Yeah me too. I played the game a lot but never finish all supports. I didn't understand why people shipped them but now, I truly understand... And I support them xD.
@@zurinelliespinoza44 VERY LATE BUT: "someone you fancy" means someone you're attracted to, in a romantic way. "Im about to end this mans whole career" is a meme lol. Basically, Ferdinand shocked hubert with his confession.
@Darris Pope or everyone is in love with her, seriously. She kinda makes Manuela extra fond of her... Manuela tells Fem Byleth if she was a male she'd be all over him but just, goes with it for Dorothea
Oh god, I just realized. Hubert's not being begrudging in the A support; this is how someone who put all his social points into intimidation and snark performs when he tries to flirt for the first time in his life.
@@helpmeidkhowtochangemyprof5408 still gay your either a 12 year old child or joking saying no homo dose not make something less gay in fact rule of thumb if you have to say no homo before doing something its gay not that its problem
Headcannon : even when married they still insult each other out in public and have huge political based arguments. But hubert would always hand write a note for ferdinand, complimenting him when he gets home
My heart couldn't handle this ♡ To think I first started supporting them for the giggles of torturing them and they fell in love XD one of my fave ships now.
Hubert: Why’ve you got that coffee in your hands? Ferdinand: Why’ve YOU got that TEA in your hands? Hubert: I asked you first. Ferdinand: I asked you second. Hubert: Ferdinand: (Fervently begins making out in the middle of the cobblestone path)
That was NOT the direction I thought it was going but I ship it lol. Also just want to say that I really like Hubert’s time skip look. Really didn’t like his looks initially but goddamn his new hairstyle does wonders for him.
Fun fact: someone checked and Hubert only blushes twice. Once if female Byleth gives him the engagement ring. And second, if Ferdinand gives him coffee :')
"Only one thing to do. We must take a rings break." "Very well. But it is not rings I will be drinking." "Of course. I will make you some rings." "Then I shall prepare the rings."
@@onemoregodrejected9369 except they don't swing that way and everyone's just overreacting. It's purely platonic. People react to this as though none of the other supports even exist and even the ending depicts nothing romantic happened between them. "Hubert and Ferdinand became the left and right hands of Emperor Edelgard, competing constantly with each other to see who could be the more helpful. They were opposites - The Minister of the Imperial Household, melancholy and merciless, and the prime minister, bright and compassionate. Still, they brought out the best in each other. As the empire became orderly and prosperous, the two came to be known as the nation's "Two Jewels," and were remembered fondly for generations to come. Some say their fame made even Emperor Edelgard jealous."
@@Flamelance_Accendo yeah their paired ending doesnt state they were married because it didnt need to, they were clearly married mere SECONDS after their A+ support happens in game. i would know i was at the wedding anyways gay rights stay mad
To anyone who’s trying to deny the romantics of their A+ support in the original Japanese wording Hubert uses in the “Is it for someone you fancy?” line had waaaaay more romantic connotations where even in other languages it carried over with more intent. Because of language differences you miss out on Hubert thinking the gift is for a women Ferdinand is in love with which makes that subversion that it’s him all the more powerful. For example in French that line was translated as “is it for the one that captivated your heart?” The sentence used is powerful since the wording is almost always synonymous with lovers or marriage. Ferdinand is still absolute in his response that Hubert is indeed the recipient. This is also not mentioning that the entire support was a response to Ferdinand’s question in their C support of whether Hubert can think or want anything for himself and not for Edelgard. That answer coming to fruition in their A+ support.
In the Japanese version, their paired ending is also slightly more explicit too. I'm pretty sure it says that Edelgard is jealous of them because of how close they are with each other, and she's envious of their relationship. The localization makes it less obvious, where it seems like Edelgard is jealous of them as political rivals, or because they are a better team.
I know absolutely nothing about Fire Emblem, but I thought I might get it based on a cousin's recommendation. The absolute disasterness of this duo has sold me.
Ok but it is legitimately a great game with good characters. I do reccomend checking it out. And if you like this, trust me, there's a lot more where that came from.
Never thought I would get so much likes. Thanks to all 130 people who liked it. You are awesome! :) Edit: Thank you to the 156 people who liked it now. XD Edit: Thanks to the 615 people who liked this. I can't believe my comment is the third most liked one for this video I'm crying tears of joy thank you everybody!
Ohh I love their timeskip appearances.....thank god Hubert fixed his atrocious hair lmao They're literally the 'enemies to friends to lovers' trope and I am HERE for it!
She set it up from the start, keeping up the "rivalry" with Ferdinand with an annoyed demeanour to get Hubert to notice and have the first conversation, masterful
I've noticed people only ever say "Why can't two characters just be friends?" In response to a m/m or f/f ship. I never see people say the same thing to m/f ships
I say that with many of the m/f ships they force romantic music over. Like why the hell do Constance and Yuri have the romance music? Theirs deserved the comedy music.
