Backing away and not mentioning that she has 19 in each of her 4 classes...

😳😳😳😳..18! That's a dream come true. I teach 3rd graders and I squeeze 27 students in my shoebox sized room. I am not complaining, because I enjoy each and everyone of my students. I LOVE what I do! ❤ I hope everyone has a successful school year.

My class has never had over 16 students

Those came from another school. They were very dated eggshell/cream color, so I painted them with paint I got at Lowes. I want to say the paint name was Waterscapes or something similar.

Wow! Good luck! My class sizes when I was in elementary were usually between 24-28, so I'm definitely grateful for my smaller class sizes.

I don't have a SmartBoard anymore. From what I was told, mine was very finicky, so I never even used it. My students have interacted with projected images on whiteboards since they were in first grader, so we just stuck with that!

I'm really thinking I may! It's recently become a place for me to stash things I want out of sight, which means it's time for it to GO! Lol

I give you credit, Regina! Large class sizes are great for discussions, but I know it can be tough at times. When I was in school, we averaged 24-28 and I am thankful for my smaller class sizes.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm seeing that a lot of districts are not allowing flexible seating next year due to a lot of the surfaces being porous and difficult to disinfect. As of right now, my district hasn't set any restrictions. If you are asking for general advice: I used yard sales, flea markets, and goodwill to obtain probably 95% of my flexible seating. My students are relatively good about sharing and I let them know that flexible seating, once ruined or abused, is gone for good. They lost one stool last year because they were arguing over it constantly, unfortunately, and even setting a chart for use didn't work. To sum it up: don't break the bank (think creatively) and set clear expectations.

I teach Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies- so all the core subjects. I'm the only fifth-grade teacher, so I do it all! lol

They slide smoother so they don’t make any noise and they don’t ruin/scratch the floor

They will be, but I talked about this in my most recent vlog! I'm up and moving A LOT while I teach and I rarely write on the boards, so my kids are constantly turning around anyway as I wander around the room! :)

I'm thankful! But I do like the larger sizes for class discussion purposes. I love all the input, but I do appreciate how much easier and more quickly I can build relationships with smaller groups.

What a wonderfully-sized class! I started last year with 12 and ended with 9. This school year I started with 19 and ended with 18. It was quite the change, but I think next year I'm holding steady at 11-13 as of right now!

They do! I'm very thankful for it. I don't take them often because they make it difficult to focus, but it's nice to know it's an option if needed.
