just a quick overview of the fiat 500 1.2 head gasket. the car was getting very hard to start I done a head test and it showed the exhaust gas was getting into the coolant. any questions just ask
Lad who works with me reckons I'm touched, but I pull the front off the car first - leaves you easier access & isn't much of a task. Not saying that's the way to go, but I hate faffing about with crap access to stuff & prefer yanking anything that can be yanked that gives me more room, even if it takes longer. Getting too old for poking about in tight corners. I've another 12 reg one sitting outside to do & I'm strongly considering pulling the whole motor out & doing it on the bench - will see how frisky I feel when going at it. Weighing up how much longer yanking it (2 hours or so) will be compared to trying to feck about with it in the car - plus I'm not so sure the owner didn't toast the crank bearings/more stuff while toasting the head. Least if its out I can poke all the bits I like & decide if the heads worth doing or a replacement makes more sense. Great clear vid btw - nicely done.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_OolrAIWjr4.html This is the software but you do have to pay for it. There is other like autodata. You may find cracked older software on the net and eBay. All the main garage data software is online now so its just a website and a log in. If you need specific thing I can see if it's on it for you
We have a similar issue on our TwinAir, it hasn’t overheated but has slowly become more difficult to fire up despite cranking fine. At the point of combustion it dies, and it pressurises into the cooling system. Reeks of fuel in the expansion tank and it hisses once you undo the cap. I know the gaskets gone but don’t know if it’s worse than just the gasket
I turned the pistons to the mid point so I could clean the deck etc I turned them back to tdc before the belt went on. Hope that helps any other questions just ask
Proper decent mate I bought a 2008 2.5 auto Vivaro. Can’t get a workshop manual at all. So going in blind all the time but this vid is really informative. Different engine I know but principles are the same. Ish. Lol
@@murphyslaw2020today checked, there is a leak of oil from the front, seems like its coming from headgasket.. now i can see some different opinions like, retorque. Or do it all over again. Any ideas? :)
Just done some tests : Timing is all good, its just that i locked it with tools on the opposite side before, but its alright with the regular one too. Oil leak is from the headgasket in front and retorque did not help much, for a moment the noise was a little less louder. So i guess something must have got in between when i was building it up previously and that caused these issues - i bet the gasket is blown again and maybe that would be the reason it was running with some noise. I will get new one with new bolts and will try rebuilding again. @murphyslaw2020
Hi this is a 1.2L 4-cylinder NA like the engine in the Punto, as far as I know the twin air is a 0.9L 2 cylinder turbo. Hope that answers your question
