Hello everyone, this vlog shows how to propagate a Fiddle Leaf Fig Plant. I'm so happy to share it with you because the process I made was successful. I hope you enjoy and learned from this video. Happy planting!
I am so happy to come across your video. I have the same variety of FLF, and recently cut back/ pruned to tree and propagated the two leaf stemmed plant. This was about two weeks ago. I am praying🙏🏽that it produces multiple branches. You're video gives me hope. 🤞🏼
Hello thanks for watching my video. And my apology for this super late reply. Just simply cut the stem under the node based on your preferred size of cuttings. Water them at least once or twice a week. Happy planting.😘
Thank you so much for watching my video. Fungal infection is one of the reasons why your FLF leaf turns brown. Maybe your FLF is sitting in a too much moisture potting mix. Overwatering and poor drainage can cause root rot and stem rot that spread out into the roots, stem and leaves of your FLF plant. Therefore, you better check your soil mix and change it right away if needed. Happy planting!
Beautiful presentation,Much appreciated. Can you let me know what is growing medium for cuttings (perlite + Vermicast proportion)And for planting the well grown cuttings.Satish Hattangadi, Bangalore, India Regards and thanks.
Hello Ms. Satish. Thank you so much for appreciating my video. For my cuttings and propagation I usually used rice hull, varmicast or compost will do, pumice stone (this is optional), coco peat and cow manure (optional as well). But if some of the above mentioned material is not available you can make your own potting mix just make sure that you have a well draining soil mix and it is compact with enough nutrients that your plants needed.
Thanks for watching! I used carbonize rice hull, vermicast, coco peat and a bit amount of pumice stone(optional). But you can try another mixture just make sure you have a well draining soil mix.
During propagation I used pumice stone and vermicast. And when I noticed the appearance of roots I repotted them and used pumice stone, coco cubes, coco peat, vermicast and carbonized rice hull. I water them once a week. Happy planting!
For me,you can propagate FLP anytime. The most important thing is, you have to make sure you have the best soil mixture which is responsible for your plants' growth. Thanks! Happy planting.
