Man that Les Paul and a wide open Tone Master in your hands just sold Andertons and Fender a lot of these amps. I’m not sure you know just how important you are to guitar players everywhere in this crazy time we find ourselves. Keep being you, brothr
Yes, I agree with your post! Also, Dave, having an open mind to solid state and modeling amps, offers a breath of fresh air approach to reviewing these amps. Rather than getting hung up on the fact that these are only traditional cosmetically, Dave just plays the amp and judges it with his ears, if it sounds good, Dave's playing goes to a whole 'nuther realm!!!😎👍
For sure. Dave simpsons impressions on the boss katana, when he did his Jimi Hendrix tone years ago, i instantly ordered one. I have a feeling this is happening again lol
Lee should really consider adding Dave to his payroll and making him a regular gear reviewer/demo man. Don't get me wrong, Pete and Rabea and the rest are good... but Dave's playing is more engaging, with a much broader range. He brings something unique that none of them do, and an enthusiasm and authenticity that can't be matched.
Man, I gotta say... contents of the video aside, (I don’t mean to bring my personal problems out here to world) but all I’ll say is that I’m going through crazy hard times right now and suffering with bad mental health due to it. However, watching your videos really makes me forget everything for the time being , it makes me feel so much better and so much more relaxed. You are such a talented musician/RU-vidr. Your videos help me cope and heal, I can tell you are a fantastic person. As a fellow musician, Thank you again for getting me through tough times. Keep doing what your doing.
lovely to see someone in amongst the love for music. not showing off, not worrying about how good he sounds, just having some fun. makes for great tone
Sometimes you come across a vid that just makes you smile in fact grin the whole way through! Totally awesome demo, awesome playing as always, you sir have just made my day with this. Thanks Dave you really are a totally inspiring musician.
Its weeks later and I keep coming back to listen to the jam when you switch from the normal input to the vib input. It is such a nice jam, really makes me smile.
I'm sold, thank you Mr. Dave, you definitely just made my day.! And your personality is so refreshing and honest, completely uninhibited and totally fun. I've been looking at this amplifier and watching many RU-vid videos and their demonstrations, but you made this little girl amp come alive When you started putting it through the paces. I know there are many many folks out there who greatly appreciated your uninhibited straightforward no holds barred playing. It was very obvious Mr. Dave you were having a blast, Which made all of us smile from ear to ear watching you. And you just sold another amplifier for the Fender Corporation, Anyway, stay blessed my friend and keep yourself safe.
Amazing demo, amazing amp! I can’t believe how good that overdriven sounds coming from a solid state amp is. Looking forward to the next videos on the Tone Master.
Excellent that you get to review this amp. I've been waiting for one to arrive here at my local music store for months to try. Can't wait til you get a full review up.
This is the best demo of it I’ve heard, I love the look of joy on your face. The appeal for me is that with the attenuator you can get that sound at a more neighbour friendly volume if you’re a home player. I was set on getting the blonde version, but now I’m not as sure.
Thank you Dave! I ordered a Deluxe Reverb Tone Master a couple of days ago. And whilst I've been waiting for it to arrive, I stupidly went and read discussions by opinionated people arguing about the tone of this amp on the internet, which... made me feel sad and gave me buyer's remorse. But Dave, you have cured that remorse and doubt! This amp sounds GLORIOUS! I'm now excited again about the amp's arrival.
I played one in a shop when looking for a new guitar....I was amazed, and I own a tube Fender. This was when it had just come out, so I hadn't read about it yet. Then I read some of the negative comments in videos and realized how much BS is on the internet. I love it, and would love to own one.
