Nah I'll take the bait. The script doesn't make sense. Osha puts out a fire in space with a fire extinguisher rather than turning off the valve or something. They arrest osha even though she was somewhere completely different and had an alibi and they arrest her because of a witness rather than using any sort of technology to investigate. They send Osha, who they thought was dangerous and deadly enough to kill a jedi master, on a prison ship with just droids and a cyborg that can hack droids. Speaking of, the Jedi died from a knife though we've seen plot armor save far more dire injuries. Anyways, the prisoners break out and the jedi go and capture all of them in their escape pods and then fly back to coruscant with them. So they had a ship collect the survivors and then just completely ignored the crash site and went back to Coruscant to think about sending a probe droid back out there to investigate?? Also, "steel or laser are no threat to them" when Mae had just killed a jedi with a steel blade That's just episode 1! Mae's accomplice in episode 2 murders the previous owner of the shop right in front of the jedi temple and no one noticed anything odd about that? How about the jedi master that hasn't left his room for a decade and has been meditating the whole time. How does he eat or go to the bathroom and have an invincible shield? How does Mae slip back into the temple so easily the second time? Why does Mae and Qimir just hang out after they've successfully killed the jedi? The sith have been extinct for a millenium Qimir wrecking all of the jedi with ease Qimir being carried off by monsters because of a flashlight but all the lightsabers didn't draw them etc etc etc The show has piss poor writing through and through
Nice video and great perspective. The vitriol surrounding the show doesn't really make sense. I'm sticking around to see how this thing ends, but so far I'm enjoying the ride.
Look the show is bad. However it is not remarkably bad, the vitriol around it seems to stem (as it always does nowadays) from politics. It’s not good, it’s not the worst thing ever. If you like it, you do you. I’m personally sick of culture wars invading every aspect of life, can’t we all get along and learn to agree to disagree? Or just disagree without being disagreeable. It’s ridiculous, the internet makes people act like immature, whiny brats.
I dont think people take issue with a strong female character, nobody seems to hate Ahsoka, Princess Leia or Padme. I think people take issue with this series just flat out disrespecting the established lore. Thats also the reason why I for the most part dont like this series and the sequel movies. The sequels basically redid everything what the heroes from the original movies already had achieved. And the Acolyte apparently has two new Anakins in it (birthed by the force/"the tread"), which indirectly undermines the entire Prophecy about Anakin. And yeah, I agree with what you said yourself about the jedi being portrayed as boring bureaucrats instead of cool warrior monks. This already expresses in details like the overweight Jedi kid being present. Maybe in an alien that could make sense, but how on earth is a human gaining weight like that as a jedi? Its so clear they want to cater to a diverse audience instead of making chooses that make sense from a story point of view. I found episode 5 alright, but most of the series has annoyed me so far, its just not at all what once made star wars appealing to me.

I love Star Wars, and I get the idea that anything in that universe can be entertaining just by default. But, If you look at it objectively in terms of elements of a good production - from story, to character development and arcs, to plot dynamics, to dialogue - it fails miserably at every single turn; it is totally void of substance. And keep in mind, this isn’t just a fan made show, this is a 180MM budget production. I keep an open mind and give everything a fair shake, but there’s no way around how bad this show is.
Great perspective. The show is not great. It has a lot of fundamental weaknesses in its storytelling. Lots of plot holes and dumb decisions to force the plot. But still, it has some cool elements and the backlash is way over the top. Right-wing culture warriors basically declared war on it. Lame.
The hate for the show DOES make a lot of sense. It's the worst thing to come out of star wars so far and thats saying something considering that the sequel trilogy and book of boba fett exist.
Book of Boba Fett was way worse than the Acolyte, the Acolyte is watchable and doesn't ruin legacy characters and tries new stuff. The hate is exaggerated.

Actually Attack of the Clones made sense. It is a movie that fits in the Lucas Star Wars universe. No contradictions. No social agendas forced on the audience. Some bad dialogs, some bad scenes, but overall it was good. On the other hand, so far only Andor that can live up to the above description. And maybe Rogue One. The rest is flat out horrible and idiotic crap, that cotradicts the Lucas universe in many ways, have terrible stories, terrible dialogs, nonsense character behaviors, and full of social agendas forced on the audience. The Acolyte is so bad, that it can not be considered Star Wars, alongside with the DIsney trilogy, the Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, the disney cartoons and the Obi-wan show. #whiteslavers

