Hi Jeff, Thanks for the update. Please, that they have started working on the Littlewoods building long time coming, the building in Fox Street fire l heard the same thing 👍
Number 5. Up there with the 4 and 72. George Harrison... In about 1999 I was working as a courier and I picked up a portable 8 track recording studio from a rebuilder in Bristol. I was told to go to Henley market place and call a mobile number. Guy came said follow me. Big gates and razor wire. I twigged then. . Ended up in Harrison's place, with a Stonehenge in the garden. Me and some Krishna guys unloaded outside the kitchens and wheeled it in. I heard George saying "is it here" from somewhere, but you know I never waited to meet him, he had just had the attack I think. . I called the seller who didn't know who the buyer was. He cried on the phone. Used it to record some of his last album.
Oh wow that's an amazing story. I once knocked at his house on Mackets Lane to see if he fancied football up at the Woods, but his Mam answered the door and told us he was in the States.
Maybe consider the area that was once occupied by South Liverpool FC. But for the life of me, I can't remember exactly where! I can find plenty of team photos, but none of the stadium. Cheers, Jeff 👍
Try and remember that George lived in Cecil St for quite awhile, A lot of people moved out to Woolton, Speke and Halewood from the very same st. I would love to know who the landlord was at the High st address
Shame that the towers were knocked down. I hope the remaining ones are not demolished. Just to show you what you can do with a cooling tower, post-decommissioning, this one from the former nuclear power station in Kalkar, Germany, was put to a different use (it's now part of a theme park): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y7Uv8m_M9-U.html