@@scottlowe8657 tubes are overrated imo. I have a tube amp and I only use my solid state (marshall code100 head, which Dave hates :), it just works nicer for me. Enjoy your tone master, I know I would :)
I own a DR Tone Master, the Blackface version, and I so deeply love it, it's just the perfect amp for me, the best I've ever owned so far. It sounds beautiful, weighs nothing and is versatile and loud enough for every possible scenario I might need it. Recording on a studio? Yes, both from the speaker and the direct out with IRs. Playing live with my band? Yes, and I can adjust the attenuator on the back to keep my front pannel volume unaltered and still adapt the level to the room. Rehearsing or just noodling in my room? Yes, it can be quiet enough to play at 11:00 p.m. without sacrificing tone and upsetting the neighbors. My only advice? If you use distortion pedals (overdrive, fuzz, distortion, boost or even compressor), you might want to upgrade the firmware to get rid of the virtual bright cap. I upgraded mine to the firmware for the Blonde version, without bright cap and improved reverb control... And I'm convinced I've never played anything as good and versatile (again, for what I play/look for/do) Do enjoy your Tone Master and tell those tube snobs to keep their mouths shut! Greetings from Mexico!
So true man. Dave is the only person who gives these poor things justice, especially Marshall MG. Lee and Chappers are tube snobs lol My personal opinion: if someone says that amp is s*it, in most cases, he simply doesn't know how to properly dial the sound and/or simply sucks as a player lol ... and this has been proven so many times.
Captain Lee or Fender should give you this amp Dave. I'm 60 and it's the first time I hear a Fender Deluxe reverb sound that good. That was amazing. I'm speechless. Keep on rocking man.
Yes! I commented on one of your videos months ago begging for someone to let you borrow a tonemaster for a review. I bought one a year ago and I still obsess over it all the time. I knew you would love it. Great video!
I recently purchased this amp and honestly it was your video that got me to hit the buy tab. I love your show and got the Marshall Master Reverb 30 after watching and that amp is great so keep ‘‘em coming … entertaining educational excitement You put it all in there…Thanks Steve from Connecticut
👏👏👏Best ToneMaster (TM) review I’ve seen ! I’m a new Blonde TM owner and did a lot of research. I love this “virgin” approach of a simple camera/room mike setting, the unboxing, spontaneous genuine reactions, starting with the normal channel at low volume then moving through all the settings arriving at the maxed out overdrive setting attenuated to a tolerable level. Your decades of experience oozed out of your playing …the viewer can tell the amp is inspiring you and ultimately took you on an invigorating, transformative musical journey. Thank you for sharing and posting this. 👍😎
Dave this is so crazy...I literally just bought one of these today. So far my impressions are very positive. Never used the original but man does it have some serious snap to it.
I have been looking at these just recently as I dismissed them originally due to being ss. Then I see this video...... and that tone and the pure joy on your face. Amazing playing as always, and that TONE!!! Yeah I am picking one up in the am. I'm sold
Wow oh wow, one of the best demo videos I’ve ever heard and Dave you are a master axe man, I am awaiting my very own and in the back of my mind,I too had my doubts but........not any more so thank you day you are the MAN😎🎸😎
That tone dave wow love it man damn it really want 1 now! said it before ill say it again your playing inspires me tenfold keep up the great work love your content! Hope your bearing up good aswell watched your video on your struggles with mental health the other day and i as im sure a lot of other people can totally relate dave your certainly not alone and you will allways have the people of the tube here if you ever need to chat and without you even probably realising it your content helps a lot of us aswell through the struggles i can well and truly say that from the heart so thank you for your inspiration and amazing talent and hard work keep going brother much love our music will allways be there to heal and soothe us our forever friend \m/ xx
26:19 loving it! This type of ‘real world’ trying out an amp for the first time is great, you can tell if it’s good or not just by your expressions, loving the channel 👍🏻
Love your playing. I could listen to you all day. Excellent review. I think you sold me on this amp! Had second thoughts on this amp until I saw this video.
Every time I'm done watching one of your videos I pick up my guitar and I'm a better player than I was before. Thanks so much for that. Nice amp and review.
hello Dave !!!! in fact no mather what your gonna unbox !!!! you just kill it every time !!! we love you so much for your work !! in the name of all your subscribers !!! thanks from France my friend
best review of this amp ive seen, fed up of comparisons with the tube version! you can tell the presenters have made up their minds before they even listen to the tone master,it sounds superb to me.