Ok I'll fight you on it, if YOU like this garbage that's totally fine no one can or should tell you what to like. The same however is true for the reverse, you cannot tell people what they SHOULD like. At the end of the day its a tv show and its YOUR opinion that you're showcasing here. The score and amount of hate this show is getting is about how terrible the show is true but there are other factors in it, namely the lead actress, the showrunner, and the president of Lucasfilm insulting fans that do not like this show...and they did this before it even came out. That is a BIG part of it, second is the absolute disrespect that this show pays to George Lucas who created Star Wars, this is also confirmed by the showrunner and the president of Lucasfilm. Then finally you get to the blatant virtue signalling that was done again confirmed before the show was released. Now let me address your first topic that it "isnt that bad" you say the acting isn't horrible and that the writing isnt that bad? I do wonder what you consider bad writing then because this was not thought out at all. Now disclaimer, do not mistake acting as a necessary criticism of the actor/actress (with the exception of Amandla Stenberg, she's just not a good actress) the actors and actresses are doing the best they can with the crappy writing they were provided as a script. The story, might be good for a unnamed science fiction story but NOT Star Wars, as it was written by people who (once again confirmed) knew NOTHING about Star Wars. (If you need me to go into detail I will happily do so). My next point in regards to not paying respect to George Lucas...He created Star Wars, whether or not you like this doesnt matter it is FACT. So in that Universe far far away, he is GOD, everything in existence there came from his imagination. So to be as arrogant as these people are to say and I quote "George Lucas got it wrong" or "I think we created something even better than George did." Is a slap in the face of us actual fans. Before you say that he sold it to Disney, that doesn't matter, that simply gave them the ability to keep creating in that universe but it is unspoken that you do not change what was already established which the acolyte does. I agree. I just watched the first 4 episodes and found it actually pretty good. I suspect most of the hate and negativity comes from people under the age of 50 who never got to see the Original when they came out like we did. They only experience the obserd culture war that Starwars has become. It's sad that people either never learned or forgot to just relax and enjoy the show. At the end of the day, as Lucas himself said, it's just meant to be fun. People treat it like a religion now. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. 👍😁🇨🇦

Probably because it's not bad, it is actually, pretty good it's not perfect though and it's not contrary to the lore. It's contrary to legends saying Mundi is a certain age but thats about it. Nobody sane really cares about that. The insane however tend to care.

The acting is subpar at best. The writing is TRASH! The lack of respect for existing continuity is disrespectful,and please understand folks; this project cost almost the same as Dune part 2! What agenda? Also imo Star Wars ran its course ages ago. It needed a totally fresh perspective or to just end. I don’t think any sequels should’ve been made after the original six.
@notaspeck6104 People keep saying a fresh perspective... Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy is a great example of a "Fresh Perspective." That was a good product. The Alcolyte isn't a well-made product.
The issue with this kind of inclusivity in the entertainment industry, is that its clearly just part of a package of ideologies being pushed on the culture. I personally have no problem with a protagonist being of any race or gender, but there is an obvious movement happening to remove gender roles by saying women can do anything men can do, when that’s clearly not true and it’s the same way vice versa. There are things women can do that men can’t do and that’s ok. But a tiny minority of people in current day society aren't OK with that and they're working overtime to force their opinion on the culture. They aren’t OK with men being more powerful than women, and so, what do you do about that? You put women in masculine roles as much as possible. The showrunner is LGBT so of course then why not throw in identity politics and gender ideology, no surprise there. That’s all the show is. It’s the showrunner with an agenda using the Star Wars IP to push those ideologies. So the reason for 13% is people not being blind to what is being done here, unlike yourself, who will make it known that something they grew up loving, the Star Wars IP, is not ok to be used to push lies and evil. Plus you make the weakest arguements for why this show is good. No examples, just "the writing is good". Weak. Not everyone has high standards, as you make evident.
My man, great video. But I think that the criticism is made by the content not the actors. There are many things about the show that make it bad. An exemple is the label taken by Kamir. A “Sith”. As in PM, “the sith have been extinct for a millennia”.
Haven't seen how the story plays out. Just because a dark side user says the jedi would consider him a sith doesn't mean he is. Most likely he ends up being something else like the original knight of ren. Even he says he doesn't call himself a sith.

What is supposed to be "woke" in this show? Witches also existed in Clone Wars and many love that show. Anakin also was "created" with the force and noone said anything against that. People just try to find things that they can call "woke" nowadays. "Woke" is the new "racist"

Aside from some of the Saber on Saber Choreography, the comment section is pretty on point.. It is super commercial for Star Wars.. No puppets/animatronic life on planets, can really see Disney's laziness shining through.. Surprisingly boring for what was supposed to be the Darkside/Sith show.. Especially since we're probably almost through with it!?.. Crazy seeing full TV Shows nowadays without anything significant actually happening..
