FFXIV - Critical Engagements Complete Guide (Bozjan Southern Front) 

For Patriot Games, every Aetherochemical Transfer has two single tethers and one double tether. The bartizan that has the double tether will always fire. As for the other two bartizans, there will always be one that has a red lamp lit up on it indicating it is the other one that will fire. The third tether is a fake-out and will not fire. In short, avoid the path of the bartizans getting the double tether and avoid the path of the red lamp bartizan. Easy.

Some personal advice for Vigil For the Lost, and The Hunt for Red Choctober. In Vigil when the aoes are circling the outside of the room, if you are ranged, it may be more effective to move counter clock-wise against the moving aoes. Stand in the newest circle, wait for the old one to go off, and then walk into where it was. Remember that being in the orange circles isn't dangerous until it disappears. So it is safe to stand in the orange and have enough time to walk out of it before it goes off. That way you aren't constantly running away from it, but instead you have some downtime until the next set circles around to you. For Red Choctober if you do not have reflect and need to do the rotating meteor mechanic it's actually the easiest mechanic in the fight that I see everybody screw up. The chocobos always drop their meteors directly in front of them, and there is a chocobo at each cardinal and every inter-cardinal. If, for example, the first two meteors are north and south then you want to be east or west. Use the chocobos as markers for where you want to be standing. If you are standing directly on the chocobo you are perfect. Then instead of trying to figure out where the middle of the next set is all you have to do is walk to the adjacent chocobo. This makes the entire mechanic brain dead so long as you don't move too early on the first meteor. Wait for the drop, move to next chocobo, repeat.

The most important thing to know about the math mechanic was not in this video: The number over the circle will be ADDED to your HP. That's how you control what your HP number ends up being. (there are probably alot of people who just faceroled the other boss like this and had no idea what the mechanic was)

No matter how many times I watch Red Choctober the cross mechanic with rotating circles still gets me every single time.

You can enable color blind mode on config and it will make the two colors more discernable, they won't necessarily match what everyone else sees.

ok, i see now why im having such a shit time beating the metal fox chaos one.. why are your outside turrets glowing green like that? mine are pitch black and i thought my settings were already on high. there is no glowing effect for me they ONLY light up when they're about to fire and i have the absolute hardest time avoiding them from long range because i can't see the damned things!!

Another interesting thing about mechs that sync to a low number of players, it's just counting how many players are up. You can enter Red Comet with a full group of 48, if only 3 are up, only 3 towers will spawn.

Rise of the Robots is spawned by a Chain of Skirmishes where you kill that robot in easier modes.

22:15 Yeah... Fires of War doesn't scale down. A streamer I watched only had 3 people queue for it. 8 soaks still spawned per wave. It seems like 8 might be a minimum intended scaling threshold.

Does Reflect work for the mines in Patriot Games? I've heard conflicting answers and haven't been able to try out for myself.

Specifically; Getting a vuln stack is what prevents you from qualifying for the 1v1.

I swear red comet was broken the first day it was out. Was in a tightly packed group with no one having reflect and some instant death with others took about 15% damage from the meteor rain proximity aoes. Also the order force march math problem is pretty forgiving and you can walk into the right anwser if your close to it before it resolves.

But how do Skirmishes spawn? Do you kill stuff to spawn skirmishes like Eureka?

Oh my goodness! Finally! I'll be able to avoid those insta kill turrets now that I know how they work!

Akibaba has Broadside Barrage to cleave in front of it, but it ALSO has Blindside Barrage which is the exact same thing but behind it - not a super hard mix-up of mechanics but worth nothing. Also, the golems in Trampled Under Hoof gain a stacking damage buff every time they AoE, up to 5 stacks at which point they each cast it for around 60k damage.

I just started.thr game back up again. Is it still possible to get this weapon or should I skip this since people are so far ahead?

you forgot to mention which ce's are undead and can use "banish III" (increases target damage taken by 25%)

Not sure if haps will see this, but there’s a few mistakes in the video: the name of the Skirmish that spawns Vigil of the Lost is “More machines now than men” not the other way around; in Shadow of the Death’s hand Akbaba opens up with “Blindside Barrage”, not Broadside barrage which is the frontal 180° attack.

Metal fox chaos is it confirmed that they spawn by killing mechs in the north as I can kill them for an hour and it'll spawn the fates, and I can not kill them for an hour and it'll still spawn the fates? It's the last I need on this area before the last 4 of zandor and I'm sssssssooooo bored now 4 days farming one is killing me

Please don't tell me you're expected to memorize the mechanics of every single Critical Engagement before starting Bozja. This isn't actually a thing that the playerbase expects for casual content, is it?

Unless you can afford to play on a $5,000+ machine, the best strategy for red chocobo is to get a few hits in, die, take a Rez if/when you get it, and collect your xp at the end.