@@hilbertthefrenchboy7427 Where's your proof then. Because the endings cards don't say it. Everyone saying they're gay here is a dumbass that hasn't read all the supports up to this point. This support is literally about mutual understanding of one another as well as respect. They blush because they're doing things they would not normally do, which in turn makes them embarrassed.. BUT WOW SO GAY. Damn idiots.
@@Flamelance_Accendo Do, do you know what subtext is? Do you know what comparison is? Do you know how romance is often written? The A+ support, two people giving one another a gift that the other person loves, that is a very common romance trope. These two feel more intimate by the end then some of the characters that Byleth marries. And speaking of marriage, there is two times that Hubert blushes, once in this support, and the other time is when he marries Byleth, that would imply those things are of similar feeling to him. You don't like the idea this is romantic at all, well whatever, but to say that anyone else who sees this as romantic is stupid and seeing something that isn't there is straight up ridiculous at best and make you look like a complete idiot at worse because there is stuff here that is romanticly coded.
I also blush with my friends if they ask me something that makes me feel very naked, or something very personal, or that I am ashamed to answer ..., not necessarily because I fancy those persons... ...But when Hubert used the word "fancy" and Ferdinand didn't respond, I felt my heart broke a little. I like it very much same as Ferdie and Dorothea, this damn game and its beautifully written supports are killing me XD
I personally think the way Ferdinand responds with "A gift, yes, for you" is just patently Ferdinand. He is not really the blushing type. Not even for someone he might 'fancy'. Ferdinand is Ferdinand, unabashedly Ferdinand. Where Hubert might blush because this is all new to him, Ferdinand knew what he was going into, and Hubert can't make him blush simply because Ferdinand is so earnest. That's my take on it.
Hubert / *try compliment Ferdinand, but is rude and sarcastic in the process* / Ferdinand: dude you like me or not? ++++ Srsly Hubert is just a big grumpy cat, it's hilarious
Has to disappoint you (lol no I do not) but in the epilogue they do not get married. At all. They're just best bros for life. Sorry. Except I'm not. Because they are obviously not gay.
@@jackmanleblanc2518 Are you saying that a a bromance is less intense than real love? Ya know nothing kid. Jokes aside, I dont really mind that they end up on marriage or not, afaik there is no same gender marriage in any route. Just "end up togheter"
@@briedriel8133 Yeah that is what I tought. They end up "best bros for life" very togheter. Probably there is no concept of same sex marriage since there cant be biological child, but all of the gay ships end up in a "and then they lived togheter" with no marriage.
Their paired ending may not say it. But I guarantee that they were fucking HARD when they weren’t serving Edelgard. They may not have made their romance public, but people did notice large shipments of Tea and Coffee going to the same room and they did have gravestones next to eachother. But historians totally consider them just close buddies who happened to grow old and die together in their own little cottage
@@LiNestHetalia its not just that, every A support between two males end on a kinda of romatic epiloge, yet you as male byleth can't s support with them, and at the end only Lin is an option
@@tiagogreenday0 IFKR? Ferdinand, Syvain and Claude not be a S-rank m/m support is just bullshit, but at least we have Sylvain/Felix, Claude/Lorenz and Ferdinand/Hubert
FACTS. I don't know if they designed it this way, but it seems like each house has some set of pairings that are good for everyone, and don't conflict with each other. Black Eagles, and "honorary Black Eagles", has some of my favorites. Female Byleth and Edelgard Hubert and Ferdinand Dorothea and Petra Linhardt and Lysithea And that still leaves a good pairing in Bernadetta and Caspar Plus, pairings of people who have a good reason to side w/ Edelgard: Manuela and Hanneman Jeritza and Constance Mercedes and Sylvain Marianne and ... pretty much anyone. Heck, Lorenz and her are a great pairing. Marianne's great.
@@ashleyh9807 I don't remember exactly but Hubert says something like "Oh so you think you can stop us" and Ferdinand just looks sadly and says "She has to go Hubert, I won't allow this". I don't know why I thought making Ferdinand kill Hubert was a good idea :(
As the empire became orderly and prosperous, the two came to be known as the nation's "Two Jewels," and were remembered fondly for generations to come. Some say their fame made even Emperor Edelgard jealous. Yep they are gay.
This is def my favorite support convo (besides Felix /annette).. so much better than hearing dorthea whine about finding someone to love for the 100th time and one of the most romantic supports in general.. r.i.p. Bily Kametz
I know everyone else is obsessing over the homoerotic subtext here, but can we talk about how Ferdinand's hair seemingly has cape physics rather than hair physics? That is not how hair works.
C and B support : You are utterly useless I don't even know why you are still here A and S support : Would you like to go on a date and drink some tea uwu
