great vid, you should not have been no repped for doing a strict press. you are allowed to strict for any S2OH movement because its the hardest of the 3 (strict, push press, push jerk). its like if you were doing a pull up and decided not to kip but to do it strict. Thats ok.
I typically see this WOD on Saturdays at my box, and every time I do I instantly recall the pain from the previous time it made it's way onto the board. It's been awhile, so I am about due I figure. It's a tough one to PR because it's so easy to wear yourself out early and fuck yourself later on. Truly a great WOD though.
I wanted to try this and after i watched this,it might be smart to call the peramedic before i start..looks fun but hellish..Yeah go me (i am going to die)
Ha, so nice. Push Press from the rack is a pretty common standard for Fight Gone Bad. Not saying it's "the" standard because none is specified. But we have at least 9 other FGB demo videos on our site and you'll see with and without rack: wodwell.com/wod/fight-gone-bad/
I was thinking about that too. Box jumps seems to be an exercise that only has a sterter position and an end position. You start on the ground and you've done a rep when your on the box with straight legs. Not like the thruster where you have a "middle stage" as well when the hips should be under your knees. Diferent exercises, different standards. It's hard work either way. I love it!
+WODwell my trainer uses anaerobic exercises. I see him 3 days a week 1 hour a day. he use to do crossfit years ago. I think he uses some of that in my training. plus I go to 24 Hour Fitness and do 5 sets of what ever I'm working on 1 once or twice a week. it's my 3rd week back training with him after taking 3 months off.
