone that he is a guy who likes his pizza :)

@artistjoh
@artistjoh Месяц назад
@@frigid4realThe bumper estimate was for $1,129, but courts often round numbers because they are aware that shops inflate numbers ahead of a court case, and normally accept the lower rounded judgement. It is part of the game between courts and auto repairers. With anything automotive, the shops habitually inflate numbers for both insurance companies and courts, but ultimately negotiate once they know there is money available to do the job.
@dougedoug2105

There’s always a hidden lesson in JJ’s verdicts. The judgement amount could be attributable to depreciated value of the car by the time they made it to court, or it could be JJ’s subtle way of balancing the ⚖️ scales of justice. Giving the plaintiff the full amount could embitter the defendant and jeopardize the safety of the plaintiff as well. But it could also be JJ teaching the plaintiff a very valuable lesson; Don’t loan your personal vehicle to friends. 🤷🏾‍♂️ U never know the method behind JJ’s madness but I trust her judgement. 🙋🏾‍♂️My $.02
@tommyjones6866
@tommyjones6866 Месяц назад
Because she only had 1 estimate. If she brought 3 estimates and they were all between $1100 and $1300 she probably would have gotten the $1129. But JJ is using her experience to say "$1129 seems a little too high. You should be able to find a shop that will fix that for $1000." Its actually GOOD that the judge does this and will not just blindly accept whatever estimate a plantiff gives them.
@Cruise_227
