This German officer had one hell of a life. Before the war, he caught a monkey and dragged its ass over to New York. Then he joined the Wehrmacht and survived Stalingrad. He spared a Jewish pianist. Arrested the July 20th plotters. He survived the war because he wasn't present at the bunker during the final days. Two decades later he became a journalist for West German news and documented a massacre in South Korea. Ultimately, he met his end when worked for the Umbrella Corporation.
@@abhishekchauhan5857 I am saying on the basis that he didn't until the modern world. If not, he literally died everywhere. He died in Stalingrad, died in Soviet POW camp, died in Berlin, died in Israel, died in Racoon City, etc. He will probably die in Indiana Jones too.
two different kinds of style: - In Saving Private Ryan, you can clearly see an MG42 almost wiping everyone as soon as they get on the beaches. - In this one they charge on fire straight towards an MG34 and take over the trench. (the slow motion kills me...) If you like realism and want to see a good Russian movie about WW2, I highly recommend Come and See. No heroism, just hell. This one really hits hard. If you like reading, The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer, this book will get you real accurate accounts of what it was like to fight on the eastern front during WW2. No movies will come even close to this book. It totally changed my perception of what the eastern front was like. Probably one of the hardest book I've ever read
That charge actually happened. The Russians were on fire and everything. Not surprised actually considering the Attack of the Dead Men in WW1. Russians are just built different bro.
I couldn't get trough to Tolstoj:s "War and Peace" but thanks, and the MG 42's at Omaha were grouped along the ridge. And had a clear shot, not like the normal fog of war..
@@DivineWisdom28 That’s actually one of the reasons for the massive German exodus to South America mainly. I have heard stories from Italians that were in the war as civilians and the Russians were actually feared because they raped and killed civilians in cold blood and were even ordered to do so. The Italians preferred the Americans because according to what they told me, they carried chocolate and little glass bottles of Coca Cola for the locals in exchange for food and a place to set up some of their stuff so women would cook for them and the soldiers handed chocolate and soda to children. In contrast, when Russians showed up, they hid in shelters.
Usually I always think of war films about WWII as shit. Because in many Hollywood and Russian films, German soldiers are portrayed as stupid. Usually an Allied soldier sits on one side and fights with a spoon against an entire German regiment and wins too. I don't know if this is a movie or a series, but this is really well done. Plot, effects, costume, direction, etc. really great. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ok, so the Russian soldiers were on fire and still charged up the slope and took a position from dug in veteran German troops armed to the teeth? I’d say burning alive would diminish you ability to fight effectively.
I'm up to the one minute mark...the whole place is on fire and there's zero ash raining down; this guy is just walking around breathing normally. They're standing up and not even trying to conceal themselves, not even with helmets on, in an area where snipers could be anywhere. This movie is hilarious!
4:55 this is the only part I had a problem with. Germans defending from an entrenched position and being totally useless while the burning Soviets aren't rolling frantically on the ground, begging for death Everything else lives up to Stalingrad's horror
This is really accurate for post 2000 military we always throw flash before targets. But because my grandpa was in the Korean War, he said the Soviet building clearing or any other nations doctrines was really bad. It was field artillery and then storm in
Flash grenades... no modern army uses those, they don't work like its call of duty 😂 It's a grenade through the door then storm in if you know there's enemy combatants inside
Yeah ,and in all russian movies you will see only how brave and immortal was the russians ! Nothing about heavy russian losses ! Propaganda is working even today.
Ive read that sometimes germans and rusians were in the same building without knowing. One german soldier wrote he wantet to go on the toilet and a russian soldier was occuping it already. Cant know if its true but i can imagine it
@@SuperChuckRaney Yes. It will blow up the toilet, and then there will be no toilet for you to use. The gentlemanly thing to do would be to wait until he has done his business, then shoot him.
Honestly if i was a German soldier in the same building with the Russians i don’t care if it’s war i wouldn’t even shoot at them… i mean if were in the same building were gonna at least make some kind of peace between our squads…
At @ 5:09 + : BEST part of the whole film and it’s completely true. The Germans didn’t know the tanks were full and the Russians kept attacking, although on fire! Amazing tenacity 👍👍👏👏. 💟☮️
Yes, we should remember the war. And we should avoid new wars. I belevie that people want to live in peace. And I hope that that there will be no military agression against Ukraine.
Did i miss the scene where stalin is flying on a tank killing thousands of german soldiers with his laserbeam? This film has a few good scenes ngl. But if all german soldiers were that bad, germany would have lost the war 2 hours after it started
Stalin is riding a T REX, THAT is riding a Russian Bear, the BEAR is holding as Katusa Rocket Launcher and a nakes Russian Woman. You cant expect Stalin to carry his own Woman? So anyway, The Bear can only wealk, cause of the weight of Stalin's Balls. The T Rex has the laser beams out it's eyes. Stalin is holding a sniper rifle and bayonet.