You seem like a good dude and a fun hang! Very nice playing my man! I love my Tone Master Deluxe, I got the blonde one and went with the creamback speaker only because I play me country and blues. The Jenson has a great sound for Rock and Jazz!
Im going to be completely honest here, as soon as i heard Fender were releasing these and that they weren't valve, i looked the other way and didn't give them another minutes thought. How wrong I was!, my boss brought one into work and let me have a quick demo on it, seriously impressive piece of kit. If I had the money to purchase one right now for bedroom/studio and small gig use, this would be a no brainer as my go to fender amp. Great demo as per usual Dave!.
Today I bought my Delux Tone Master. Only difference is I have a really cool 75th anniversary plate on the back. Love it.. Thanks Dave for the review all them months back and to the Captain lending it to you..👍🇦🇺
Great playing as always, Dave!!! The Tone Master amps are for real - I think they're great. I've been on stage in a packed club and had my tube amp crap out in the middle of a song, and it SUCKED. I love my tube amps and my HX Stomp, but these amps are seriously good. So is the Katana Artist.
Jeeeezzz what an Insane sound, those licks with the LP teleport us to the old raw blues sounds.... outrageous.....at 20:48 my skin is all goose bumps. Is it just me? Cause I was salivating for a battery set to come in and start a jam...😍 This amp is a piece of art, so is your playin Dave. Thanks to the Captain to allow us the previlege to be able to listen to this pearl. I WANT ONE 😛
i feel your playing has become more and more like Mr Peter Green lately and its incredible. Your starting to look more at home on a LesPaul then a strat!! Never thought id see the day haha. great stuff, i now want one.
You're a young lad, Dave, but for we geezers the lightness of that amp is heaven-sent. Thanks for reviewing it. But then we know you can play a rubber band stretched across a 2x4 and it will sound like a Fender Custom Shop. Cheers!
I've had one for the last six months and it's lovely. Sounds great here too, Dave, even on your cam mic and loving the vid.. Btw mine came with both types of lead so my kettle went unscathed!
I've been eyeing these since release, but (and I know this is apples and oranges), I also wanted the Yamaha THR30ii (with the wireless gadget too) and I've ordered that instead. But your enthusiasm here tells me maybe down the road I need this one too! What a great sound. Thanks for this look at the amp!
Dude! That was immense. I’ve not a full fat LP but a 50s tribute...although the p90s are pure cool. The lester was next level cool....and my mrs will hate you for making me buy more gear (we live in a tiny house in Bath) You’re something else lad so ye’are 👏👏
Cool demo and solid vid, thanks! I’m arriving late to the party but I’m really interested in these Tonemaster amps. I’m thinking about getting the TM Princeton if I can find room in the budget. And great playing as always Dave!!
Dave! Fantastic, enthusiastic first go. I just picked up the Tonemaster Twin Blonde. I was thinking that I was living in an alternate universe until you confirmed my impressions...Thanks! Mine sounds just like yours...well maybe only on the reverb tails...maybe. My notes sound quite different. I don't think it's the amp...probably not.
That LP though the Fender is monster , looks like I have another amp on my bucket list. Hey Dave if you do another blues lesson soon use this amp , I know we’d all love that and use the LP obviously . Great demo and thanks again
How is it that I’ve never heard you play through a Deluxe?! This definitely needs to be in your amp arsenal. Truly awesome Dave!!! Just yes, more please!!!
@@thedavesimpson I must have missed the demo you did when you were at Old Hat. You sound brilliant through that amp though. I totally agree that they absolutely nailed it with this amp. That’s the Deluxe sound in my head, and that unmistakable tone the Deluxe is famous for. I hope that you find a way to hang onto it, or get one in the future. Cause your blues playing, and the combo with this amp is simply magical. Being able to crank it to ten without all that sag is just icing on the cake!
