What Alonso managed to do with the McLaren was pretty amazing at some points, I'd love to see him able to fight for the podium a few times in the Renault.
Maybe having to fight as the underdog has done him some psychological good as a driver? Give him a decent engine, and I'm sure we'll see an even stronger Fernando come back.
For me Alonso, button and Ricciardo are some great people probably the most enjoyable personalities of the grid. I mean how can you not love them xD i also think max and Lewis are great guys
that's what i said.... Yes he is great at a lot... the one weakpoint is that even if he is on top of his game and has the best car, he can still lose a gridplace by not getting everything out of qualifying.
Lets be honest here. Alonso has a serious talent of f*cking up with choices in F1. Further Renault was crap in 2017. Honda was absolutely terrible during the first races. The difference is that they took so many penalty's to improve the engine, and they did. Honda was simply throwing with upgrades and didn't care if an engine was written off already or not. They just came with new spec after spec. Like this Honda developed there engine faster than anybody else during the 2017 season. By late in the season it started to become somewhat acceptable both in reliability and power. Renault just sucked all season long with barely any progress and constant breakdowns. I am Dutch so you know I also want Renault to not suck. I just don't believe in that at all any more. Not after years of Renault promises and very few results. Verstappen even got one new engine delivered straight from Renault with a broken crankshaft inside it which had to be fixed on track. I believe that was Spa, where his car still failed, in front of more than 100.000 Dutch fans. If there was one weekend where that car should have worked and finished it was there, and Renault f*cked it up again. Then there where disasters like Mexico where four of the six Renault engines failed. After that all the Renault powered cars where running on scraped together parts because Renault had run out for the rest of the season. Renault are terrible, an utter joke and I fear it will be a nightmare for McLaren and RBR all over again this season...
Robert Bermudez My friends and my dad are always saying he's finished, he can't win anymore and wherever he goes he just breaks his cars. That annoys me
Na he just looks better in a midfield team racing against midfield opponents, thats why he looks op also his constant negitivity at honda undermined the power of thr mclaren aero unit. Im not denying his talent but y'all are overrating him
Alonso is like the classic racers of the 1960's. John Surtees, Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jacky Ickx all raced in multiple series while competing in F1 and Alonso is continuing that great tradition. Like them he's a real racer!
Such a great guy Nando, always trying to be funny and positive when things go wrong... I hope he will achieve better results next year, he deserves them :D
It is a shame that Honda did its test and experiments by Mclaren and Fernando but Redbull benefited in 2019. exactly the same year Mclaren changed its PU Honda became better than Renault.
Fernando, I really wish you really good luck this season! You totally deserve to be in a competitive and reliable car, and I really hope you'll finally get to fight for the championship again!
I was simply correcting your mistake and helped present what actually happens. Grid girls go away and we have a halo. You had this weird idea that we have grid girls and halo goes away which is total bonkers. In all seriousness, I don't really care a single bit that grid girls go away. I don't watch F1 for them nor do they contribute anything to the sport. Their reason to be there was as eye-candy for the, in my experience, uneducated/unintelligent viewers, who some refer as ''real men''. Halo on the other hand, with objective view, is an improvement to driver safety and that is a fact. Personal view is that I don't mind it, it doesn't destroy anything about F1, it doesn't look too bad. From the outside it actually looks smooth and good.
LethalWalou Well alot of people view it as a bad move towards the left wing media approach. This has been a Motorsport tradition since Motorsport began
Only to people who treat women as an object in their lives it is a bad move. I personally don't mind the decrease in amount of professions where people are treated as objects, men or women. That in mind, it's a good thing that they are gone.
Fernando Alonso on Advice to Avoid an Engine Failure: 1) Do not drive McLaren Honda (F1) 2) Do not drive McLaren Honda (Formula IndyCar) 3) Race the 24 Hours of Daytona (WEC/Le Mans) 4) Do not drive a FCA car 5) Move the power unit to the FIA Formula Two World Championship (formerly GP2), assuming it doesn’t break down.
Andrea Moroni Unless those girls are going to sell food, merchandise, wave flags or just generally not be useless toys they have no purpose being there.
McLaren should have kept de la Rosa as loyal #2 driver instead hire Hamilton 2007-2009, then Alonso would been Champion 2007 & 2008 in McLaren (2009 Brawn GP was too strong anyway).