For all those who keep asking and cant read the fucking description, the movie is called Stalingrad and it is the 2013 version because there are other movies with the same name.
Call of duty - 2
Battle of stalingrad August 1942 til February 2nd 1943 its estimated that the soviets had over 2 million casualties and the Germans and there axis allies Italian Romanian and Hungarian lost over 800 thousand casualties. To experience one day of this hell would have been unimaginable. History is so important to remember all those that sought and died sadly for leaders that did not care about anything but there own power. Hitler and Stalin were both ruthless dictators.
At least now I understand why they make spetnaz trainees jump through rings of fire. So they can conduct a charge into a reinforced machine-gun position while on fire. Very believable.
The movie is absolutely unrealistic. I would like to highlight the scene of the charge. Brave Russians run, burning in the fire of a machine gun PROVIDED MG42 OR 34 WHICH HAS PERFORMED UP TO 1,200 BULLETS PER MINUTE. In addition, not only the machine gun itself, but also submachine guns. Only this caught one or two Russians who fell not even by a bullet but by fire. These Russians would not be able to run, more so they should run in circles and then fall down because of the pain, and really enormous pain because it is the pain of the fire. Well some of them runned to the water and they done the most clever and realistic movement. The Germans should start firing AFTER the Russians run out from behind the hill. It is about 50 - 100 m distance and the effective range, for example MP 40, is 300 m. I have no idea how they managed to reach the German defences. In general, it is a nice defense of these Germans, one MG on rack, with 10 - 20 people and that's it. I don't know, maybe 100 out of 50 people should be, considering the fact that they were defending the coast. There should be several LMG MG 42 or MG 34, and not only one in the rack version FOR CONTINUOUS FIRE (just to approximate the unrealistic approach of the Russians to the position of the Germans). And yes, its Stalingrad, there were ~ 400.000 German troops so yea ... The Russians shown in this charge are holding the PPSH I do not say that they could not because there was a lot of PPSH and the Russians created assault troops, but it is unrealistic that such valuable units were exposed to the first fire, usually even the Russians threw troops to death only to detect enemy positions but no this valuable units with these submachine guns. Well what a crap movie like most Russian WWII movies. They show the unstoppable and invincible Russians and those bad Germans crap of course in the fight and because of that its shitty movies.
This looks awesome so far. I always had some fascination with the nazi troops because they seem to kill at a 5:1 ratio. I hope this has some English subtitles or something.
Never was that simply of a ratio. Not ever soldier got 5 kills. In modern war plans artillery and tanks are the real killing power. As soon as the axis lost those things the war turned against them and they started experiencing large casualties.
@@steadyjumper3547 I agree with that, but the loss of air superiority is really what was the deciding factor. It just seems to me that the German soldiers killed so many more enemies per soldier on average.
@@gregorychew1089 They really didn’t. Much of the extremely high casualty count the Germans racked up was made up of POWs, not kills (although most died due to awful treatment anyway). And many of the lopsided numbers are also fairly easily explained by the fact that for much of the latter half of the war, the Russians were on the offensive. Attackers always take more casualties than defenders, and it didn’t help that Hitler often refused to allow retreat, forcing the defenders to hold positions even longer than they normally would.
The German soldier man for man was not much better than his counterparts on the battlefield, whether in the east or in the west. Their success owed almost entirely on coordination.
Very relevant in our time. Remember who liberated Europe from Nazi expansion and who continues to do so today. We hope for the complete eradication of Nazi formations in the modern world and bringing them to justice
"soviet soldiers coming while fire on them and still alive while german soldiers suffering lag and cant respond on the attack for a while also stukas planes drop all their bombs on water instead of soldiers" russian movies logic 🥴
My most high respect for the Russians (Soviets) whom lost a staggering 27 million citizens during the fight against Germany, and the Nazi's. *My hat off, and down. Genuine respect to the brave and fierce fighting Russian soldiers.*
@@saidblanco7696 notice please, I typed "citizens"... Some were civilians, some were soldiers. It doesn't diminish my utmost respect for the people who paid that price, the ultimate price... their own life. 🙏 Take care, be well. 🇺🇸😎
Movie stereotypes German: always lost even have stronger power are doing defend Soviet: always running out from fire and yell URA US: normal soldier British: drink tea(they didn't show up in a lot movie)
The Russian soldiers in the movie sure fight like elite commandos spetnaz special tactics squad. It's like one guy can kill ten German soldiers. I thought real history described countless numbers of poorly trained Russian soldiers being sent by their irresponsible and poor quality leaders, to their deaths, during the early days of the war in Stalingrad. The only chance that the German soldiers get overrun is when the German soldiers run out of bullets and the Russian soldiers just came horde after horde, eventually overrun the German soldiers.
The "german run out of bullets" was a thing in D-day were the allies just threw hordes of men, not in Stalingrad were the soviets were outnumbered until 1943.
