Fender Tone Master Pro owners - did you know that the TM Pro has TWELVE different signal paths that you can use when creating your presets? In this video we go over 3 of those "other" paths that are used in TM Pro factory presets, why you'd want to use them, plus a demo of each one.

New owner of a TMP, I would like to thank you for those tutorials. It is very helpful, especially for the stereo part. I am running a stereo rig which consist of 2 x Katana MKII 100. TMP goes straight into the AMP IN on both Katanas. Subscribed!

Doug - Thanks for the video on TMP's Signal Paths! I've been experimenting with various Signal Paths especially for two of my guitars. I have a Fender Acoustasonic Guitar that I created an Instrument Split Path that works well. I then programmed one of the Footswitches to toggle between the "electric tele" path and the acoustic path. It works well for looping and I can lay down acoustic/beat loops and then solo with the tele sound. The Second one is for my Emerald Virtuo Guitar. This guitar has stereo output for the Fishman Fluence Magnet pickups and Ghost Graphtec Piezo for acoustic sounds. I use Instrament + Mic / Line Series path for this guitar and it works very well. I can blend acoustic and electric sounds easily and the guitar also has MIDI out to my Boss GM800 Synth Pedal that provides bass, keyboards, flute, trumpet, and many more sounds for looping. My problem is that the TMP's looper only records the Line Input. Do you know if and how I could change settings so that both the Instrument+ Mic and Line Inputs route to the looper? That would be my ultimate configuration. I have external loopers (Boss RC600 and Singular Sound Aeros Loopstation) that handles the synth, Roland Handsonic Drum Pad and much more but I'd like to be able to do simple looping with just the TMP but still record both TMP inputs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

I think I just figured it out myself! I had to set the Signal Path Type to "Instrament+Mic/Line Mix 1". That allows everything to be mixed finally and then recorded by the internal looper.

thanks for this video. Is it possible to create new presets, for example 3 or maybe 4 lines of signal, all of them for one guitar, allowing to have 3 (or for) different amps maybe ?

If you mean switching from amp to amp, then yes. But you can't have all 3 amps going to different outputs. However, you could use the "Instrument + Mic/Line Parallel" signal path and have up to 4 amps going to separate outputs, but you would use the Instrument IN for 2 of them, then you'd have to switch to the Mic/Line IN to use the others. Hope this makes sense!

Thanks. I asked this question because the quadcortex allows much more possibilities with the paths. More professional but more complicated to use.

Hey, thanks for the best vid on path. I want to input my beat buddy into the vocal mic path. Help! Thanks

If you want to use the mic/line input, for right now try preset 130 and plug a guitar cable from the left out on the Beat Buddy into the mic/line input. Then adjust/change the blocks on both paths to suit your tastes. If you want to start from scratch (or even with a pre-existing preset), choose a preset, then click on "Preset Settings" on the bottom of the screen. Click on "Signal Path Type" and choose "Instrument + Mic/Line Series". If you use a pre-existing preset it should move everything correctly, and you'll have the bottom path to use with the Beat Buddy. You may not need any processing on it, or you could add a little reverb. Hope this helps!

New topic. My buddy, who has an Eventide H90, as I do, says that I should sync the TMP and H90. My buddy has an FM9 but still needs the H90 for high quality effects. So options on the TMP are Amp Ctrl, USB, and MIDI. The point is to control patch changes on the H90 with the TMP. So if I change a preset on the TMP, a corresponding patch change will occur on the H90. This level of control is a little above my ability right now.

I'm guessing that this would involve MIDI, and right now the MIDI capabilities are very limited. So I don't think it can be done right now.

@@DougBsDigitalDen Thanks for checking. The simplest solution I have found so far is the MIDI Mouse by Tech 21. Up/Down buttons and a Search Button. In order to communicate program change information, the MIDI Mouse and the receiving MIDI unit(s) must be set on the same channel. (If your receiving unit is on OMNI, it will receive MIDI program change information on any and all of the 16 MIDI channels. Therefore, you need not change the channel of the MIDI Mouse.) The MIDI Mouse is factory set at Channel 1. To change the channel setting to any of the standard 16 selectable MIDI channels: 1. Depress Active/Search footswitch to Search mode (program number flashes). 2. Depress Up and Down footswitches simultaneously. The current MIDI channel number will flash slowly. 3. Depress either the Up or Down footswitch accordingly to desired channel. 4. Depress Active/Search footswitch to “save” the newly selected channel number, and to return to the last program number (in Search mode). When you have two or more MIDI controlled processors linked together, be sure they and the MIDI Mouse are all on the same channel. If you do not want a particular processor in the chain to accept program change information from the MIDI Mouse, be sure to change that unit’s channel. NOTE: The MIDI Mouse will retain a channel setting as long as there is an internal battery. Otherwise, it will revert back to Channel 1 each time the power is disconnected. This is at a level I can understand and work with.

Do yo know if there is a way in USB to make sure that the mic and guitar goes to different channel? If i use output 1 or output 2 i get de guitar and vocal both output 4 and 5 are split by vocal and guitar but are dry channel....?

The only way that I can come up with this in USB (and I'll try it in an upcoming video) is to pan the outputs for each path. The way that I think you'd do this is (and I'm assuming you're using a preset like #130 that uses the "Instrument+Mic/Line Series" signal path) to click on "Preset Settings", then click on "Signal Path Type". Go down to "Instrument+Mic/Line Parallel" and then click "Confirm". This will add a parallel path to the end of each path in your preset. For the top path you'd want to click on the 2nd splitter box, which is for Output. Pan both A and B to the left. Now go to your bottom path Output splitter box and pan both A and B to the right. Now your two signals *should* be panned hard left and hard right. That will give them their own channel in the stereo Output signal. Again, this is off the top of my head. I have no idea if it will work. But anyway, in your DAW you'd select the TM Pro as your Input device, create one audio track using Input 1 and another audio track using Input 2. Also, you can't use any stereo FX on the TM Pro with this setup, mono only. I'll test this when I have time, but let me know if it works for you. Hope this helps!
